I love my R5 bundle with formula mod. But now after 10 months I just bought the r12 with the fsr wheel. I bought the r5 because I didn't know if I would love the simracing in general. And now I am all in 😂. The r5 is the perfect 'beginner' bundle!
@@bartvanlaan2641 Nice!! My R12 arrived today and my R5 bundle has been sold to the next lucky owner. SimRacing is just so much more fun with the right gear. What can you tell me about your experience with the R12?
Yesterday I installed it and the rest of the evening I was playing with the settings 😂. So I can't say much about it yet. But what I can say is that I have to adapt to this stronger wheel base. I think it will take some time to get used to it.
@@bartvanlaan2641 OK cool. Well there is definitely a video being made once I have installed this bad boy. I am very excited. This is supposed to be the sweet spot. So let's see...if that is true.
I just bought it on Black Friday. This is my first wheel and I just get into this hobby. Even i set the strength at 80% it is still very strong for me. I don't quite understand why people complain it is not strong enough and u need 15 nm to enjoy this hobby.
I have the thrustmaster TX with upgraded T3PA pedals and shifter. But I just ordered this bundle with the clutch add on as well as the brake upgrade. A friend that has the r12 recommended this one and told me that there’s a big difference. Let’s see when it comes!
I had exactly what you had before getting the R5 bundle. I was blown away. You my friend are in for a treat. Those T3PA pedals are utter rubbish. But if you are like me...the R12 will be calling your name in a year's time. Have fun man. And welcome to the world of Direct Drive. 💪😎
@ well, I heard that you can tune up the r5 to an r7 with some parts. Don’t know if that’s rumors, but again I’m sure I’ll want more at some point. But thanks for the heads up! Can’t wait to receive it. TX served me good for the past couple of years, but it’s time to sell and move on to the moza ecosystem and direct drive. I’m still keeping my th8a shifter.
I've just ordered it for my 5 year old (his profile will have to be turned down to a very low strength). I'm looking forward to using it myself at full power as it seems the best about without spending more than a reasonable used car lol. Hope you enjoy yours. Pro tip get the pedal springs and clutch upgrade and aswell as racing see if there's driving test simulator or teaching then when you are old enough to drive you'll only need a few lessons and study for your theory closer to the time! You'll need one lesson and you're instructor will be shocked to be putting you in for your test, he'll be thinking you've been stealing cars.
I've had mine over a year and not a single issue not a problem or nothing it's been pretty good which I'm going to upgrade later to a bigger one but it did fantastic
Sim racing yes or no. R5 is perfect for answering without breaking the bank. Other reason to use is if you don’t have room for permanent setup. Mine is mounted to a Playseat Challenge and the whole assembly just folds up for storage. I also use the brake mod and a KS wheel
So it works good with Playseat Challenge? I don't have much room and don't want to buy a new seat. My g920 is getting old. Sometimes it skippes gears and when I do really fast movements it breaks the calibration😂 Bought it when it came out and told myself when it breaks I am going to buy a new one. Well here we are.
This setup has been good enough to get me within .2 seconds of qualifying in LFM with ACC. A load cell pedal set is probably coming my way for Xmas. My skill set continues to rise, though I don’t really spend more than a couple hours weekly. I am also about to turn 79 yeas old
I am new, in the sim racing world. I do have a steer but its a beat up old steer from what 10 years ago maby even older, so devently want to upgrade to the moza R5, doing allot of research on it at the moment.
Don't understand why direct drive wheels still don't come with a real sized 14 inch wheel. These 11 inch things make you feel like you're driving a toy or a go kart at best. Especially in vr the wheel size don't match you're visual which takes away from the immersion
Very good thanks! Bathurst looking good. My finger is hovering over the buy now button but I just need to find out if it will work with Grand Prix Legends which is all I drive
Would you like me to install it on my pc and give it a shot and let you know? If have the R12 now...but if it works with the R12, it will work with the R5. Let me know and I will give it a bash. Just need to find a copy of the game.
@@virtualmotorheads very kind thanks !, I just asked over at GP Laps too so I'm going to find out some way :) I will chase up the install link if you haven't got a CD
Yes you most definitely can. Must just not get one of the heavy and wide wheels...as it will effect the forces you experience. Check out my Moza R5 and KS wheel review on my channel.
@@Moth665 Hmmm. I hear what you saying. But sometimes these wheel bases don't even last a year. This is just to show that even after a year, after many many hours of racing. This bundle still kicks ass. But it might not be enough for everyone, one year later. So you need to make sure, you are happy with what you buy. After 8 months, I wanted something more!
