I have ordered a few of these to test out how they were. A few are ok and "good enuff" but the issue is the cost of the real MAAP, RAPHA, etc gear. Since its so expensive people will always try to cut corners as I did. I own real RAPHA kits and understand the quality difference but is the quality difference worth the price difference ???? The answer to that is not all the time. Some of the companies are over charging for these items. At the end of the day I will probably end up just getting quality kits but not everyone can afford that or has sponsored gear.
If you want cheaper kit, buy cheaper kit. If you want MAAP, buy MAAP. Knock offs are just junk, look like junk, make people think MAAP is junk, make you look like junk.
There is good kit at most every price point that isn't a knock off. There is absolutely no reason to support unethical business practices that are flat out illegal in many countries.
I agree with you. The cheap chinese stuff has no backing, no research, no investment in materials, you pay for what you get, stuff stitched together by seamstress women in sweat shops. With MAAP La Passione Assos you pay for the whole brand, research, new materials, less sales, etc, it is expensive and there is a lot in the cost, its black and white.
I think same as watches etc, also it doesnt harm the brand, when i was in the Phillipines there were fake watches everywhere, but i never saw so many rolex stores in my life?
It would be nice if the good brands were more reasonable and sales were wider, then rip offs would have less room?
I’m too stingy to buy brands like MAAP or Rapha and I’m also too stingy to waste my money on fake stuff 😅

Maap is very nice though. If it comes on sale its worth buying. I buy nothing full price.

@@BrotherlyLove12 The fake brand names are exactly the problem: If you don´t know the clothes of MAAP (or any other major brand) and you see someone wearing this fake stuff with the brand name on it and you look closer and think "uh... thats some poor quality jersey". Then it is likely that you will never spend your money on an original jersey of that brand. And further you will tell all your cycling friends: Don´t buy the stuff of this brand. It´s a waste of money.

@@BrotherlyLove12 But it clearly did matter in this case where the genuine brand was much better quality. It's the whole reason why they even bothered to make a fake copy, because the brand actually makes quality products - no one buys fake copies of mediocre brands... 🤦
Aliexpress & large % of the people would thank you for modelling and the attention you assist in bringing to them. large % of the people is happy to put up with your issues comparing the two costs.

The santic and Rion are decent shorts quality I've found. The jerseys are ok on Ali if you buy the more expensive versions but the cheap stuff is not good.

Asking about the handlebars. On your gravelbike, how wide do you like your handle bar to be? I just got a gravelbike, and my roadbike has a 40cm handlebar. The gravelbike came with a 46cm and some flare also. Its looking like a tank. Should I get a smaller handlebar? Thanks!

Tip: Always drink beer poured into glass. You will have less carbonation in your stomach or bloating, and it will taste better. Everything else is perfect :)

in my country this product only sells this like aroud 20-25$ for the whole kit with bib shorts. the original maap here cost around 160-180$ for the whole kit.
Hoe hou je de kamer schoon met de fietsen en ketting insmeren enz. Ik doe dat in mijn garage maar zelfs daar druppelt er altijd wel wat op de vloer. Of heb je een speciale vloer die waar je het zo schoonmaakt?
Sealant- can't remember who by, but it was suggested to me to add some ground black pepper to the sealant in your tyre as an biodegradeable thing which will help block a hole... no idea if it helps, but doesn't seem to hinder! (&less environmentally awful than glitter which was also suggested!)

Nice video man. To find bike clothes that fit is not easy. Faked clothes made it more difficult. So I will always try the real one. I have a few pieces of Ali express kit that I bought when I first started cycling. Since then I have purchased multiple quality pieces bibs an jerseys. In the beginning it was ok and gave me time to save up the dollars for the good stuff. There is absolutely I big difference in the long run. Seems ripped and zippers broke on the cheap stuff and the fit is not great.
Ripp off copies are everywhere, even big companies ripping off small companies. I know a small handlebars manufacturer, has patent, but big companies copied it. Same with photos, people steal them say they are theirs, people just say sue me...... So what are you to do?

I'm hesitant on spending big bucks on kits due to the fact that a quick visit to the ground will shred that sexy lycra and fuck it up.
I have a fake rapha outfit from Ali and the bibshort is bad but the shirt is very good
what I can say is that if you had near the same quality on that jersey as like the maap jersey it would be very bad since the ali prices are about 20% or less the price of a maap jersey...
Nice bit of bike maintenance, good luck in your race. You get what you pay for, many sites selling “cheap” branded clothing but very cheeky using photos of the real vendor. Good vlog showing the actual quality of what turns up in the post.🤢🙈

I wear some ali staff but it's made by chinese factory RION. Quality is so so but at least they don't try to fake any brands.

I bought some bib shorts for 10$ from Aliexpress. They're great.
I have bought a few items from Ali, more interested in different colours. But, you are correct, the quality is pretty standard and every single item I have bought from many different sellers, ALL have the same label..??
Its like there is a pool of material or products and all the sellers dip in and sell the stuff.
Black bibs become more grey the tighter they are.
The fit is pretty poor. You take your pick, guess the size and add two up, then wait 20 days.
Some items I have are OK and for my daily rides, they suffice, but I have premium shorts from Assos etc and they are always my go to, they are just far superior.
Also the pictures are all copied from La Passione, Maap, etc, the product you get is rarely what the picture showed. The asian bib shorts for example come way up the chest??

My husband recieved fake headphones made of cheap plastic. My experience was equaly bad, I tried to get refunded for some clothe items which were horrible and completely different from what i asked for and they did not reply to my messages. I feel robbed.

Off course the real deal is better, if it wasn't then it would be ridicoulous to buy a jersey or a bib for over 200 euro ;-) However there are plenty of other brands that have similar quality clothing for a lower price. But it doesn't have Maap or Pas Normal printed on them... 🙂

Plenty of good value brands. Mapp put a lot of effort into their brand, if you don't like that don't buy it. However it should be totally illegal to run a website ripping off these brands. It should be blocked.
The worst quality issue with these knockoffs is the zippers. They will not last.

I have fake MAAP bibs. To be honest they are pretty shit. The logo is not even straight. The fabric is cheap and not really elastic. Only reason I bought them was that they were the only bibs available in blue. I would never buy real MAAP so the chinese should just remove the branding and sell customization options. I would love to have my own brand. Sillyest thing on alix is the ralpha or whatever. Who would wear that?

Don't blame aliexpress ,blame the sellers on this website... stop this aliexpress bashing for no reasons , i don't talk about you espacially fernwee but aliexpress can have some hiddem gems (that are done by real chinese brands > RION,SANTIC,SPEXCEL,RACCMER and some others) and sometimes the worst sh*t like counterfeit which is really bad.
Maap is fantastic as well.
