I grew up the only gay kid in a clean german suburb. With every year passing, I feel more and more distant from this place. The hockey club, all the kids riding mountainbikes with their girlfriends and boyfriends, the lawn mowers and SUVs. I'm just sitting behind the window of my mum's flat and wondering how life can seem so easy, even tho it isn't. This song hits hard.
I remember buying this as a single somewhere in Kensington London 2000 I was 15-16 travelled down from Glasgow to stay with family and bought it on a whim with a few other CDs 😂,, thought it’s was brilliant, different.. but very unique
I bought a few old UNCUT magazines in a charity shop many years ago. Their album received a 5/5 review (Passionoia - Black Box Recorder) I bought the album 12 years ago on the back of the review. Great music. This song is beautiful.
Do do do, do do do Do do do, do do do When boys are just eleven They begin to grow in height at a fast rate than they have done before They develop curiosity and start to fantasise About the things they have never thought of doing before These dreams are no more harmful than The usual thoughts that boys have of becoming football stars or millionaires As long as the distinction between fantasy and fiction remains It's just a nature walk It's just the facts of life There's no master plan Walk me home from school I'll let you hold my hand You're getting ideas And when you sleep at night They develop into sweet dreams It's just the facts of life A boy sits by the telephone, wanting to call a girl But not daring to because she might say no At last he summons up the courage phones And discovers someone else has asked her first and she's said yes Now's time to deal with the fear of being rejected No-one gets through life without being hurt At this point the boy who's listening to this song Is probably saying it's easier said than done and it's true It's just the facts of life There's no master plan Walk me home from school I'll let you hold my hand You're getting ideas And when you sleep at night They develop into sweet dreams It's just the facts of life Do do do, do do do Do do do, do do do Small-town dating differs from more urban situations In particular if there's few places to go Adolescents normally gather in a cafe or an arcade If they have to almost anywhere will do A family car, a disused coalmine A rowing boat or a shed Experimentation, familiarisation It's all a nature walk It's just the facts of life There's no master plan Walk me home from school I'll let you hold my hand You're getting ideas And when you sleep at night They develop into sweet dreams It's just the facts of life It's just the facts of life (Sweet dreams develop into ideas) There's no master plan (Ideas develop into sweet dreams) Walk me home from school (Sweet dreams develop into ideas) I'll let you hold my hand (Let you hold my hand) You're getting ideas (Sweet dreams develop into ideas) And when you sleep at night (Ideas develop into sweet dreams) They develop into sweet dreams (Sweet dreams develop into ideas) It's just the facts of life It's just the facts of life (Sweet dreams develop into ideas) There's no master plan (Ideas develop into sweet dreams) Walk me home from school (Sweet dreams develop into ideas) I'll let you hold my hand (Let you hold my hand)
Really beautiful song. Such a strange topic-it’s a comforting song about the naturalness of pubescent male sexuality. It’s crazy to hear a song that doesn’t compare the white man to Hitler.
ignorant asshat. it's about that awkward phase both boys and girls go through in early puberty, trying impress each other and the fantasy of love and rejection. the theme is clearly 50/50 and doesn't have anything directly to do about "male sexuality".

Without a doubt one of the most beautiful songs that I have ever heard. Deserved much more recognition than it received.
"No-one gets through life without being hurt"
Probably the most truthful lyric going.
I just found the single of this in a box, instantly remembered how beautiful it is. Thanks Mark n Lard
I remember this getting played quite a bit on Radio 1, around March/April 2000 time.
Lol, very specific , but yeah
I shared my Spotify with my grandmother. She played this song most of the time. My grandmother loves it so much!
what a cool granny
Another lost tune from 1999. Love this song so much.
Is that how old it is? I looked it up bc it’s one of those songs from many moons ago
@@Piwork69it’s either 1999 or 2000

I can't find proper words to describe the talent & uniqueness of that phenomenon in the world music! Keep rocking, Sarah!
Remember this one well and it's sure stood the test of time from 2000. Playing here in 2022

Most perfect British speaking, amazing
it’s great because unlike most songs you can actually hear the bloody lyrics without looking them up 😂😂
Don’t know why but today this classic made itself an ear worm.
I remember getting it on a free album from New Woman magazine in 2000; instant love.

There is no master plan. It's just the facts... Of life.
this chorus just popped into my head randomly after 20 years. Explain that in biology class

Radio would never play this. They play the same songs on a loop
This song specifically was on the radio pretty often when it first came out.
Yeah Mark and Lard played it constantly.
Just looked, it went top 20, they were on TOTP
If ASMR was a music genre
超性感的嘟嚕嘟嚕 超愛
This is a playing a lot recently on BBC6 Music, good song... but it came out 5 years ago?
Superb, Luke Haines is a genius.
oh my wow
Strangely this video cuts out almost an entire verse from the end.
Thats what music videos used to do for tv specifically.
música preferida da vida.
wow..
Haines could easily churn out commercial stuff but doesn't and I find that admirable.
Soft😌
Niceee

Radio 1 played this loads back in the day but it never became a big hit
