I ran into one of these at work, yesterday. Dude said he got it for $1800 and was annoyed that he couldn’t zero it and asked us to troubleshoot it for him. We took one look at the windage and elevation knobs knew it was gonna be bad news. Dude was not happy.
I got the sams EG acog and im really disappointed with it. The objective lens is not properly focussed which leads to parallax and eyestain. And the crosshair is tilted to the side. I tried to fix it but i damaged the prisms. How is it on your replica?
Yes. Trijicons rights to the design ran out so they can legally replicate the real acog design. I've taken one apart. It uses the fiber optic and 2 prisms
@@DevTechGaragei have one of the EGs and want to put a better fiber optic in it to make it brighter. do i have to take it apart or can i unpin the fiber optic tube and slide the old one out, and slide a new one in as simple as that or is it pinned/glued on the inside as well? And could a guy put a tritium vial of some kind inside do you think? I dont want to take it apart just yet.
@@ryanboyd362 you can buy a small tritium vile for a kit 30 dollars, undo the 4 screws at the back and you'll have access to the fiber optic, do not use super glue to attach vile as the fumes themselves will coat the glass. I would use a very small dab of something like a gasket maker, and put it close to the fiber optic. With my real acog, it was military surplus from 2008 so tritium was dead, so I bought a small vile and just taped it to the top of the acog up against the fiber optic.
@@ryanboyd362 the fiber optic is attached to the prism not the ocular lense, so pulling lense is easy. Be VERY GENTLE with removal though and do not touch the prism at all. If you get dirt or debris on it or any part in it it is near impossible to clean and trying to clean the prism can result it in breaking like I did to one of mine. Realigning and trying to find something to keep it in place is very difficult and tedious. At that point it would be better to purchase another one and keep the broken one to tinker with like I did until getting my genuine TA31RCOM150.
@@ryanboyd362 type in MixGlo and go to their store. I purchased the T25 small tritium vile. It's 2.5x10mm so it's small but it's nice and bright. Almost too bright at night to where it almost engulfs the object you're aiming at if you're too far away. Keep that in mind when placing tritium into the housing. Not too close and not too far.
Just ordered one of these. Does it light up at all when it's like, near black outside? Wondering how this would do for nightime airsoft battles at a Milsim West game or something like that. I know it doesn't have tritium like the real Trijicons do, but I'm interested to see how the fiber optic picks up ambient moonlight or something like that.
There is an after-market device that wraps around an acog with an led on it that illuminates the fiber to be used at night, similar to what you're wanting. I gotta believe there's a cheapy airsoft version of that, too
WOW! I dont know if it's easy to tell by feel and weight or not, I suppose so if you're REAL versed, knowledgeable, and experienced with acogs, but damn! They look identical in this video. And with the damn label being correct..... That would be absolutely gut-wrenching to learn you spent $1200-$1500, even if you thought it was a steal at $500 on a $250 replica😢. I truly empathize with anyone that's happened to.

Great video! Where can we get the copy?
Did you miss the part 0:12 where he said, "Evolution Gear"?
Or ebay for $158-$206 depending on the add on options you was as of 2-17-2024. I have one on my 5.56 and absolutely love it.

How is it on your replica?
I got the same, its a nice replica! Does your tower (windage etc.) adjustment also work the opposite?
I got one these too to test out and both of my windage and elevation went the opposite
Is the fake one actually a prism that utilizes the things on top too?

check serial number and you are good to go.
That lexan disc is actually coated for laser protection on the real deal.
