Oh, wow!! I’m sitting at my “art table” and getting ready to paint and this bird painting lesson popped up. I’ve been watercolor painting for six years. I started after my husband passed away. I had always wanted to learn to paint with watercolors but my work schedule intervened. What I really want to say is that your UA-cam channel and painting lesson is the BEST I’ve come across in all those years ago that I started painting! Thank you so very much for sharing your work.❤
Oh wow thank you so much x
Lovely, so fun. I spend my afternoons painting at the kitchen table as I keep an eye on the bird feeders outside the window! Thanks for the video!
❤ super fun! Thank you Harriet
I can see some great Christmas cards coming from this method!
I think so too!
This was amazing seeing you paint these beautiful birds in this very loose way! I love the outcome! I woke up today deciding I was going to paint the west coast Scrub Jays that visit our feeder. They came out better than I expected!
This is so fabulous Harriet! Definitely an exercise in not overthinking which I desperately need! THANK YOU! ❤❤
You're so welcome!
I’m so glad you’re doing birds today . I just did some watercolor of birds 2 days ago. So I’m happy to see if I need to make some changes …
Wonderful!
Harriett , I was wondering if you would do a seasonal event 🗓️calendar ….. it would be so nice with the new year here if you could do spring , summer , fall , winter , flowers and different little pictures in the calendar. For instance spring could have gardening tools , wheel barrow , pots ….you get the idea ! That would be so much fun …just a thought for different inspirations….love ya Harriet
Thanks! Love this!!!
You are so welcome and thank you so much!
Dear Harriet, this is a wonderful lesson in loose watercolour painting, no pressure , just get the paint and the colours down, and hey presto!! a beautiful example of garden birds with tons more attractive features then any detailed ornithological paintings 😂 nothing wrong with them its just these are fast and fun ❤ I have signed up to the survey so i will be here with my paints and pens at the ready 😊xx
Thank you so much! Have a wonderful time watching the birds!
You are so talented! Great tutorial.

Thank you! Will do!
Amazing! It’ll be years before I can do that but will give it a go.
Would love to be brave enough to have a go Harriett!
Amazing! Your 'scribbles' looks amazing!!! I'm impressed.
Thank you so much!
Wonderful video! Thank you!
Wow, that is amazing, fairly new at this watercolour art, have yet to make a bird look like a bird, lol, must be trying too hard 🙌🏻. Thank you for sharing ❤
You can do it!
I love this style.
Wonderful! You have captured their character just with a few strokes. Especially nuthatch is brilliant.
I love birds and this is one of my favorite ways to see them painted - loose and sketchy!! 😍
I totally agree!
Lovely!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Lovely and timely!! Thank you!!❤
You are so welcome!
OMG!! How amazing you are. I hope someday have this technique. I love it!!
You can do it!
I really enjoy your channel! You are so up beat and uplifting - you make me feel like I can do it too! Looking forward to giving this a try - they turned out beautifully
Thank you so much!
You make it look so easy
You really need to make another “Draw Your Way”…I love it!
Yes I was thinking that as I was painting them!
Stunning and magical! ❤ you are so very talented :)
Thank you! Cheers!
💜💜💜
Love it ❤❤❤❤bravissima
Wonderful! Thanks so much for the inspiration!
You are so welcome!
Gorgeous.......I enjoy watching your loose style of painting. I can paint a hummingbird. These three are a bit of a challenge. Thank you for the challenge. Always amazed with your talent. 👍💗👍
Thanks so much 😊
Merci beaucoup 💜 🌌 💜
Very good video thankyou. I’m sure my birds would turn out all out of proportion but I might give it a try today. X
Have fun!
Love this! I did the Nuthatch but no ink, just "loose and fast" watercolor. I've painted the nuthatch from "A Year of Watercolor" many times ... and drew it, ink and wash also as I see them a lot and it and chickadee are my favorites. Anyway, will do the ink and wash and keep my eye out. No bird feeder as I have a cat :) but the birdies are in my many trees. I've been wanting to paint a woodpecker. We have the big Pileated Woodpeckers (think Woody the Woodpecker) and I will try this style. Thanks Harriet! (and Ant and Crumble)
Got to love a nuthatch :)
@@deWintonPaperCo Additionally, I have tried the technique on other subjects: barn, mountains & lake, trees ... it is really helping me to paint in the looser style that I have going for ... and always seeming to overwork. Thank you, thank you !!
this is a fantastic video, one of my faves of yours ever. wonderful birds. thank you
Great exercise! Will it work just as well to look at a photograph with a timer? Like 30 sec or so?
Yes, absolutely
Merci !
Thanks Florence!
Thank you Harriet for all your tutorials. I’m new to watercolour painting. Let’s say it is a work in progress but I enjoy it and I’ve been able to replicate some of your paintings. Sort of ! ☺️
We had a male cardinal fly into the house. Before I could get my dogs put away the one snatched it mid flight. I was traumatized. Thank goodness my husband was home
❤
We had an old husky who did that a couple of times. It was very sad but she was also doing what came naturally to her.
