- Five to six foot shark swam in close to shore and was temporarily blocked behind a sand bar in very shallow water at Emerald Isle. Occurred May 4, 2018 around 3:28 at the oceanfront Holiday Travel Park. He did get back out to sea. There were some swimmers in the water. Beach was somewhat occupied but cleared out within minutes of the siting. No one was hurt.
Awww cute. He just wants someone to get in and play with him
Your chances of getting bit on the land go down exponentially.
Don't make me prove you wrong
And that folks is why I don’t get in da ocean
i’m not saying hate BUT i am fascinated with sharks and not all sharks attack like sand tiger sharks, sand tiger sharks are harmless unlike tiger sharks. most sharks attacks happen when they mistake humans for their food and the good part humans are NOT apart of the sharks diet. and its more likely to get in a car accident then get attacked by a shark OR die from a coconut
My parents have a house in EI & after the 50+ times I’ve been that deep if not deeper in the ocean sketches me out
So close to the shore ... Which means it was dinner time. They ll beach to get the meal
These sharks have mastered coming to shore. Before you guys was a little safer not anymore.
no, that’s just the whale that’s waiting for that hedgehog at the bridge
I wasnt gonna get in anyway..
It just wants to take a little nibble
Emerald Isle is a beautiful place. I go every year and plan on going back just as soon as Covid lets up. ..Will be more mindful from now on of our shark friends who are just trying to feed. The ocean is their domain, not ours. We are just guests there. This little guy wasn't looking for humans, (thank goodness); he was following a school of fish who had pushed in near the shore. -But the scary part is that my granddaughter was swimming at the exact same place where the shark appeared just 5 minutes prior to his appearance! I can easily see how a foot moving in the water could have been mistaken for a fish! Our first clue that he was there was the many seagulls who were diving and screaming and going crazy; a seagull frenzy! Then came the shark!, ugh! Will never forget that time. But also very exciting.
Yes it is their domain and not ours. I live very near the ocean and you must always be very vigilante for danger.
Nice to have a place to go out there. But definitely respect the ocean. Yeah, me to.
Wow i been going there for over 20 years and besides seeing a bunch washed up (we saved as many as we could). I’ve never seen one that close. I’ll be there in 3 weeks actually!
I'm pretty sure I was right behind you watching the shark as well haha cool to see videos of my favorite place
YOO I
WAS THERE I SAW THAT MY DAD WAS THE ONE WHO ALMOST GOT ATTACKED NO JOKE! The shark was where we were sitting!
I’m otw to that beach actually
Ha Ha. Keep a watch, and if the birds swoop in on the shoreline, there's fish there and maybe a shark! Have fun.
We're going to need a smaller boat!
I am going there this Sunday can’t wait! But I don’t think I will run in to a shark!
It's a Tiger Shark. Look at the dorsal fin. Too tall, and too long to be a Sandbar Shark. Sandbar Sharks generally don't get longer than 4 feet.
Looks like a Sandbar Shark- cool video!
Shark
How can that shark swim so close to where there is hardly water, it could get stranded and die,
Scientists are saying they have learned to swim closer for food. Will even Beach themselves. I think eco system is so messed up food supply over fishing is causing this. My opinion
Very cool we just got back home from there
Shark 🤣🤣
I'm going there in 6 days and I don't want to run into a shark!
Duuuuh dun... duuuuuh dun... dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun
*jaws theme intensifies*
