**2021 UPDATE** I Got it WRONG! #5 - Pricing: They have continued to not only support the software but update it as well. You now have the ability to customize the checkout pages and the load times have improved. Full updated review is in the works. Very happy to be wrong on this one; we still use it every day and don't plan on switching anytime soon.
Thanks for making the video Jason! Couple of things that you/your viewers should know (an update being released tomorrow solves a couple of the points here): 1. A new cart-builder and designs are being released. So lots of more flexibility for users. 2. The slow embedding issue you might notice will be solved with that update. I haven't seen that issue on our end, but it'll be a non-issue. Just thought that I'd pass that along since I'm a long-time user of Thrivecart and are in their user groups hearing about these updates coming!
Thank you for the announcement. I'm looking forward to the the new cart-builder and designs too. We still use Thrive Cart and just a few tweaks we could really simplify our funnels.
Hey Jason, Thanks for mentioning our product. We work hard to provide the best platform in the industry with the highest value. We’ve been doing this for over a decade and have no plans to replace ThriveCart or charge additional pricing for our users for what they have access to already. Congrats on a well produced video, however there is lots of misleading info and (more importantly) incorrect assumptions made in this video. I’m sure your top priority here is to property inform your audience? I don’t see any record of you reaching out to speak to us to confirm our business strategy, plans for the platform or what features are coming?... To help you correctly inform your audience I’d be happy to get on a call/video to provide correct info/clarity for your watchers? Look forward to chatting.
As far as what my researches have brought up, MemberPress does not offer any ways to up an upsell, except if you only have one Membership level, you can convert the Thank you page into an upsell page ?
Yes, The upsell page is inside of Thrive Cart. In the back end of Thrive Cart you'll tell it which membership level the upsell is for. So member press will handle the membership ship levels and Thrive Cart can sell the memberships as a upsell
I'm considering Thrive Cart for their ability to add affiliates. That's probably the biggest bonus for me - even with WooCommerce, the plugin I found to allow affiliates on products was nearly $300... so might as well spend the $495 for a lifetime license to Thrive Cart (WooCommerce product pages are ugly & there's too many clicks for the customer)
Even with these drawbacks, we are very, very happy with Thrive Cart. The affiliate feature is one that I forget about a lot, but is a HUGE plus when it comes to their software. (jasonwhaling.com/ThriveCart)
It's not a fact; it's an observation of how many of these companies operate.... It's been over 2 years though and they appear to be different. Update video coming later this year.
Love your work Jason. Your videos always rock. You're definitely of the UA-camr's that delivers super-actionable content without any fluff! Keep up the good work. Best, Phil Adair
BTW - they do not integrate with Optimizepress. The integration has never worked for subscriptions (they are not cancelled in your backend once the customer cancels). Second with OPM you can have people extending their account time left. However Thrivecart cannot access the old time, nor can OPM give out the old time. So that's another big limitation. Another big problem where I don't know if it is solved is: If you tell Thrivecart not to calculate taxes, they include 0% tax, which disables you to use a third party platform for taxes. The thrivecart taxing is simply rubbish - not legal for European Union for any company over 100.000€ turnover. Not sure maybe this is solved by now - but due to above I could not keep on using it.
That's very valuable information to know! We currently use MemberPress without any issues, but it's good to know that the OP integration isn't working properly 😩... Thank you for sharing with the tax issues! 🙏
@@JasonAWhaling Oh but forgot to mention - most of the problem why it's not working is on Optimizemember responsibility. However both parties advertise the integration without the integration working for the majority of users in my eyes. If OPM supplies the functions in API that Thrivecart is asking for - they could integrate it well I guess.
@@Docjesco sorry - didn't look here for long. I solved it by ditching Thrivecart. And am left with the troubles it created during the 20 days I used it - meaning subscriptions coming in that I need to treat manually, because thrivecart makes a hell out of your taxes.
That's not at all the same thing. The point is you can't have your entire sales process inside of Thrive Cart. It's disappointing you can't have a video on top of the checkout inside of Thrive.... What you outline is a viable option though. We just found the embed very slow.
@@JasonAWhaling Jason I am om memberpress and have Thrive installed, but hesitatnt to pull the trigger and change whats working. That said, one option I found for a slow embed was to ember a button (fast load) and then after clicking teh form fills in the page (or pops up). Yeah, one more click but less wait. I'm just asking myself- if it ain't broke....
I am totally frustrated by ThriveCart. They do not update at all. They work on different softwares to make more money. The software still not meets all legal requirements for the European/German Market. New payment gateways which have been promised for over 1 year now - they never came! And why should they? They already have my money. No need to further develop it. Step away from lifetime deals as far as you can if you want do a longterm business.
Stripe is a payment processer. Thrive is a front end software that allows you to create your checkout pages and up sells.... Stripe is it n the background processing the payments
I don't have an update yet, but they did provide a big update to the page builder. The slow loading is still an issue, but it's much better than when this was published and we are still using them as our go to shopping cart solution

Nice to hear there are no plans to replace ThriveCart with a new version. Thanks for the transparency.
Hi Josh I would be interested to hear your clarifications as I'm currently investigating which system to go with, thrivecart or click funnels. TIA
That last point he made was so shocking! How can he make up that by 2023 tc will be useless and dumped by a new version!! Thats a stretch!!!!
Team thrivecart! let's go!

Do you know for a FACT that after 2 years they will say we need to charge more for the updated software?

good point about the cost being not truly lifetime
The good news is they still seem to be updating the software.... It would be nice to be wrong on this one😅

Will do. Thanks for the support!!🙏
You can embed the thrive checkout anywhere so you could put a video on top of the page and do exactly what you're saying you can't.
Also you can totally embed a button that pops up the checkout. I have a feeling you really didn't test it out?

Yes, you can and that doesn't solve the issue of still having to have a separate page.

First reason. Do embedded if you want to have custom checkout page.
We've found the embedding function very, very weak. It's not really designed to be customized. It's pretty much just an 😔
So helpful thank you!

Those Cons sounded like Pros
IDK how slow loading could be good, but these are the issues we had with the software at the time

Will you still consider ThriveCart? 🤔
trouble is that kartra etc have an upper limit to the value of the ticket... Kartra has a max of $9999
Nice monitor
😁 Thank you!
