Hey there Yappy! you were saying chinook the first time and that is the right name for the fish. I live in Canada on the west coast and we get a lot of salmon this time of the year and the chinook are the last type of salmon to leave when it is winter.

When I was in the navy, I was briefly stationed in Port Canaveral. It was state of the art deep water harbor south of the Kenedy Space Center. We were operating out of there testing new weapons. While there was saw the last moon launch and a huge ball of mullets. It must have had 10,000 members it filled the channel for about 30 yards. I civilian drove up and threw a net on the ball and took out about 20 fish.

I love this place! We’ve been there several times now and by far it’s my favorite. Got to swim with manatees and hang out with a mom and her baby. Couldn’t believe she let me get that close, I’ve always heard stories about them pinning you down under water and drowning people so it was a little surreal to be perfectly honest.

Hey, just another spot idea. This spots in FL though. It’s by the SeaDaddys Manatee Dive Center. It’s part of Crystal River. When we made a trip here once I remember there being a swimming area with a deep spring that we could explore. We were only snorkeling and it was my first time. But I bet you could find a lot of phones, gopros and who knows what other treasure down there. A lot of people go to this little beach park. I attached a photo of the swimming area. A lot of boats come through the river as well and they could have dropped something.
The water there is clear and beautiful!
