I haven’t even started playing it yet and I’ve already liked the video. “Ties That Bind” is one of the best tracks on the new record.
Matt is such an amazing drummer. He's not the fastest metal drummer, but his control and precision is incredibly. He serves the music. Truly one of the best drummers to ever grace our ears.

Matt’s mad sick behind the kit.. this whole band has sick musicians. August Burns Red blends, low end crushing licks, groovy rhythm with beautiful and melodic lead harmonics with and without tapping and there’s not many metal bands that can combine all those particular elements creating some quality records at the highest levels instrumentally…
Tbh I just recently started to check out August Burns Red a few days ago. And the drum videos are what got me interested to give a record or two a listen in it’s entirety.. and I enjoyed the music. I love the groovy atmospheric vibe that you guys put into the rhythm guitar riffs and definitely Matt’s drum playing style.. and it’s pulled off masterfully on every album that I have listened to so far… some people just are born with the ability to slay behind a drum kit.. like predetermined musical instrument destiny..
When a metal band is capable of creating incredible groove that makes you move and headbang to the track instantly
It makes it a precious gem amongst a sea of mediocrity in a lot of metal music anymore… so much stuff that is recommended both on here and on my Spotify playlists just bore me and I lose interest..

Build up to heavy melodic multi stage rhythm and lead guitar riffing
Crushing super low breakdown
Similar melodic riffing
Repetitive sweeping , tapping , sweep tapping, that ultimately is poorly written with no actual solo. Just a harmonic scale or two played at the highest speed of the player possible and toss in a few ascending and descending whammy dives
Back to multi stage heavy melodic riffing into same low end single note or open string breakdown and close the song out that way..
So much metal follows that foundation for writing a song…

Dude it really does make a difference. If White Washed comes on, my next mile is a minute faster lol. Seriously though, I listened to the new ABR during my run two days ago and did two miles. My first mile was my fastest recorded since high school and I graduated in 09.

@Benjamin Malave Jr. I think it’s easy to gain appreciation from an instrumental album just as much as a regular one. I’m not arguing, but I perceive feelings differently from the two. They are two separate experiences. And it’s more content so why the hell not make an instrumental album, right?
@Benjamin Malave Jr. Oh Jake's the man, how could you not love that grownling teddy bear, but like @Malfurion said, sometimes when I'm at work, I just play the instrumental albums in the back. It's a bit more difficult to work when Jakes angelic voice overwhelms your lack of focus and next thing you catch yourself growling with coworkers raising eyebrows ;)
