Great program! Unless you’ve done a track day it’s hard to get across how intimidating they could feel but how much fun they can be Congratulations to the two ladies for giving it a go
John and Peter are not just TT Legends but the calm and friendly guys that you see. Great to see our Olympic heroes showing their sporting character and determination to make progress and have fun. Breathe, Relax, and Look ahead is great advice for any rider; sled, cycle or Moto. Well done Bennetts, Triumph and Alpinestars. Perhaps a lap with Victoria and Amy on bicycles next, Lads..
@@bennettsbikesocial Michael, perhaps a lap at Silverstone would be kinder given the flatness of it? The Park circuits can be tough for cycling; Brands, Oulton, Cadwell, Donington...
Wow, what an amazing opportunity for the two women to have one on one instruction with McGuinness and Hickman. I'm definitely envious. If I lived in the UK I'd be signing up for a Bennetts track day for sure just to have the chance to be in the same paddock and on the same track as those two legends!
Great video. Really enjoyed their enjoyment of it. As someone who still feels nervous on the road, I really resonated with their progression throughout the day - from Amy beginning to enjoy the flow, to Victoria's reminder to breathe - those are the moments I enjoy most on the bike. Am almost tempted to try a track day myself!
Now I feel like going for a track day... The noise, the enthusiasm, the smell of exhaust, the high pitch of inline 4s screaming and the rumble of the V-twins and V-4s, all coming back from the depths of my memory and calling to me... Why did you have to come up with this video right before the winter?
Looking forward to my first track day next spring and I will be fortunate enough to have my son (ex BSB racer and his mate current MotoGP paddock to instruct me! Going to be special day also a Donnington 👍 Great to watch such enjoyment and progress on their track day 👍
If John McG & Peter Hickman teaching you are going to listen - great their pupils can follow them! As unfortunately a completely not athletic person it's fascinating to learn how these two Olympians approach things - god questions from Mr Mann
I spy Thrudark, nice choice Victoria ;D Great to see Bennetts promoting sporting legends like this. I'm yet to do a track day on a bike, I don't really have the right bike for it, but this has made me really want to come and have a go.
To get to the very top in any sport you initially have to have the right natural ability. If you don't have that start point I reckon no amount of training will get you to the top. But if you are good then there is room to improve. Then it is a mind game and dedication to that cause. Many top sports people can walk into a totally different sport and do way better than average. Some are so good at multiple disciplines they have to pick one to focus on. I am a firm believer in born abilities. Great artists, musicians and athletes etc. Then as they progress instruction from those ahead of you or that bit better helps speed that progression. The rest of us just look on and wonder why we missed out.
Random question, but do the boys get pump up when they’re doing the TT, call remember racing quad bikes in the past and you would get pump up in your arms and struggle to hold on
Enjoyed the video a fair bit but some feedback: I'm not a Brit so I had no idea who these ladies were bc they didn't get an introduction (and I'd bet many Brits don't know who they are either). Also the montages with the loud electronic music could be scrapped. Too much work in editing.
@beanwithbacon, in the UK if you win a gold medal it invokes a demi god status that can get you through the rest of your life so to the majority of non biking brits the girls need no introduction but most wouldnt know who the lads are despite being gods in the motorcycle world. Michael does credit everyone in the description so its easy to search each one, it would add 20 mins if he explained who they all are. Agreed on the the music is too loud. Ride safe and ride free wherever you are.
@@Phuc_Yhou Thanks for the explanation and interesting insight into UK culture. I looked the girls up later and it's amazing what they accomplished. Glad they had fun on track with the other two legends.
out of everyone you could do this with, Olympians is probably the easiest and best, they are use to taking info/direction and applying it. also amy is hot
Those ladies are badass! Well done. That Triumph is growing on me, but I still feel like Triumph is selling people a bike with the fairings missing. It's styling that's stuck between two worlds without having a foot planted firmly in either one. The sport bike is truly dead when companies are purposely selling them without fairings.
Giving complete novices 180hp bikes seems like overkill. They'd have gotten the same times out of ninja 400s with less initimidation. But, it's all an ad for Triumph, so I get it.
What an absolutely hilarious comment, not! Motorcyclists as a community are constantly under attack from not only the government and the media, but also the judiciary. We need as many people to take up the riding of motorcycling as possible. There is an increasing number of women taking to two wheels, imagine how they would feel reading your comment, better still imagine if it was your wife, sister or daughter thinking about taking their test.and they were to read what you had written. Bennetts Bike Social covers some very serious topics, (the sale of illegal safety equipment, bikers' rights and proper independent tests), your comment only serves to reinforce the popular stereotype of bikers and it belongs in the 1980s. Ride safe!

Not sure about that, bicycles yes but sliding down an icy track on a tea tray for me is more scary than going for the lap record at brands.
