He was a superb human being, full of warmth, intelligence and welshness. I remember watching an interview with him aroundc 1984/5. He was describing the suicide of his father. It was profound to say the least. Ray made you proud to be Welsh. He had all the attributes of a cultured man without the pomposity or affectation.
