@@MsJubjubbird many of those other cultural dances at least had some sort of homage to that culture. Ok I am going to ask for a miracle, Abby could you please give New Zealand (Kiwi's) especially Maori, an APOLOGY for ignorance of the Haka which is important to us on many levels and units us as one like nothing else does & is more respected than our National Anthem. The Haka is not strictly a war dance. Its acknowledgment of challenge & respect. Watch an All Blacks (who have 2 Hakas) game of rugby & see the responses of the other teams. Even the video of a haka at a wedding or Jonah Lomu's funeral as a sign of respect & honour also known as Mana. It had none of this hence an apology. Haka is not jumping around a stage. I really now understand why this tradition of ours should be protected more & the argument of trademark to protect it's TRUE understanding & value. No I am not Maori but Kiwi. You can go on about the individual dancers if you want, but show respect to the culture who built the powerfull legacy of Haka Your response Abby is welcome.
P.S The All Blacks who are incredibly powerful athletes have lessons to perform the Haka & had their newest version especially done for them. Fiji also have a Haka which is great to see aswell.
I'm from New Zealend and do Kapa Haka which is Maori (New Zealend Culture) dancing. Back when there were wars Maori used Kapa Haka as protection. Anyone who was out of sync was the first to die.

Easy it wasn't a proper Haka, end of confusion?
@@jillfoster900 it seemed like an African celebration dance
OMG I actually love ginanina she’s so supportive
Choreos in new season are amazing
This looks more like an African contemporary dance than the Haka.
This video really made me realise that gianina is so nice and suportive 💖💖💖
I thought Hannah could only do a side aerial but I think she did a back handspring at 1.22 . Might be wrong but everyone either did a front aerial or a back handspring. The show made it seem she was really bad at acro
Poor Hannah went early on the penché part :c
I really don’t like that they put the spotlight on her. I feel for Hannah 😥
Haha that's not a spotlight, they just edited it to make the mistake more clear to the viewers ;)
absolutely nothing in this dance resembles or was influenced by Haka... the movement, music, clothing, colours and the make up were all wrong. I get that this was going to be a commercialised version but the lack of research is appalling
Whahaha episode 2 "abby is gotta yell at me"
no one:
no one at all:
not even new zealanders:
dance moms: LETS MAKE A DANCE ABOUT HAKA
maddie:it don’t bite
season 8 girls:YES IT DOOO
I'm from nz and this is not like the haka at all not even the costumes
Caitlin Wilson ikr
Hi, a year late, but if they dance in the correct costumes it would be to hard to dance in
Dammit, I thought they were going to perform 'Kapa O Pango' in their tiny little kid voices.
That would have been cute. Oh I can say a lot about that dance.
I'm from new Zealand that's not a haka but their dance is amazing
Gianina is so smart and nice with her partners
Gianina at last part wasn’t a brat it proved it
I'm from New Zealand, and this does not resemble a Haka at all. A Haka is a, war dance, this reminded me of Where The Wild Things Are 😂😂
Hello from 2020
Bro if they didn’t make it so obvious that hanana messed up I would’ve thought she was supposed to do that
Gianina is ALWAYS boosting her teammates. I wish her mother did make her so cocky/bratty because I think she is such a good kid otherwise
okay so clearly Abby has never watched the Haka performed? This wasn’t it... like I get it’s meant to be based on it but it didn’t resemble it at all.
Very cool!
This was not Hakka
i really don’t see how this resembles a haka.
Cause it wasn't a haka
Abby clearly didn't do her homework
She clearly looked up tribal dance and went first thing she saw.
WOW GIANINA AND HER MOM ARE THE OPPOSITE THING
I can tell u now that uhmmm that's nothing like the haka . I'm from New Zealand and both of my parents are maori and we do the haka cos that's our native dance or i8ke songs
Totally agree & go for it. 😀
Bruh how was this supposed to resemble a Haka??? I was just in New Zealand and we watched a traditional Haka and this dance was nothing like it. I don't think Abby really understands what it is and just thinks it's a war dance, but there's so much more that goes into it and it is actually a welcome dance as well and is used for more than just before battle. She really should have done her research. The dance was good and all but it doesn't resemble a Haka.
Thank you as I found the whole thing distasteful to Maori & the Mana of Haka. ABBY it is a type of dance Not a title of a dance. Abby you owe an apology for blatant ignorance of Haka to the Polynesian cultures and maybe you will learn that's its not about Abby's ego. Ignorance is no excuse.
If Hannah was front and center her doing the penche early would’ve actually looked kinda good
Poor Hannah! It's really sad that the producers single the miskakes and mess-ups ups... Just to produce the right amount of drama.
GiaNina is a really sweet person the show just makes her look bratty I know her from Instagram and I've seen her in the dance comps and she's acctually really sweet and her mom is too and j am telling the truth
