Yeah, but what’s popular? Trash pop and rap. My sister likes taylor swift but it makes me nauseous and I kid you not, physically ill. If I liked a band that was popular I wouldn’t not listen to them over it, but there’s not alot of good music that’s popular.
@@RobTheBunny76Why tf would it make you ill bruh. Elitist ass take lol. There isn’t anything wrong with liking what you like, that includes popular pop and rap.
better when it's sunny and there are a thousand faces swarming, thoughtless and gay, all around you, that you be reminded of just how truly awful it all is
One of my favourites from Evoken. I've listened to this song a lot and when I first time heard this at their gig it was fucking awesome. So much power in it. Funeral doom, especially Evoken, makes you think everything that matters. Music is the thing that matters to me.
im listening this as a part of a playlist and i have to say, this genre is the closest i can find to the slow breakdown metal i've been looking for forever.
Queen influenced Metallica, there is no disputing that. Metal draws influences from all over the damn place. That's why it's fucking amazing. Also, mainstream music can be unabashedly terrible (Nicki Minaj) or incredible (Muse). Underground can be awesome (Evoken, Ahab, DsO...) or less-than-shit quality. Limiting your tastes to what isn't popular is as ignorant as limiting them to what is popular.
Bitch did you just talk shit about Nicki? I was listening to Did it on 'em before this track, and as the song goes "if you ain't a Nicki fan then you fucking deaf dumb"
When I first listened to Thergothon, I had found my new love. Once you hit these deep and dark bands, it's hard to find something more depressing, but I too wish there were more.
Bands like Von, Leviathan, Weakling, and Judas Iscariot etc. are fantastic American black metal bands. Bands like Dusk, Evoken, and Winter are fantastic American doom metal bands. We have more of worth than what normally gets noticed.
@ixsetf I've been listening to Death/Doom and Black/Funeral for years. I was going to send this song to my girlfriend to show her one of my favorite types of music. Then I see, regardless of position, Justin Bieber named. Then I realize metal has been forsaken, and you sir killed it.
Pink Floyd is NOT horrible. good music including metal is built like a canyon by flowing rivers, rivers like classic rock, psychedelic rock, punk rock, electronic rock and on to metal including doom, funeral and heavy. yeah when I listen to this band and other good bands, the influence of Pink Floyd, Kraftwerk, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and others come to mind. that's a fact.
Neither long or meager lay Nor a comet on a July's day Would lead my righteous soul astray To cowardice, left hand's way Oil soaked timber, wooden bone Whatever fate - God knows alone I pray for him to watch our trail For I know to kill we sail So sing, seaman, join my hymn of Blood and oil Sing her out, sing of our return to Rotten soil First Nantucket sleigh ride, see! Will be a kingly gift to me O! That is where I long to be Deep in the heart of the sea
This is great. I've finaly got round to searching for some nice Doom(*) Metal. It's a nice change of pace; since the rest ov Metal keeps trying to get faster and faster.
@YTisMyPlaylist when you're unbiased, you don't have the need nor the time to bother with other's opinions unless it supports your own thoughts. I believe depressing and dark music to be profound in meaning, but the feeling that enraptures me most is the feeling of mystery. In a way, funeral doom metal gives off a mysterious vibe. Mysteriously dark that is. I also listen to many piano songs and mongolian throat singing. Serenity yet again is another feeling that i favor as well.
@TheUnofficialTruth doom metal is an evolution of the dark sound created mainly by black sabbath, it is characterized by very dark and sometimes strange atmospheres, by slow tempos and in more extreme doom subgenres like this(funeral doom metal) growling, downtuning of guitars/bass, very distorted tones and that sort of deep bottom airy tones are used often. for more info, just take a look to doom metal on wikipedia, they explain what's doom metal pretty well, probably better than me :P
@ixsetf I just found out last night, that amazon.com will have this album for sale. But it won't be released until May 3. I've already pre-ordered mine.
@ixsetf Your right 100%, but it's hard to get someone to admit they only listen to Justin Beiber to fit in. And it's hard to get a punk/metalhead/rocker/clubber/raver to say that they only like it for the image. In the end, people should be happy that they have the opportunity to listen to whatever music they want, it might not be everywhere but at least everyone gets a chance to freely listen/play any type of music.
well, actually they did have something to do with the underground. try out the Walpurgins ( earlier, satanic version of War Pigs) from the Ozzman commeth, or BS -Black Mass or Life at Plumpton, some songs we know from their albums were different :) have fun listening :) and by the way, that post was a joke of some earlier feuds :)
"Limiting your tastes to what isn't popular is as ignorant as limiting them to what is popular."
Nice qoute. :) fire
underrated quote

mainstream music makes you ill cus it’s mainstream 😂 jk

Its very rare for an actual good song to become popular
That just sounds like darkness with extra steps.
I have to say that, among the most "extreme" metal genres, funeral doom has to be the most beautiful, even though DSBM comes close...
True, and without any doubt the most atmospheric.
i think melodeath is better
Melodeath is good, but not "extreme"
well it is a subgenre of death metal so
I prefer BDSM... but that's just me.
Beautiful atmosphere. Makes me visualize everything decaying away.
very Poetic.
The atmosphere in this song is almost life changing in a sense, a true masterpiece of Doom.
a perfect song for a cold / grey day......
better when it's sunny and there are a thousand faces swarming, thoughtless and gay, all around you, that you be reminded of just how truly awful it all is

So much power in it.

Most people listen to music for strength, not weakness. Its surprising to what music we find strength in, especially music such as funeral doom.
Funeral doom best way to kill quarantine
Misanthropy level: enjoying funerals
im listening this as a part of a playlist and i have to say, this genre is the closest i can find to the slow breakdown metal i've been looking for forever.
Listen Ahab, another great funeral doom metal band
+1
found this genre thanks to Ahab.
when i want to chill, i hear doom metal..its just the perfect music for relaxing
STILL coming back to this... beautiful
The clean tone guitar is fantastic
Its all about the atmosphere....powerful song....
Everything began with this song...oww, was so especial for me 2 years ago :(
This may surprise many of you, but I'm a Metal fan. Thats why I'm here. Listening to it. 'It' being Metal.
I used to think (brutal)death metal was the most extreme genre..but I was wrong..(funeral)doom metal is
ShadowOfIshtar I guess it depends, funeral doom is "extremely" dark and brutal death metal is "extremely" violent and chaotic.
+ShadowOfIshtar I agree
+ShadowOfIshtar *Beauty can be Extreme, that's the spirit of Metal. everything can be extreme in Metal.*
I'd say that a brutal death song could be a good theme for Inferno when funeral doom is more like Necropolis.
why not both? listen to disembowelment m8
I want to be in the mountains at dusk when this comes booming from the sky.
One of the best songs i've EVER heard.
This is very atmospheric to me. It could help me cope with my anger and anxiety issues.
A beautiful creation to guide us trough lives deepest miseries.
Queen influenced Metallica, there is no disputing that. Metal draws influences from all over the damn place. That's why it's fucking amazing.

I imagine myself in a forest at dusk with this song blasting from the mountain peaks above.
Extremely beatiful funeral doom!!!
When I first listened to Thergothon, I had found my new love. Once you hit these deep and dark bands, it's hard to find something more depressing, but I too wish there were more.
great song, great tune
Evoken! Auf jeden Fall eine von den top 3 aus doom genre
no me canso de escuchar este tema
Evoken es realmente tremendo
de lo mejor del funeral doom americano
5 estrellas!
saludos desde Argentina!
This song has an excellent atmosphere to it. Awesome song!!!
Cannot wait to see this band tonight in Brooklyn.
One of the greatest songs of all time
I like to think this is what helps me cope with maybe not full-blown depression, but sadness or mild depression
Огонь! Очень круто!
Bands like Von, Leviathan, Weakling, and Judas Iscariot etc. are fantastic American black metal bands. Bands like Dusk, Evoken, and Winter are fantastic American doom metal bands. We have more of worth than what normally gets noticed.
this isnt music, its life.
hail from germany \m/
This song sends chills down my spine no matter what. If this happens I know it;s good funeral doom.
this is very good, i don't usually listen to this, usually i go for melodic death but this seems to be very melodic as well
Doom metal is just the right way to express feelings.
Greetings from Germany again
Man, I've been looking for this album for a while, and I can't find it, ANYWHERE!!! Demoralizing as it sounds, I'm not gonna give up yet.
@ixsetf I've been listening to Death/Doom and Black/Funeral for years. I was going to send this song to my girlfriend to show her one of my favorite types of music. Then I see, regardless of position, Justin Bieber named. Then I realize metal has been forsaken, and you sir killed it.

Into the unknown .... beware of the light...

I loved it right away. I only wish I could find something darker and more depressing.
one of the best doom albums
Looking forward to see them live tomorrow
This band not gonna disappoint uuu
@CyanideSovereign i agree with you man, its good to go back to the slower heavy stuff after a while of listening to stuff like slayer
Lugubrious and powerful and WONDERFUL
Neither long or meager lay
Nor a comet on a July's day
Would lead my righteous soul astray
To cowardice, left hand's way
Oil soaked timber, wooden bone
Whatever fate - God knows alone
I pray for him to watch our trail
For I know to kill we sail
So sing, seaman, join my hymn of
Blood and oil
Sing her out, sing of our return to
Rotten soil
First Nantucket sleigh ride, see!
Will be a kingly gift to me
O! That is where I long to be
Deep in the heart of the sea
My god... I can feel myself descend into the crushing black.
dude dont take this music the wrong way.
yeah, best american metal i have ever heard.
wohoo someone put this song up..... awesome
now, this is metal
This is great. I've finaly got round to searching for some nice Doom(*) Metal. It's a nice change of pace; since the rest ov Metal keeps trying to get faster and faster.
I was listening to this song...in a cemetery. It was an incredible experience
gives me the shivers
Doom is the most and extreme style in metal!!
Unbelieveable...
Lol, there was a advert using John Murphys "Surface of the sun" and I though "wtf, that's not evoken ?!"
This reminds me of Kathulu rising from the depths once again.
This band is amazing!
graves darkned obscure silence and die amazing great clip
...Should I feel concerned if I keep on listening to this song on a daily basis ?
you feel how powerfull dark feelings are. ;)
listen to this when you are angry and you are alone
works wonders
love doom

This wicked tune reminds me of a50 ft frost giant striding over frozen wastelands returning from a raid in faraway lands.
Красиво
Funeral doom is an acquired taste.
