    This is so perfect! Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us! Your videos helped me a lot in learning and understanding programming languages, especially Java and now I feel prepared enough to search for a Job. A week ago I started to search about Java EE and frameworks, and I started to search and learn about Spring, but unfortunately when I searched through your tutorials, I couldn't find anything about Spring and with those said, i hope you will make a tutorial about Spring framework(most of the Junior Java Developer jobs i saw required at least basic knowledge about Spring). P.S I know there are a lot of tutorials on youtube and stuff(especially Java or Spring or databases or etc), but for me, they are far below your teaching level. You're awesome!

      Thank you very much :) I can tell you what I learned. When you are first starting UA-cam values quantity over quality. It sucks, but that is just the way it is.
      1. To be successful you pretty much have to make 3 videos minimum per week.
      2. Make videos on what you are most passionate about and if the passion changes make different videos
      3. Understand up front that it will take about 6 months to start building an audience unless you have the greatest personality ever
      4. Show your face and your personality (Don't do what I do)
      5. Watch people that make videos like you want to make and emulate them (Every artist copies when they begin)
      6. Get a good microphone and edit your videos to avoid dead air
      7. Don't waste money (Your phone camera is probably way good enough)
      Those are just some tips off the top of my head. Here is an example of a new UA-camr that is killing it right now and really shines in most every way ua-cam.com/channels/ojVsOfwIRPbQsb2HzR67NQ.htmlvideos

    Hello Derek, Im struggling with the MySQL installation, spent about 1.5 hours searching for a 5.7 ver, now that i found it, it looks nothing like the connector(which i had to search for an another 30mins, because on the official website, only the .msi is preferred and accessible easy) in your vid.
    The cmd prompt sql commands are not working either. Maybe some environmental variables are missing? No world from the setup in nether of your vids.
    Yeah, I understand, that you have a LOT to cover, but sometimes the pace is just WAY too fast, and to assume, that anybody could overcome things, like the search and installation of a 2014version of a program.
    But anyhow thank you for the hard work!

    • @derekbanas
      @derekbanas  5 років тому

      It's all about legal issues. Oracle gave the rights of JEE to the Eclipse foundation but forced it to change the name to Jakarta. I plan on covering both over the course of this series if the series is popular.

    Java is C++ after OSHA

    • @derekbanas
      @derekbanas  5 років тому +3

      I agree Java isn't perfect. C# stole from Java and then improved it. I wish Oracle would wake up and steal some great ideas from C#. Neither will ever be C++ though. They are just completely different languages.
