The Kardeshev scale assumes humanity has an unending need for energy, but achieving Level 7 on the Barrow scale would obviate the need to use solar systems themselves as energy sources.
Dude said type 7 has to be a single entity. So the more advanced you go the more towards a single all powerful being becomes rational. Er.... i think we already have a name for him.
By the way, according to the law of conservation of energy, at least as much energy must be invested in the production of antimatter as can be extracted.
If you could kardashev the controlled harnessing of Hawking radiation coming out of a black hole, what would that do? Would that make dark matter as a byproduct? Completely wild theory.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Harnessing it for energy would be incredibly difficult, as the radiation is weak and requires being near a black hole. For creating dark matter as a byproduct, that’s an area of active research, but scientists don’t currently have evidence that any energy processes, like Hawking radiation, directly create dark matter.
@InsaneCuriosity Hypothetical: What would happen to a black hole with its hawking radiation reflected back on itself? Like a Dyson sphere. Would harnessing gravity or said radiation (like would be easily accomplished on the surface of a black hole encompassing Dyson sphere) be a more efficient environment than a Dyson sphere with a stars worth of energy inside? One would be heated like an oven. The other would be heated like a microwave.
We have never generated antimatter that we can actually use for anything? Ever heard of a PET scan? That stands for positron emission tomography. This means that it emits a type of antimatter particle known as a positron to create the image.
