I love this performance! Heartbreaking.
I've always loved Dwayne Croft's voice. I think he has been the Robert Merrill of our time -- an American lyric baritone who, though perhaps not the deepest interpreter, has a consistently rich, focused, smooth, and resonant sound.
One of the most beautiful and expressive baritone voices in opera. The voice is focused and elegant.
This is the most beautiful Baritone aria ever written.
such wonderfully colourful orchestral writing... that call of the seabirds echoed by the piccolo... lovely singing!
What a Billy he makes!
-Dramatic baritone singing this Lyric Baritone aria and it sounds very lovely. Great interpretation.
So beautiful....Looking forward to his mature work at THE MET in LES TROYENS this season.
i love this. thank you so much.
thanx for this video
Sitting down too.
Only surpassed by Samuel Ramey singing Assur's mad scene in Semiramide practically lying on the floor.
Nice but argh, you left off the final three notes of the piccolo that ends the phrase.
Diamonds and Pears!
Where can I get the full dvd? Seems to be a telecast. Someone inform me please.
its the only beautiful part/aria in Budd........except Britten has to ruin it with that damn high Eb clarinet
How much does it cost a year to feed that high horse you ride around on?
