The first time I saw your channel was the day you had this truck on a trailer in your driveway. I told you that if you fix that sexy truck I would watch every episode of it and ring the bell. You actually responded and said that you were going to do just that. Since then I have watched every second of this truck being fixed and you have lived up to your word. Thank you for keeping me entertained and showing people that hard work and skill does pay off in the end. I hope Mark gets in contact with you because I want to see this truck one more time! Thanks again
Thanks for holding up your end of the deal! I was never worried about it being done right but until the parts truck came along I was worried about it being profitable. I did under-figure what it was worth and over-figure parts prices in the beginning but I found some good deals and made it work. I am glad I saved the truck. In the last week It has been to Arkansas, Wisconsin and Michigan hauling vehicles and parts and I could not ask for a more perfect truck for the job. I will have to find a replacement soon, so you will get to see another. I don't want to go back to my old 06. lol Thanks for your support!
This is what I do here in the UK, and have done for the last 25yrs. There is nothing more rewarding than turning a battered knacker into a shiny new looking machine again... And of course the best bit is when it's driving away and you are holding a hand full of cash thinking of the next one, it's good to watch you, subscribed and the bell has been rung. Phil.
Other youtubers play music while working on their vehicles. Thanks for not playing crappy music while working on the truck. Telling your audience what and why is by far the best part of your videos.
Being a person who avoids cars that has accidents when buying cars especially if you can notice the blemishes in the paint and still get told it’s a no accident or salvage title I’d buy one if your cars in a heart beat because you don’t cut corners I truly appreciate you and people like you.
There are people that do good work out there. There just happens to be a lot of the hacks that ruin the opinion of the industry. I drive everything I build. I want it to drive and act just like it did before the accident or better. Thanks for the support!
vehcor yea I bought a I bought A 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe 1 owner “no accidents” and I knew it wasn’t a clean car and the people were pushy and i bought it and it’s a good motor , but I never drive it because I have all 4 doors replaced no air bags and glued door hinges and I can’t scrap it because i paid too much I think I’m gonna make it into a off roder and shine some light on this purchase
The truck is actually better than new. The factory would never have spent that kind of time during the assembly phase. Your attention to detail is second to none. The finished product is spectacular.
78 hours! Thats amazing, I couldn't do this in 78 years. You're an extremely talented guy and I have really loved watching the progress. You probably spent almost as much time editing the videos 😀
I have done this enough to get pretty efficient. I should have been videoing it all along. I think I spent MORE time editing. lol I learned a lot with this series. At the beginning it would take me an hour to film 10 minutes of work, by the end, it would take me 15 minutes to film 10 and with better angles and learning little things like locking the AF on the camera. I have gotten much faster in post as well. It was a challenge to do a video a week but I am going to try and keep that up if I can. I like challenges as you know. Thanks for the support!
@@vehcor Video a week and you'll possibly be making just as much as your pickup cost used per year. Saw one guy named ChevyDude who sells cars. Made over $46k last year on UA-cam. Small change compared to top UA-cam'rs .....
I know it's not something people talk about but if you don't want to say I understand. How much did you have in trucks money wise, how much did you have to buy in parts, paint and other misc stuff. What all do you have leftover for parts that are sellable? If you sell all your leftover parts what would be your net cost and if you don't what's your net cost? Just curious on how well people do flipping vehicles. I know this isn't the norm because as you said it was a mistake truck but I'm sure people do better on the more straight forward flips. It is a Chevy Diesel though so I'm sure it was worth it then some.
@@vehcor thank you for producing this content. The quality of your work is spectacular, if any potential purchaser was worried about it being a salvage title just show them your video. I'd totally buy one of your vehicles - sadly I'm in NZ however 🙂
Mark Wahlberg MUST put you on TV to do tv series together. This video was so delight to watch, even Grand Tour is not as good as this. Thank you for being such an inspiration. My build is still waiting for some love and money, but now I'm more enthusiastic about it. Thank you and God bless.
I would be happy just to meet Marky Mark but to do a tv series with him would be like number 1 on the bucket list! We all need motivation from time to time on our builds. I have a Malibu wagon that has sat for almost 2 decades now. lol Someday, someday. Best of luck on your projects and thank you for watching.
Great job! I watched the whole series on this truck. It's nice to see someone who knows what they're doing rather than some silly kids trying to rebuild a car.
Thanks, give the kids a little slack, they are trying. So many kids these days don't want to work. Thanks for watching. BTW I do watch the kids from time to time. lol
I'll admit that I did wonder about rattles from taking the interior out and re-installing it. Glad to hear that it wasn't an issue. I can't understand how there can be haters for this build. Do what you do. Thanks for letting us tag along.
I watches all the video's on this truck build all in a row and I must say those were some of the best youtube video's I have ever seen. I don't know how anyone could hate anything about them, but I am also a mechanic and can appreciate all the hard work and detail you did rebuilding the truck. The thing that impressed me the most is that you always stayed positive. Keep up the good work, ignore the haters because I would be willing to bet that they pay someone to do all their household and vehicle maintenance, and possibly even their yard work. LOL
Some people just hate out of jealousy. I don't mind them. I find it fun to troll them as well. I give the normal people a laugh, allows me to have some fun and I can only imaging the haters running to their safe space after the mean UA-cam guy makes fun of them. Thanks for the support! Keep on wrenching!
Ok, I got hooked on this series and watched every one as they came up. You did a very thorough job of documenting this build. This one answered any remaining questions I had. (Except dollars and cents bottom line :) ) Anyway, you proved that a wreck like this can be professionally and correctly repaired, and even be profitable. Not everyone can do projects like this, but you made it look easy. Good job!
Wow. I was looking for a video on how to stop my smaller rear seat from rattling (2013 Silverado 1500 Z71), and instead I found this series. I have watched a lot of tv shows showing custom builds, one-offs, repairs, and body conversions (as well as racing series), and I have to say that I enjoyed this as much as any one of those other shows. It is informative, it is educational, it is fun, and it shows how much mechanics have to do to our own vehicles to do some things most people would consider 'an easy job/fix'. I love your comments (I also absoluletly dislike people who play music instead of saying whats going on), especially the ones about those custom stick on mossy oak decals and the ones about how you were going to show everyone how to do something when it doesnt work right but instead everything worked out perfectly and you couldnt show us, lol. I used to be a mechanics helper (and my own mechanic), way back in the day, on VW bugs and squarebacks and vans, and I appreciate just how much knowledge you actually have, from body work, to interior work, to finish work, as well as the mechanical/electrical knowledge. I have done exactly 1 build/restore from the ground up, cutting up an old vw bug that had been in an accident front and back and converted it into a baja, and I know just how much work goes into such builds, especially when you are alone in trying to do things that usually could help to have another person helping. I am subscribing, and I too cant wait to see what your next project is. I really cant express how much I have enjoyed watching your video's. Who knows, maybe Mark Wahlberg will get ahold of you, and sponser you for a tv show. :)
That rattling might be caused by the bracket on the back of the seat that slides in. There is supposed to be a plastic cover around the part welded on the back cab panel. If it is missing, it will be metal on metal. I have found a few missing when I pull seats so it is a common problem. Thanks for your support! Good luck in the rattle hunt!
@@vehcor Yeah, I found an easy fix, with some cut tubing and electrical tape (cheap, lol) since they dont make the plastic inserts anymore. But, I also found your channnel, which has been better than a fix on my truck, lol.
The truck is beautiful and this has become one of my all-time favorite series on UA-cam. You, sir, are an artist. I'm currently doing what I can to maintain my 2000 Silverado Z71 and your work motivates me to keep doing so. Thank you for sharing the journey.
I like the truck, even the wheels are growing on me. lol I'm glad you enjoyed it since I will be building another when the buyer picks this one up and I have an excuse to find one. I had a 2000 Silverado before my 06. It was a great truck, just a little rusty but with 300k who could blame it. lol Thanks for watching
Great job. The patience you have or at least showed was impressive to say the least. Also the pride you take in your work to make sure it's done right without cutting corners, now that's something you don't see these days. Again excellent job.
I do have patience for things I enjoy and I liked this build from start to finish. I don't care if I am building a $50k truck or $2k beater, I always take the time to do it the right way. Thanks for watching.
AMAZING build!!!!!! that truck really looks fantastic, your attention to detail is what puts it over the top. It is incredible to me that you only had 78 hrs into the build.
Thanks, I have had lots of practice. My first truck build took quite a bit longer. After as many as I have done, I have gotten pretty efficient. The details make the difference! Thanks for watching!
This video caught my attention because I own a 2015 2500HD. I couldn't believe that the truck that started out could have been good for anything more than the scrap metal pile. Not just anybody can come out with the finished product like you have done here. I still can't believe the beautiful transformation that you took this truck through. Thank you for sharing your video.
I have done this a time or two. lol I hope you like your truck as much as I like this one. I just returned from a 1300 mile trip to pick up another build and it is incredible on the road. Almost worth the ridiculous prices they want for them....almost. lol Thanks for watching.
Thanks, I had to do some work so the videos had to wait. It was a little rough doing one a week but I like a challenge so we will see if I can keep it up for a while. Thanks for watching.
This highlights the pitfalls of buying a salvage vehicle. Lots of stuff to work out and not everyone is as conscientious as you. It's great that you're so thorough and should be an example of doing it right .
Rebuilds are not all rainbows and unicorns. Anyone that tells you different is lying or the luckiest person alive. I think a lot of people fail only because they get overwhelmed by all the stuff that can go wrong. I think I felt that way when I called it a mistake but after really looking at it, there was a few ways to come out on top. There are good builders out there, I wish the hacks didn't ruin the industry for us. Thanks for watching.
Your attention to detail and care in these videos is amazing...salvage vehicles do not need to be backed away from, as so many are worth the time and effort to properly hit the road once more. I have owned 3 rebuilds, never had a problem with any of them...Currently have a Mazda 3 hatchback that was returned to road ready, written off for a small crash on 1 side only..Insurance companies are so inconsistent with what they fix or write off...amazing..That's here in B.C. Canada. The shop did a crap job however of the paint that needed doing that was hard to see initially, lazy end products with little over paints etc..So, like many who do this, fail to really show the skill by shoddy finishing. Getting it to safety inspection and approved is critical, but the just get them sold part seems counter productive. So, watching the quality of your work proves it takes a little more time, but the end results show...Keep doing it....Good luck with the Wahlberg thing.
There are so many people that just believe the manufacturer's marketing about the scary rebuilt vehicles. The spend millions to convince people to buy new cars and people don't ask questions. It always amazes me how little people know about rebuilt cars and that even the clear title and even some new ones have been repaired. I hope to educate people on what a rebuilt car should be and what you should really do to evaluate a possible vehicle for purchase. Thanks for watching!
I wasn't a hater or nay-sayer but did comment in the first video that it looked damn near impossible. You replied that it wasn't as bad as it looked so I've been following along and shaking my head is disbelief. Sure this can be done in a shop with lots of help but you did it yourself in 79 hours. That's frickin amazing. Awesome job and a beautiful truck. Congrats!
It really was not that bad, lots of nuts and bolts but not hard. It is easier when you break it down into smaller jobs like I did. I have had lots of practice at stuff like this so doing it myself is not too bad. Thanks for watching and sticking it out for the whole build.
I’ve been watching this channel because seeing a rebuild for a truck isn’t something that I usually see on channels I enjoy that have to do with cars. But this last video earned my respect with how real he was towards the end. He went savage mode lmao I had to subscribe. Keep up the hard work 👍🏼
I like building trucks more than cars so you will see some more if I can get them. I will need a new truck so.... It was fun to troll the haters. Give them a little taste of their own medicine. Thanks for watching, glad to have you with us!
Only a pro like yourself could have done all that in 78 hours. I would have spent that long scratching my head trying to figure out the next step. Truck is stunning. Loved this series. Please do more like this!
Don't worry, there was some head scratching for me as well. I just edit that out. lol Actually what I do a lot is just go onto the easy stuff while thinking about the head scratching parts like I mentioned in the rear end swap video. That is how I keep moving and ponder at the same time. I like making these video much better so you will see more. Thanks for watching!
You are the man, first class work, ethics, determination, dedication, honor and humor. You remind me of myself. God bless you in all your endeavors. I am 68 yrs. old now, wrenched on quite a few myself with all these same ethics. I wish I was many yrs. younger and in Chicago to work with you to learn even more. I always enjoyed a good challenge. This is my wife's YT account. You are already success. Jerry.
Mr. Scote vehcor you are one in a Million Auto rebuilder, meaning a person like you is hard to find because it cost money to learn your skills and here you are given this knowledge for free. Your style is unique and anyone that come on here to criticize you has noo understanding of collision industry, has noo business to date waste your time at your level. Please do not waste your time to even reply fools. So they can remain haters, confuse and stupid, so you can have more time to educate us who want to listen to you and learn your skills. God give you more strength to get out of bed strong everyday to do what you love doing
Thanks, I appreciate all the support form you guys. I do respond to the haters, they are great motivation for me to make sure everything is perfect and the proof is there. I enjoyed mocking them a little as well. lol I'll keep them coming. Thanks for watching.
You are one hell of a craftsman. I have seen so many bad and dangerous builds. The thing I love the most is the little things you do (fluid changes, replace questionable parts) Honesty and taking care of the little things is what will keep you doing this for many many years. Thank You once again for sharing your craft.
Very impressive work! I just finished the series after hearing about it only 2 days ago. The way you explain what and why you're doing things is awesome. The world needs more people like you!
Watched the whole playlist. Extremely impressed with your knowledge and the quality of the videos. The editing is some of the best I've seen on UA-cam with the commentary, low background noises and transitions. You might just become my top rebuild channel. Keep the videos coming.
I own a 2015 3500 SRW, I thoroughly enjoyed the series. I found to be entertaining and learned a lot about my truck. Thank you for taking the time to video and share the build. Looking forward to seeing more like this.
Same truck, just some heavier parts. lol I think I covered everything on this one with the exception of getting into the engine. Thanks for watching. More to come, GM trucks for sure!
Man I've been rebuilding light wrecks for years and there is always some sideline experts out there that tell me "you'll never get your money out of that." Well, guess what I always do. You just have to be smart and patient about what you are doing. Your vids are awesome! Thanks for sharing.
I subscribed when you made the German torque wrench joke last vid, now with the end of this one, I'm hooked! If noone buys my recently wrecked truck, I'm definitely fixing it.
I don't know why I am so serious in my videos but as I get more comfortable, the real me comes out. I goof around and make jokes while I am working because I am in a good mood having fun so I will include more of that in the videos. Thanks for watching and glad to have you here!
I came across the first video Thursday night. When I told a coworker about it, I pulled up your channel to find you had posted this final video 2 hours before. Had to binge this on my Friday night. Great series and can't wait to see what you build next!
The shares is what helps my channel grow so thank you. Make sure you subscribe and ring the bell so you don't miss anything. I'll try to get more out there but one a week is rough. lol Thanks for the support!
I am glad to see a real car guy who knows a thing or two! When you mentioned the cavity wax, then, fluid film, & said, something the effect of, "You like a video that goes in depth about rustproofing using certain chemicals, in several places, ie- rocker panels, doors, etc... I sighed a bit of relief!!! Finally someone who gets it!!! I'd also consider doing a wet coat afterwards, using 50/50 mixture of diesel & bar & chain oil to the entire underside of the truck, paying attention to the frame & the backside of every panel & ever nook & crany! Anywho, That alone gets a thumbs up from me!!!!!!!!!! She is a Beauty!!!!!!! Also, I always prefill all filters & coat the rubber seal b4 reinstallation! Helps avoid any dry start or any sort of lag of fluid to a motor, or transmission!!! Another bit of advice, I hope you cleaned your throttle body, iac, mass air flow(maf) sensor, o2 sensors & etc, & at least clean & check the gap on the plugs. The point is, cleaning every sensor always helps obtain a better running vehicle & better mileage!
I wanted to give this new cavity wax a try. I know how well my old stuff works but I am always looking for new and better things. So far it has held up but the real test will be next winter. I tried gapping the plugs but it appears these fancy new diesels don't have spark plugs. lol Thanks for watching!
Mr. Serious does have a lighter side! Truly enjoyed watching this series on the “Mistake” build. Should come in handy if I ever need to work on my 2014 Silverado! And yes haters are going to hate, but better yet, believers will always believe... And someone has to know MW to get you his decal.....someone please! Keep up the great work, now I need to go back and watch a few of your other older builds till a new one shows up..👍👍❤️
Mr. Serious is anything but... The outtakes and messing with the haters is just who I am. I don't know why I act so serious in my videos, I am really not........ever! It is new to me but as I get more comfortable, the real me shows up more and more. I'll get there. The haters can be better motivation than the believers. I'll have some smaller builds that I have completed over the last few months so you can mix some new content with the old. Thanks for the support!
1) Awesome series, but i can't believe there were that many episodes! 2) Screw the haters, they are just mad they don't have the skills/ability to do it themselves. 3) Thank you! I bought a 1500 LTZ in November and was searching youtube for some videos about something i don't remember. It led to this build, which i have thoroughly enjoyed following!
I try to keep the videos around 15 minutes in length and no filler BS so that determines how many videos it will turn into. There are a lot of channels that turn a minor front hit into more than this with all the filler. I think I covered every part of the truck in this series so you should be an expert on your truck now! lol Thanks for watching!
Really like the detail you add to your videos, and I love the fact that you do things the right way! Too many hacks out there doing things half assed, makes people distrust people like us that repair and sell cars.
I commented on one of the early videos in this series that I couldn't see how you were going to put it all back together. Not that I doubted you. I just couldn't wrap my head around it all. It was in such bad shape. But damn man. It looks beautiful....and I'm a Dodge guy. You do amazing work. And I know you do, because I watched it. No corners cut. I'd buy a rebuild from you any time. Congrats on completing the build.
It is really just taking things apart and replacing all the broken stuff and putting it back together. It just happened to have lots of broken parts to replace. lol Thanks for following along! I'm glad I was able to change your mind.
I've watched a few of your rebuilds now after finding your channel by accident. All I can say is brilliant and I'm completely hooked, your knowledge, skill and craftsmanship are amazing. I foresee a few sleepless nights working through the rest of them. From this silly old English fart well done sir !
I’ve done 2 salvage rebuilds for myself and can agree, if you’re loosing money doing rebuilds something is wrong. My 2 were not for profit but I did spend less than retail. Awesome videos, keep up the great work showing people there is nothing wrong with salvage vehicles.
My goal is to prove that salvage vehicles can be better than before the accident if done correctly. There are a lot of people doing to wrong these days, so they think everyone else is as well. Thanks for watching and good luck on your future builds!
That is when 80% of my viewers found me. lol I never knew this truck would be so popular. I'm glad you enjoyed the series, I really enjoyed the build! What's next? Well I have some smaller jobs that I did over the last couple months and I will be needing a new truck when this one leaves......
@@vehcor It's not the truck. Well, not for all of us anyway. You don't hack things up and fix them with weld and sheet metal. I have no doubt that this truck would perform in a crash exactly as it did the first time. When people cut and weld pillars and panels in places they weren't designed to be welded at, it changes their crash performance. I've seen some horrible repairs. Like, instead of replacing individual unibody components as you do, cars literally being welded front of one to the back of another or the entire side cut out and replaced with the side from another. When those cars crash again, they aren't going to crumple, they're going to shear and maybe even impale the occupants. So, in short, you do good work. You rebuild them the right way and your videos are very informative and enjoyable to watch.
The haters just don't put in the hard work and attention to detail. People who just want to make 5 figures on an hour's worth of work. I've done some tear down and rebuild, but nothing as complex as you do, and I can appreciate the time and effort. Thumbs up man, damn fine job.
I like the haters, they give me motivation to make sure everything is perfect and prove it. That is their worst nightmare, they want to discourage me because they cannot do it. Trolling them is just as fun as well. lol I didn't start with builds like this, I worked my way up. Keep challenging yourself and you can get there as well. Good luck on your builds and thanks for watching!
I love this build! I'm glad you made some green stamps on this deal. You worked hard, spent a ton of time away from your family so you deserve every penny. The haters can jam it!
Thanks. The family did come to visit me, they were put to work when they did. lol I would like to than the haters for motivating me to make this perfect! I also appreciate the support from everyone that watched and had positive things to say along the way. Thank you!
Some people are born to work with their hands, when that is combined with the need to do things right, well, you get you! A true artist my friend. Thanks for the videos
Good morning Scott, oh that did turn out sweet. Your attention to the details really paid off. And having to be a Philadelphia lawyer specialized in title law makes a world of difference. The state inspectors know when they are dealing with someone who knows what they are doing, hence the quick inspection date. Thanks for a great video series. You take care and have a good one.
Here in corrupt Illinois, you have to know/pay the right people. That is why so many of our governors go to jail. lol I just got lucky on this one. Maybe they were watching the videos and wanted to see it or maybe just felt bad for me waiting for almost a year to drive my truck. Thanks for watching. Talk to you soon.
Im usually the one who only watches the beginning and the end of the story. I watched every minute of every video on this truck. YOU DO GREAT WORK. I enjoyed all of it.
Good to hear, glad they were entertaining and hopefully informative. Thanks for the support. I will have to build another one eventually. I can't go back to the old truck, I am spoiled now.
Love the videos, but also love to hear the breakdown money wise and with all the parts as a diy classic car restoration guy looking for a new used 2500 or 250 myself. Please don’t hold it out for a one in a million shot with a celebrity.
One in a million........... so there IS a chance?!?! lol If I am going to complicate my job, I want a good reason. I made the offer realizing the odds but will gladly hold up my end if I beat the odds. Thanks for watching!
Loved “somebody’s been here before...” 😂 probably because I’ve found myself correcting other people’s mistakes on my own vehicles. You have a true talent here! Your eye for detail and taking the time to get the small things like the door jam stickers is amazing. Not many people who do rebuilds go that extra mile. Who ever buys this truck can buy with confidence if they watch your videos. Great work!
That has become my catchphrase everywhere I work. All the guys laugh and have started saying it. Like when you open a hood and see all the new parts someone has thrown at the car to fix the problem you are now being paid to fix. lol I don't want anyone to be able to tell the vehicle was every wrecked, including anyone inspecting it so I have to make sure it is perfect. The buyer has checked in on this build almost everyday since it began and is not worried at all. Thanks for watching.
Thanks, 3/4 of my channel came from this build alone. I never would have thought it would be so popular in a million years. I honestly thought I was just making a video for the 11k subs I had at the time. Glad to have you with us, more builds coming up!
I met mark whalberg personally he stayed at my hotel in louisville i shook his hand and talked to him..very good guy..great truck build folowed from tye first vid and you have done alot..gave me inspiration on rebuilding cars myself
@@carls2210 Most of my trucks are pre-orders or ones I built for myself that someone just came along and bought like this one. The truck market has never been a good one for me but these trucks may have changed that. We will see.
@@brianburnham8734 No fishing pole. I tried, never like it, too boring. lol I have patience to rebuild a truck but not waiting for a fish. The rest sounds like a deal since it is 30 here right now.
Thank you for taking all this time showing us all the tricks of the trade that you've learned after all the years of doing this. It's really neat, to see someone that's truly skilled at something as willing to show everybody else how he does it.
No problem! When I was young I had plenty of guys that allowed me to look over their shoulder and ask questions. Now with technology, you can do that without even being there. Thanks for the support and there is plenty more to teach.
Excellent job! Thank you for sharing and taking your time to post each video.. I enjoyed every video. I look forward to watching the next project. Congratulations on selling the truck. Its a beautiful truck!
Thanks! It was a lot of work doing a video a week but it is truly rewarding in the end. I don't want to have to let it go but I cannot resist the chance to build another one! Thanks for the support!
Dude... Very impressed with your level of expertise and your perseverance on this project. Anyone can create something new, but restoration is an art form and you are very talented at it. Great job!!
Great! I have watched most if not all of this build and you are not only talented, but one patient guy. I also love working on salvage vehicles, but not to this extent,(until i'm retired) because I'm too busy. I appreciate the detail and effort you put fourth in the videos. Making the videos would drive me crazy. Looking forward to more of your builds.
Thanks, I plan to continue this into my retirement as well. The videos are a nice distraction from cars for a change although it can get a little nerve racking to get them out on time with work, rebuilds, editing and such. Thanks for watching.
It doesn't matter to me at all where the parts came from as long as they all end up in the same place and I had fun putting them there! Thanks for watching!
Good series, the price is irrelevant. You have what you have in it. It’s a quality product. When a buyer gets it inspected, there’s no way to tell what was replaced for damaged beforehand, except the new paint job. Nice ride. If you would have put the original wheels with oem correct tire size and brand, there’s no way of telling the truck apart from any other truck on the GM preowned dealer lot.
Thanks, I am with you, it is about the work, not the money. Not everyone feels the same and they now have their opportunity to get the numbers but they have to put in a little work. Let's see if they do. Any wrecked vehicle can be put back to like new condition. I wish the hacks would quit making the good builders look bad so people did not have to fear rebuilds. Thanks for the support!
I don't usually comment but I had to give you commendation for choosing this project and seeing it through. Very well done 👍 also would like to say that in today's world it's way too easy to just throw things away, and you have this truck a new lease on life. Keep up the awesome work and inspire people to do the same.
Congratulations man. Hard work pays off, clearly. And the truck came out flawless. You are a skilled craftsman and didn't hack a thing. Very impressive.
Normally I wouldn't consider buying a rebuilt vehicle because most of the people that do that are a bit shady, but your truck I would consider buying without hesitation. It was great watching your videos and I have become a subscriber. You give your trade a good name!
There are some bad apples out there. I hope to give my industry a little credit because there are good rebuilders out there. There are also some scary repairs out there that are not branded as rebuilt and have clean CarFaxes. Thanks for watching and glad to have you here!
haters gonna hate brother , they hate you because they aren’t you , simple facts , keep the good work, those 2500 are good looking trucks , you should keep that one 👍🏼
I like to antagonize the haters. They come here to get a rise out of me and I'm the one that gets them all worked up. lol Their comments are just as motivating to me as the positive ones, maybe more so sometimes. I would like to keep it but I would also like a reason to build another. This might be my favorite body style so far. Thanks for watching!
I watched all of your videos & personally I don't buy any repaired salvage or accident damage cars here in the UK, but after watching your excellent videos I would certainly buy a Vehicle from you, the effort was amazing, very thorough and precise workmanship which leaded to a quality rebuild, the truck looks amazing & sound wonderful, just wish it was mine. Look forward to your next build, great videos, keep up the good work.
I have a Pontiac video coming soon, a boring car but a unique video. I need to get another truck though. Maybe a Sierra Denali this time! Thanks for watching.
Radass dude. I was excited to see this thing going down the road, and it’s not even my truck lol. After watching all these videos I would have zero reservations about driving this truck and putting it to work, well done man thanks for posting all these videos!!
I know what you mean, it is kind of not my truck anymore. There is always a chance the buyers don't work out though. I have put it to work pulling builds home. Almost 2000 miles of hauling in the last week. It is a great truck for my uses. Thanks for watching.
Frankie looks and sounds just like a new truck, better than a new one. I'm not a Chevy fan, or any other, but this was an amazing build. I have improved my skills greatly by watching your videos. Best wishes, your channel is by far the best on rebuilding vehicles.
We could call him Frankie, it isn't really a mistake anymore. lol To be honest I am not a fan of everything I build. It is about the work for me. One of my favorite builds was the Enclave and I HATE those things. Glad to here the videos are helpful. Thanks for the support.
It’s really watching someone who knows what they are doing. You are the king of the builders though on UA-cam. Not even up for discussion. Can’t wait for the next project!
I'll be honest.... the first video I had ever seen was the mistake part 1! Had to go to the channel and see how it came out! Thanks for showing us hard work and being determined!! I wasnt sure if this could happen without the right parts truck though. I was worried! Awesome Videos! Thats alot of time you put into this including the video and editing holycow! Thanks for showing us :)
I was never worried about losing money. I had less in the truck than it was worth in parts. I was a little worried that if I tried to rebuild it I might end up upside down but the parts truck took care of that. I underestimated what these things were worth and never could have imagined coming out as far ahead as I did. Thanks for sticking around!
It's been interesting to see you build this truck fro,m the two trucks, and yeah I believe finding a good parts truck is essential, so ytou are bang on in the fact that it can save you a lot of money rather than going and purchasing parts here and there even from a wrecker. I doubt you would have put in all the time and money if you werent sure of a decent return on your investment, cause honestly all the time and money for a couple thousand dollars wouldnt have been worth it IMHO, the risk has to be worth the reward but like anything it is all in the numbers of looking at the truck, calculating what you think it will need in parts, labour and time and then what the vehicle in your area of that truck make model engine is going for, and then deciding if its feasible or not. You obviously knew the numbers knew what you needed what you ball parked for the truck, the donor truck and other parts time and labour and knew it was worth the risk to do so, so good on you. The risk was worth the return. I think the biggest mistake people make when doing a project like this is that they dont look at all the variables and the numbers and it comes back to bite them. Look forward to the next build, and the truck looked great I am sure the new owner liked it and didnt think twice about buying it
Your assessment is perfect. I originally called it the mistake because I figured on extra damage but not enough to cover the trans and t/c together. I was still at a good price, just not the price I usually want to be at. I never would have guessed I would be able to snag a parts truck for what I did but once I did, the build completely turned around. The new owner checked in on it almost everyday and has bought cars from me in the past so was not concerned in the least that is would not be exactly right. Thanks for the support!
That is one good looking truck! You're one hell of a mechanic! Rare, you can either find a skilled mechanic or an exceptional body man and you are both. Very well build and safe truck. I don't know how many projects I didn't get done watching this build but it was well worth it!
I'm one of those people everyone hates. I am above average at everything I try right off the bat. With enough practice I usually end up being pretty good at things. We all need a break from our projects once in a while anyway. lol Thanks for the support!
Thanks again for yet another enjoyable episode and the final closure of the "mistake". Your attention to detail and finishing touches to this project will hopefully give others inspiration and direction on how to do things "the right way". Your commentary (enjoying the light sarcasm) and video production is great, don't change a thing, apart from bumping your head on the mirror... :) Some off topic comments: A hood in Australia is called a "bonnet", a trunk is called a "boot"... :) Loving your work Scott, disregard the "haters", they are nothing more than jealous time wasting trolls.... :) cheers, Pete....
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the videos. I am very sarcastic but for some reason I am very serious when the camera goes on. I'm working on that. Hopefully I can find a balance of goofing around and still be informative at the same time. Yeah, that mirror left a mark. lol I did know those terms. I learned them from Top Gear. lol I like the haters, they are great motivation for me. Trolling them seemed to be enjoyable to everyone as well. Thanks for the support!
It was great to be along for the ride on this build. This truck came out great and looking like new from bumper to bumper. All that work put into it REALLY paid off in the end. I could have been mistaken, but I had a thought that the stock wheels were going to be put back on the truck instead of the third party wheels. Either way, they still look good on it. One thought I had was to replace the tail light bulbs with LEDs. I did that when I bought my car two years ago and didn't have to worry about any blown tail light bulbs since I put them in.
Thanks for joining me. I didn't have a full set of the originals but it worked out because the buyer specifically wanted the aftermarket wheels. They are what actually made the sale for me. I did have to replace 2 bulbs in the tail lights. When I find one to keep, I will go with LED. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the great series and I'll be ready for the next one!

It is much easier for me so it works out! Thanks for watching!
Totally agree.
Not only that, some use the same music over and over and over. Ugh!
Totally agree too
Yes I the like narration and no music too
Being a person who avoids cars that has accidents when buying cars especially if you can notice the blemishes in the paint and still get told it’s a no accident or salvage title I’d buy one if your cars in a heart beat because you don’t cut corners I truly appreciate you and people like you.
That’s why I steer clear from cars with accidents.
The truck is actually better than new. The factory would never have spent that kind of time during the assembly phase. Your attention to detail is second to none. The finished product is spectacular.
I did make that claim, I had to follow through. I would have anyway but there were some nonbelievers out there. Thanks for watching.
So in half the time I have spent playing Red Dead Redemption 2, you have built a nearly brand new freaking truck.
I need to sort out my priorities.
We all have different hobbies. There is nothing wrong with that. Do what you enjoy, that's what matters. Thanks for taking a break to watch my video!
Good job!
Glad you enjoyed it. I know I had a lot of fun on this build and cannot wait for the next truck! Thanks for watching.
Whatever stops the noise is a good solution! Glad to have you here!
So far this is my favourite series that I’ve watched through on UA-cam . The long breaks between videos were well worth it
Thanks, I had to do some work so the videos had to wait.
BUDDY YOU JUST BLEW EVERY VIDEO EVERY MECHANIC I EVER KNOWN OUT OF THE WATER YOU THE BEST MECHANIC I EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE.
Thanks, years of practice!
Jerry.
Thanks for the support! I also wish I was younger but not in Chicago! 😂 Take care and thanks for watching!
Your workmanship and professionalism is truly inspiring.
Thank you!
Thanks for watching.
i really really enjoyed watching this truck go from the “mistake” to the absolute beast it is now
Thanks, it turns out the only mistake was thinking it was one in the first place! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the support!
Watched the whole playlist. Extremely impressed with your knowledge and the quality of the videos. The editing is some of the best I've seen on UA-cam with the commentary, low background noises and transitions. You might just become my top rebuild channel. Keep the videos coming.
That truck came out perfect!!! Truly a quality build.
Thanks, just as we planned!
That's the best rebuild series I've watched, If I lived in A murica , I'd buy it in a heartbeat, "better than new" .
Thanks, a lot of people didn't believe it could be better than new. They are all quiet now. lol Thanks for watching!
Man I've been rebuilding light wrecks for years and there is always some sideline experts out there that tell me "you'll never get your money out of that." Well, guess what I always do. You just have to be smart and patient about what you are doing. Your vids are awesome! Thanks for sharing.
Proving the haters wrong is just as rewarding as the build itself some times. Good luck on your builds! Thanks for watching!
I subscribed when you made the German torque wrench joke last vid, now with the end of this one, I'm hooked! If noone buys my recently wrecked truck, I'm definitely fixing it.
gewdenticht!
You are one competent, skilled, patient son of a gun! Great job on the truck and videos!
I have had lots of practice. I was very happy with the truck. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the support!
vehcor Well, don’t make me hate you to get your behind in gear....LOL
Thanks, you are spot on. I feel the same way about the hacks and what they do to my industry. Thanks for watching.
The truck is looking really great
The aftermarket wheels are growing on me. They are almost worth the hassle and expense. lol Thanks for watching!
@@vehcor they really set the truck off I cannot agree more with you on that
I've watched a few of your rebuilds now after finding your channel by accident. All I can say is brilliant and I'm completely hooked, your knowledge, skill and craftsmanship are amazing. I foresee a few sleepless nights working through the rest of them. From this silly old English fart well done sir !
Thanks, glad to have you with us! I have had a little practice over the years! 😂 Best wishes from the USA!
I can't wait for the next build! This is one of the best series I've watched! Thanks man.
A few small ones that I have done over the last few months but I do need to find a truck so........ Thanks for watching!
Found your channel just after you started this truck. I've enjoyed watching you make this truck come together. So. What's next!?!?!
x2
That is when 80% of my viewers found me. lol I never knew this truck would be so popular. I'm glad you enjoyed the series, I really enjoyed the build! What's next? Well I have some smaller jobs that I did over the last couple months and I will be needing a new truck when this one leaves......
x3
Really enjoyed this series 🙏
Thanks and thanks for watching!
Thank you!
Love the extra bolt outtakes, funny. Awesome build!
Thanks, we might have to make the outtakes a thing!
Some people are born to work with their hands, when that is combined with the need to do things right, well, you get you! A true artist my friend. Thanks for the videos
Thanks, I do like to build or rebuild things for sure. Thanks for the support!
78 hours? Man you were movin!!! Great job brother 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I'm fairly efficient at this kind of thing. Lots of practice to find the best methods helps. Thanks for watching!
vehcor practice makes perfect 👌👍🏻
Awesome build... Just goes to show put in some time and effort and you can reap the benefits.
Thanks, I agree! The original buyers that did the doctoring should have stuck with it! Thanks for watching!
Loved all twelve parts.......was not a subscriber before this build but im now
Thanks, 3/4 of my channel came from this build alone.
I have heard similar stories about MW. Thanks for watching. Good luck on any future rebuilds!
$40k plus here in Florida with zero haggling! Nice job and can't wait to see what you do with the next one.
Up here as well. Maybe I should sell it down there as an excuse to leave this horrible state and its cold weather! lol Thanks for watching!
vehcor how does one go about buying a rebuilt truck from you?
@@vehcor
Just bring your shorts, sunscreen and fishing pole, I got the rest. Your tool box would be nice? I need a lift kit put on my Tundra buddy!!!!
Great job!!
Years of practice got me to this point. Thanks for watching!
The haters gonna hate nothing you can do about it
For sure. Haters equal losers who failed trying to do this.
Oh there's something you can do about the haters alright. Prove them wrong.
That truck turned out great. Thanks for taking the time to film. Looking forward to the next build!
It did. It drives even better than it looks! Thanks for watching. I cannot wait to do the next truck!
Nothing wrong with making money that's what life is all about be proud of what you do because what you do is something to be proud of
I like what I do, the money just makes me able to do it as much as I want. Thanks for the support!
Experience pays. I like the end results. Those meticulous details says that you have pride and care. Thumbs-up !
Thanks, always do it the right way or don't bother doing it!
Excellent work brother! On to the next build!
Thanks, for sure!
One of the best rebuilder channels on UA-cam. In alphabetical order are my favorites.

Damn, I should have made my name aavechor so I could make #1 on the list. lol Thanks for the support!
Doesn’t matter if it’s all original. Question is how you make it unique and you did just that. Bravo!
Thank you very much!
Can’t wait for the next video! That was great.
I'm going to see if I can upload more than once a month so you don't have to wait so long. Thanks for watching!
Congratulations man. Hard work pays off, clearly. And the truck came out flawless. You are a skilled craftsman and didn't hack a thing. Very impressive.
Thanks, I always do it the right way. Thanks for the support!
Laughed at the extra bolts!!
If you don't have a few spare bolts left at the end of the job , you're not doing it right ! lol....
My job here is done! I'll have to include more of the goofing off that goes into my builds in the future. Thanks for watching.
It drives even better than it looks. I can't wait to build another. Thanks for the support and best wishes from the USA!
Now we can move on to the Pontiac!?
I’m glad you got it sold too!!
The Mistake turned out great!
It did. I think I named it too soon. It is not even close to a mistake. Thanks for watching!
Love the out takes!
I might have to make that a thing!
It’s really watching someone who knows what they are doing. You are the king of the builders though on UA-cam. Not even up for discussion. Can’t wait for the next project!
Thanks, I do have a lot of experience, more than most on YT, I think. Thanks for watching, new projects coming soon.
Dude you rock , hope i get to meet you one day !
Thanks, same here! I appreciate all of you that support me and my projects!
@@vehcor Same goes for me! You've forgotten more than I will ever learn. Lol
@@BlackLocustPatriot I'm old and forget more stuff everyday so you have some catching up to do! lol
Awesome! Wish I had the cash to buy that truck. I would drive that all day anyday!
Thanks! It will be hard to give this one up but I do like the idea of building another! Thanks for the support!
Awesome series. Its fun taking broken things/vehicles and making them new again. I envy the shop space to do this. Thanks for bring us along.
This build has been a great amount of fun. The shop really makes it possible and easier. Thanks for coming along!
No problem look forward to the next series.
Awesome job!!!
Love your videos. Thanks for sharing your skills...
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Some off topic comments: A hood in Australia is called a "bonnet", a trunk is called a "boot"...
Yeah, that mirror left a mark. lol
I did know those terms. I learned them from Top Gear. lol I like the haters, they are great motivation for me. Trolling them seemed to be enjoyable to everyone as well. Thanks for the support!
Ha! Mark Walberg Chevrolet is in my hometown.
Maybe I will be dropping by for a visit. lol
A man of your word. The truck turned out exactly as you said it would. Well done.
Yes, I am. Take THAT nonbelievers! lol Thanks for watching.
Good job! Nice truck keep up the good work
Thanks, will do!
i just watched this saga and your attention to detail and the money gag at the end just got you a new subscriber
Thanks, glad to have you with us. Sometimes you have to tease the haters. lol
Aw snap, I’m 45 minutes away from Columbus, maybe a road trip is in order!
Hopefully I have a reason to head that way!
