I’m not too sure I can help 100% but I can try to give some tips that might help!
I’m not sure if it’s just me, but the game audio doesn’t seem to sync 100% with the button timing so it might help adjusting your timing settings so that they match for you visually and audibly.
Playing at a faster speed can help you rely more on your intuition rather than focusing on when the note will hit visually. If fast is too fast for you to visually process then slightly fast is a nice in between.
Darkening the background can help you see notes you might miss due to a bright background.
I think the main thing is to know the song well and it should come naturally. The button configuration is kind of awkward for me personally too, so just be sure to keep trying and practicing! You’ll get used to it in no time :)
