Yeah I agree with you that they are all masala movies but at least for veeram and jilla the screenplay was fast paced. I am not a big fan of masala movies but those movies were watchable. I enjoyed veeram surprisingly. But anjaan on the other hand had a terrible second half. It was so boring. The first half wasnt too bad still watchable but second half really killed the movie but I agree that he rates those movies way too high. I would give anjaan 2, veeram 3, thalaiva 2.5, jilla 2.75

Ratha Charithram, 7am Arivu, Maatraan did not do well and Anjaan has entered the list. Out of the past 4 years, Singam 2 was the only hit but Singam 2 in my opinion was not up to the mark and surya and masala were the only aspects that made the movie a hit. Surya is going through the phase Vijay went through 5 years ago where he selected poor scripts gave continuous flops except for Vettaikaran. Vazhkai oru vattam jaikaraven thoppan thokkaraven jaippan. Hopefully Surya selects better scripts

I am a fan to nice tamil movies not individuals. It is a thumb rule: Content illathavantha koovi koovi vikkanum. Best example Anjaan vs Jigarthanda. -Lingusamy and surya ivalo build up kodukkum podhe ithu mokka padam nu theringha vishayam -These guys trick people with build-up and trailers for business. They don't respect their profession and never care of people who spend money -Iniyavathu build-up pannum podhe "alert" aaidunga makkalae Since trailers and build-up were boring, nan intha padatha pakka koodathunu ennikko mudivu panniten. It is a thumb rule: Content illathavantha koovi koovi vikkanum. Best example Anjaan vs Jigarthanda.
-Lingusamy and surya ivalo build up kodukkum podhe ithu mokka padam nu theringha vishayam
-These guys trick people with build-up and trailers for business. They don't respect their profession and never care of people who spend money
-Iniyavathu build-up pannum podhe "alert" aaidunga makkalae
Since trailers and build-up were boring, nan intha padatha pakka koodathunu ennikko mudivu panniten.
