@@Izya__ I was never 100% happy with the amp sounds on the Stomp. IMHO, Boss GT's amps sound better - even in the stock presets. The Core, in general, is easier to dial in than the Stomp. I know: big shock lol. Of course it's all very subjective. Your mileage may vary 😊 Cheers
Thank you soooo much for spending some time with the CORE. I use it because I'm a latency snob, but there's not as much discussion about patches for it as the HX and Fractal stuff. I wish BOSS would add synths to it. With my live presets I'm using the same amp and cab on all of them, set to stompbox mode so settings change across all patches, I use different chains of eq, compression and drive before the amp model but using the same amp/cab kind of keeps it in line so it's not all over the place when I switch presets.
Great to see you using one of these again, I took a leap of faith and sold most of my pedals and bought one about a year ago. I'm really happy with it and I think it sounds terrific, the interface is the weakest point but it's not terrible, it just takes some learning. I don't know if it's underrated or not as a unit but it's been a great fit for me. I have a SY-200 running into one of the inserts, and an RC-5 after it and I have a hard time thinking of a sound that I can't get.
I sold my Kemper and FM9 for a GT 1000 Core. Figured it'd be good enough and super tiny for practice. I actually PREFER the tones I get vs the Kemper and Fractal stuff.
I don’t own the GT1000 but I’ve played it. I have owned the helix and FM3 and I would agree that the boss tones can be excellent and are easier to achieve than either the fractal or helix. The boss definitely had a more immediate feel to me anyways. Any time I fired up the helix or fractal I was guaranteed to spend 20-30 minutes pressing buttons and turning knobs rather than playing.
@@ibanezman1025I have a Helix Floor and a GT1000 Core. Happy to love both. For specific reasons.Of having two separate rigs. The Helix took all those updates for me to finally just enjoy it.
Beautifull tones and great unit. I have some limited experience with the HX Stomp and I do like the layout but I'm certainly drawn to this Boss unit. I hope you do more with it in the future.
GT-1000 core is indeed underrated. The only thing to me that lacks is the UI. If you put Boss' unit with Line6's interface, to me it would put it over the top. The only other nitpick is it needs balanced outs.

Is the 32bit not the audio dynamic range rather than the processing power? 32bits being more values to represent a samples magnitude as apposed to 24bits.
@@PainterDans When talking about audio equipment the sampling format is more important than the processor since a 16bit processor can process 32bit audio in the same way that a 32bit process can process 128bit integers. The Boss GT1000 may very likely be using a 32bit processor but that is not important to musicians. What is important is the ability to process high quality audio without losing precision, this is the 32bit audio in the same sense that a DAW uses 32bit.
Still listening to the video, so you may answer this already, but how does this seem to compare to the GX-100 in terms of processing power? number of blocks / parallel paths etc?

The problem with the core and the GT-1000 is that they are stuck with only one reverb block and one master delay block. The GX is supposed to be an answer for that, however it seem the GX is running with a lower DSP than the GTs.

am i crazy to want to pair one of these with an HX stomp? I'm loving the helix sounds and UI, but I still use it with a DD500, so a gt1000 to get most of the 500 series sounds would be pretty great.
Hello John. Thank you for the great content. I have read numerous comparisons of the HX Stomp and GT 1000 Core. Generally speaking, the HX Stomp tends to win in terms of ease of use while the GT 1000 Core gets the nod in terms of feel due to its extreme low latency. Would you agree with this comparison? Now that you have extensive experience with both units, would you rate them as more less equal overall? Or is the HX Stomp still a clear winner?
Really organic sounding lead tones. I recently traded my GT100 for a Helix Floor, and I'm wondering whether I made a mistake. I recently listened back to some live recordings I made with the GT100, and the lead sound was great. Haven't put the Helix through its paces yet to see if I can replicate that sound
