Wow, you have a lot of back episodes. This is great. Going to share far and wide. Can’t wait for the Basil Tikoff Hit and Run model.

I took Geology 100 (basically Science for Artsy-fartsy students) and plate tectonics had not penetrated into the classroom by that point in time, 1967). As I recall mountains seem to have emerged on their own and we did a lot of rock identification and fossils, which was cool at the time. I love these presentations and the detail is much appreciated. Thanks for all of your work. So is the great unconformity visible in the Tetons (like that sandstone at the top of the mountain?

Yup, that would indeed be part of the "great unconformity" correlated to the Grand Canyon and many other places throughout the Western US! Thanks for watching!

I would date the initiation of movement on the Teton fault at 4.5 million years. This is based on the relative positions of the Huckleberry Ridge tuff and the Kilgore tough exposed on signal Mountain along with the Tewinott deposits dated around 10 million years that are dipping at the same Angle as the Kilgore.

That is indeed one of the prevailing ideas, going back at least to Pierce and Morgan, 1992!

You just confirmed the lies we are taught.
In 1990, a geology professor took 10 yeae old lave from Mt St Hellen and had it dated. The results came back that this lava was liquid 400,000,000 years ago.
When Noah's flood happened, there were 26 miles of water over the land. And it was in motion because of the spinning planet.
The ground was in a blender.
You get the same effect when you put 6 inches of dirt in a 5 gallon bucket, fill it with water and put the lid on it, and then put that bucket in a paint shaker for 24 hours and then wait a week for the dirt to settle out.
Then you cut the bucket in half, you get the Grand Canyon formation in a week.
Another example is the grand Canyon of Mt St Hellen, which formed in a week by melting glacier water.

Lunatic, you need to find a cosy little fantasy world where science doesn't exist. Oh wait, maybe you're already there!
