I have always loved Chilean New Song and this reminds me of the indigenous flutes which were incorporated into a lot of the music beginning during the 60s and intensifying during the political upheavals of the 70s onwards. Think Inti Illimani, Quilapayún and other groups and soloists. If you want to follow the musical path begin with the sublime Violeta Parra who connected to indigenous folklore. It helps with studying history too, just as another pathway. But the pan pipes and South American flutes are beautiful to hear, always.
What a wonderful collaboration! Thank you 😊

thank you so much. i love a lot of that music you mentioned so thanks for calling it in. in fact I lived in Chile for a short exchange program many years ago and was introduced to much of the beautiful culture of the Andes. The quena (coming soon to Didge Project) is a typical flute of some of those groups, as well as the antara/zampoña (pan flute). violet parra is a legend and "gracias a la vida" is one of the greatest songs of that era -AJ
