YEEEAAARS ago, we had an RX8 in the shop for repairs (collision repair) and it constantly refused to start..........yeh.... We called the local Mazda dealer and after explaining our issue he told us to get a piece of washer hose and there's a port on the intake manifold to connect the hose to and squirt a bunch of brake fluid into it, then wind it over...... We actually thought he was taking the piss at first but no, it worked. Worked reallllllly good as a fog machine too.

I’ve seen different info on forums about how much variance between each rotor face is acceptable, but I’ve found similarly after comp testing my 8 that there is indeed only about 5% variance of cold vs hot test. Agree on sellers often hiding numbers. And it doesn’t help that even dealers or whatever shops are available often mess up the tests too
Also a good thing is to just try to get a test drive (if the car even runs lol) I hate when people have a car up and they won't even let you drive it 😆 This makes me wanna test my 8 now haha
People get so hyped up about compression numbers and what they should be. As long as an engine is relatively even across all faces and between each rotor, that’s what’s important. Another great video!
Ya you are teaching some people to fake compression but you are also teaching a lot more people how to not get scammed. It's benefiting much more people because most people are not trying to scam others. The percentage of people using this info to scam is just much lower.
In 2004 I had a brand new mazda3s with similar interior to that rx8 and it was so beautiful back then. Still looks pretty good 20 years later but I always had compliments on my interior from anyone that rode in it. Mazda killed it with that stuff. It's too bad the mazda3speed only came in the hatchback which I hated so much. The mazda3s 5 door was the best looking in my opinion.
What should my 91 turbo compression be . I have one of those testers haven't used it yet. I know got hard to start after a dyno run. She made 240 at the wheel. Drove her home and was a bitch to start. I have omp and I premixed. Hoping its a plug issue
beam problem for the pedal often one less or badly connected wire in the plug on the trotle corp, one less and it does not move!check all the line! it may move until the contact is on. nice vidéo ! next one test compression after used off sea foam/WD40 or similar product to see or not the effect? can you also make an endoscopic video of the rotors to have a relationship between the carbon deposits and the compression?
i cant explain how much i like the Mazda Rx8 .. question for the rest of the world What edition of Rx8 your country had for sale when the Rx8 was still selling ? in Greece they had the base model and one called Challenge ? or cosmo depending the dealrship they had 30-40 hp diff nothing esle
like every one,one got 4 port engine192hp and the other 6 port engine 231hp,some got a 6 port engine gen 2(231hp) for the last one(big change is the oil injection).
@@anyau why so much ? here they cost 130 Euro a year and here from the special version we got only the last 40th UNV. we didnt get Mz tune no spirit R no mazda speed no nemesis or any of those anyway
@@peterga3658 I was talking to my girlfriends' dad from Greece, he talked about how the rotaries are more popular in Greece because the engine is so small and less displacement is less tax. I'd guess the tax is calculated with different parameters in UK but I also wouldn't know and I'm curious of the answer
@@formerdumbkidlook im from Greece. Till 2010 of october every car that has been sold was taxed based on cc so the cost is 135 euros per year.. the R3 version after october of 2010 is taxed based on the new emissions system. So the tax is 1050 euros per year. Crazy right?

Hey can i get your help & opinion on a issue i currently have? Streetported 13B FD sat for years, 3 of 4 spark plugs were siezed in, last one damaged spark hole threads, now plug only goes in at a angle and half way. What would be the smartest fix? Clean and retap? New or used housing, about to send for a rebuild anyways as the one the last owner had done leaked oil right away. Thank you for all your help and videos 🤙🏻🙏🏻

We got them all in UK.
Unfortunately they cost £800 a year to tax so no one wants them
