I got mine yesterday. Very happy with it. It’s not cheap but it’s a step up from other Seikos I’ve owned. Can confirm it looks excellent on a rubber strap too.

I purchased the spb151j1 last week. Nice watch but the hour hand doesn't align with the minutes and seconds hand on the hour. It is off to the left by a minute or so.
I have an 8-inch wrist and wonder if the dimensions might be too small for me, but on the other hand it is so classic looking I may bite the bullet and acclimate to a smaller watch. It's not the 42 width that makes it small but the lugs, which I believe are 46.
So tempted. I think for this quality, price is justified. People make a "big deal" on seiko alignment issue. Even big swiss brand also have alignment issue.
I'm deciding between a new BB or the Seiko Willard and a Longines heritage military if you could choose between having the two watches your Longines Compressor and the Seiko Willard or the one Black Bay Blue what would you choose?

I really don’t like the green colors on the pictures at least and haven’t seen it in person. I’d go for the iconic look of the black. I prefer the army green of the King Turtle.

Overall a great watch! I like the size, the look and I was not expecting to like the bracelet but it seems very good. Obviously I need to see one in real life but I hope the dial is not too grey. But wtf again with the misaligned bezel insert? If this is somewhat acceptable on the entry level it is not on a +1000$ watch (Seiko is not the only one culprit). Ceramic insert would be great but not in a shiny finish, there is some good example with mat finish ceramic insert that look fantastic and more in line with a tool watch. Don’t get me wrong, I love it and probably buy one.
99% of bezels don’t align. Rolex, Grand Seiko, Seiko... all the same. GMTs, divers, they just can’t align the bloody thing. I went through hell and back with the GS service center on that one. It’s not “within their spec” to be able to align. True story. You just gotta live with it. Neither of my two Tudor BB58s align just right.

Why do you buy watches with such imperfections, especially the Tudor. This is supposed to be a higher quality brand. Return it and buy something else. As long as people continue to buy watches with these inexcusable mistakes, why would companies like Seiko, Tudor, etc., correct them.

Well it’s not a small watch so I think you’d be fine. The SLA version is much larger if you have the deep pockets for it.

Thank you! It’s 17cm, very flat so accommodates 42mm watches quite easily.
Finally caved and ordered mine today. And a waffle strap. Because this watch needs a waffle strap. Maybe I should have bought stock in Uncle Seiko.
