Who knew the reason Mei's mom is basically the person she is now was because of a childhood trauma, which was getting into an argument with her mom, and while in Red Panda mode, she gave her that scar. Wow, this movie really is a tear jerker.
I totally agree!
yeah a shame/sad that it didnt get the attention it deserves!
Luckily I didn’t hurt my parents physically as a kid. But I am scared to do it sometimes
@@manuelorozco7760 why is that!? 😱😱
@@alessiocece2098cause it to cringy to people
This movie is so underrated. The layers of storytelling and metaphor are so beautiful. Feminine rage and expressions of dominance and power are discouraged and looked down upon in so many cultures that recontextualizing it into a just and righteous form with the red panda has so much power. Anger is not a bad thing. What we do with that anger is where the harm lies. The harm is in how we nurture and suppress that anger and let it simmer into resentment and rage, until something triggers the inevitable explosion. Ming’s panda form being so large and powerful that it’s nearly impossible to control and deal with is an intense metaphor for the way that pain can cause one to be an abusive monster. Seeing the pain and fear that lies at the heart of that anger is where healing and understanding comes.
Turning red (kingdom hearts)
Young Ming looks so beautiful, but at the same time, I feel very bad for her actions to her own mother in the past. This is why I cry every time I watch this scene. Nobody is perfect, but they are perfect just the way they are. 😭❤
Me too.
Mature Ming tho is the best 😏you know what they say the older the berry the sweeter the juice 😳
Same😅

This is the best scene in the movie hands down. Powerful, emotional, & relatable
1:43 yes, of course.
I’ve never seen a movie so encapsulate that feeling of the first hug with your mother after a fight before. It’s like feeling a physical weight lifting off of you.
I wish Mei's mom, grandma and aunties decided to keep their panda powers like Mei. Mei would teach them how to control them without amulets or jewelry
Toronto would most likely be destroyed by Ming's red panda.
I didn’t expect it even a little bit
Tbf, it’s easier to have learned how early on as a kid, than you would as an adult.
It’s hard to learn new things as an adult. Heck, adults still act like kids and throw tantrums because no one ever made them learn any different.
It’s not impossible, and it would be better for them to learn as opposed to taking the easier way, but it will take longer and this is also the safest way by that point.
“You don’t have to apologize.. I’m your mother”
I love my mom. My heart goes out to all mothers in the world, the ones who try but still aren’t perfect but still try to try.
My mom is an amazing mom. I hope I am with her in this life and the one after that and the one after that for eternity.
This is where Turning Red was taken to a whole new level besides the Panda fight. I’m 30 I have autism and I get scared sometimes to lose my composure and hurt someone. This movie speaks to me as a disabled adult who still lives with his parents and as a millennial who was into boy bands of that era. Some ways my parents and I try to make it work.
Agreed
@@TheWarlordNinja Why thank you
True
@@zeus9272 How so
@@manuelorozco7760 I’m a one of Being Forced but Doesn’t Heavily like Mei and Ming I’m Autism and sometime get scared by Parents but Deeply I’m actually Kind to Them
Parents have got to learn to not pressure their children and see that they’re growing up
I feel pressured sometimes even if I’m 30
Excessive pressure can lead to aggravated rebellion
The pressure to be perfect put on kids can bring out the worst in them
We must all go back to our childhood always in order for true healing to begin.
I can relate
Ming’s mom treated Ming like how Ming treated Meilin! That needs to stop permanently!
I love this movie so much 😭 this part made me emotional because it reminds me of my own mother and myself. The relationship between Mei and Ming is very similar to the relationship I have with my mom. Well, it’s gotten better, just as they have 🥰❤️
This was my favourite scene in the entire movie.
Please continue to make movies without stereotypical villains ❤
I agree! After Coco I got so tired of twist villains.
@@manuelorozco7760me too.
@@nathancruz9172Thank you. I prefer either traditional villains or slice of life with misguided characters.
How come we can see Ming Lee like that as somewhat being a sister to Mei Lee than being her mother? Her young self looks beaufitul than what we got!
I love watching animation once in a while and this movie was so heartwarming and lovely! the story melted my heart! ❤😭😥🧡
Turning Red, congratulations at succeeding where Pixar failed once before with Brave 10 years ago. I really hated how insufferable and annoying Merida and Elinor were, and I did not care about their personal conflict. I wish Brenda Chapman did not get fired from director duty, but because she said her vision for the story she wrote still came through...I can kind of see why she got fired if that had to be done to salvage the movie's production when she already made it hard for us to like Merida and Elinor. I already forgot most of what I watched happen in Brave, but I could care for Mei Lin and Ming in Turning Red because the story gave us a natural reason to like them and feel empathy for them, even when they did not get along.
I felt bad for Ming…I can understand what she’s been through. I mean I’ve never been through any of that stuff, but I know some characters who’ve been through this, like Adrien and Kagami (Miraculous), Mirabel and Isabela (Encanto), Chicken Little (but Buck did change and felt bad at the end), Merida (Brave), and Amity (Owl House). We need a sequel for this and in the sequel we can dig deep into Ming’s past.
me to i'm with you
There’s no such thing as perfect. You’re beautiful as you are, Ming Lee. Even with all of your imperfections, you and your daughter can still do anything to make the world a better place.
You took that from a talking fish in a bathtub didn’t you?
Hey its still beautiful and true
And people say that Disney sucks.
Truly what a heartbreaking scene 🥹
Well done Disney. Well done 💌
Well, technically, Disney owns this movie. Pixar made it.
@@calebsimmons8691 Disney and Pixar don’t forged Disney Pixar
For reals
naw disney sucks they ruined star wars, the Mcu and are about to ruin indy.
Disney has been a mixed bag in recent post Encanto times. But this is one of its bright spots
To think this movie would make this cry with this one scene. Ming just resonated with me.
I absolutely adore this movie!! Turning Red and Onward are my favorite Pixar movies where the director tells their personal story!! Turning Red was an absolute masterpiece from start to finish!! Thank you everyone at Pixar for making it!!🥹🥰😭💚💚💚
I love how Mei sees her Mom Young.
Such a powerful scene from this movie!!!
One of the best animated movies in Pixar history.
The Daisy mart has lost a loyal customer today!

This is the perfect movie for Mother's Day.
That movie wasn’t bad, it’s so good I was hoping for a sequel👍🏻
I do hope for a sequel too. But a good story has to come first
Same…hopefully we can dig deep into Ming’s past.
One like equals we urge Disney to make a turning red 2

I'm a middle aged white guy and I loved this film too. Great movies let you experience the lives of people even if they are different than you.
This scene was Absolutely Amazing! ❤🎉😊
Man the TEARS. Grandmother said so much in so few words.
This scene changed my relationship with my mom for the better. Eye-opening.
Miguel: I promise, I won’t let Coco forget you!

Greatest scene is when Mei walking into spirit forest with her Mother. Ming, Mei's started to age up from a teenager to adult and the forest gets darker to brighter like darkness to light.
This was a beautiful scene!
I think Ming was older than Mei was when she had her ritual. Ming and Jin would’ve been in high school for such a fight.
This movie is honestly so underrated.. rlly ended up being a beautiful movie
This scene was very emotional and relatable I love Turning Red its my favorite movie!🐼❤
This movie was amazing! ❤
Cena linda ❤😊
Absoulutly one of the best Disney Pixar movies. The acting is absoulutly perfect and the way Mei and Ming help eachother out is absoulutly beautiful. Good thing they're relationship with Wu helped as well the love the family have for eachother truly shows in many parts❤❤❤❤
Be careful what you wish for, Ming.

Ming's Hair:
1:36 1:41 1:46(back to Normal😊)
Random but Ming looks great with red hair.
I agree she has the same hair color as mei and she looks like mei’s older sibling (the young mom)
To think this was last year man
This is really a shot in the heart. It's hard to be in either role. As a child, you want the independence but also to full fill others' expectations. As a adult you basically going through the same when you are a child but also with the fear that your own child would go through hardship, so you would do your best to protect them. Either way, i think no matter what role you are in, you just want the perfect for both worlds, but you might just end up hurting both at the end, and that becomes fear. It's just hard to find the balance.
Ming's actress is absoulutly brilliant she fits the character perfectly absoulutly love her❤❤❤❤
I feel so sorry for Mei's mom she’s being bottling all that up for years and she's hasn't forgiven herself for what she did all those years ago.
I can actually relate in a way, I keep blaming myself for being too much of a burden for my mom ever since my early teen year's, I wish I could do something to lift this burden off her shoulders and maybe take a little bit of her pain too.
Ming, Wu and the aunties look lovely with red hair
Should be shown in the theaters. ❤
I saw it at the El Capitan in Hollywood when they did a one week engagement
Guess what
Love this movie❤
First two acts had their ups and downs. But this scene really sold me on Turning Red’s payoff.
I feel the same way. That and the Panda fight
I'm So Addicted To This Movie But This Scene Is Emotional 😢
Turning Red is one of those Pixar movies that I _really_ enjoy because I did not expect much from them and they really surprised me with how great and emotionally deep they were. I found myself feeling the same way about Finding Dory and Elemental. I liked Turning Red so much, I made a three-part video on April 1, 2023 that explains how I believe Domee Shi could save Hollywood. Hey, would you like to see a Turning Red prequel set 2 1/2 years earlier about the origin of Mei befriending Abby, Miriam, Priya and Stacy? Stacy is the one friend who did not remain close with the other four girls, but she is still present somewhere in the original Turning Red film. August 3, 2023, 1:41am
0:24 Young Ming's glasses that looks like Sadness from Inside Out.
I can compare this to gacha and anime in so many ways I swear
2:16 Also that “I’m Sorry” was the most canadian quote I have ever heard in the movie
Shut Up
I Agree with the 999,999 UA-cam-Viewers On UA-cam, This Movie Really Is 100% Underrated 👍👍👍
0:17 So sad 😔
this is such a powerful scene that it makes me tear up every time
This scene always makes me cry
Princess Olivia and Jose carioca are falling in love and best friends forever and ever
I watched this movie last year.
I Agree with Meilin Lee, Ms. Ming Lee, And You Know What, You Don't Have To Be A Bad Guy, You Are The Most Talented, Most Interesting, And most extraodinary person in the universe. And you are capable of amazing things. Because You are the Special. And So Is Your Daughter Meilin Lee. And So Is Everyone. The Prophecy is made up, but it's also true. It's about all of us. Right Now, Ms. Ming Lee, it's about you. And you still can change everything. We Mean It. 👍👍👍
a shame this movie didnt get (a chance to get) into the movie Theaters!!
I admit Disney did act hastily when it came to that state of the Pandemic. But I was lucky to see it in Hollywood
@@manuelorozco7760 oh really? 🤔 it was an exception there?
@@alessiocece2098 Yes for a one week engagement at the El Capitan. It was my first time there since the OG Frozen in 2013.
Ming you need to understand that mei is 13 and not a baby anymore she is smart and she is a red panda
It was a great movie with animation, but never felt the story made me want to cry and I was not the full biggest fan of the film but it was good
well, that was emotional.
I am watching Turning Red right now on Disney+.
From what I can tell the whole indecent with mei's mom and grandma it seemed to be an accident she couldn't control her red panda powers
I felt the same way too. At first. I thought I was a perfect but things not getting right in my own direction. I learn a very valuable lesson from this movie. Nobody is perfect, but they are perfect just the way they are.
I love this scene so much.
This is my favourite scene from turning red
This clip should be called mother daughter bonding time.
Mom & Daughter❤😢
I LOVE THIS SCENE SO MUCH!❤️🐼🥺❤️
Just over a month until Elemental releases! I can't wait!
I love you guys
I saw it and it hold a deep meaning occasionally saved her mutation the REDPANDA
And Yes, I Got That Motivational Quotes From The Lego Movie 1, Ms. Ming Lee. 👍👍👍
I love this sad scene. 😭😭😭🩵🩵🩵🔴🔴🔴🐼🐼
Sooo Beautiful❣🥺
Sometimes we just forget that it's our mom's first time in this life too, that they make mistakes, and that they aren't perfect neither. I think it's just a matter of patience as it is really frustrating how we get angry with them.
dis scene makes me cry
I feel bad that this didn't win the awards
So do I
There's an old phrase saying "Not everyone's always perfect."
0:23 For people wondering, that’s Mei’s mom, Ming as a kid.
This is the best scene in Turning red❤
The scene that got me to pause it first because I got so many tears
I Wanna Watch This Movie👍👏🎦🎥🍿!
Emotional moment
It looks like a metaphor for why bamboo was used in the movie Current War.
Genetic light that is passed down from parents to children for generations.
I think it's like the light when they find Kaguya-hime.
Eda?
Bernie: I hid a camera. And this time I got ‘em!
Mirabel: I will never be good enough for you…will I?
Ming: I’m never gonna be good enough for her…or anyone!
Bernie: Coincidence? I think NOT!
This scene always make me cry man like all the time🥺
Well said, Mei, well said!
I love Disney Pixar, Turning red movie. This is not the best Disney Pixar movie, but this is really good movie.
I'm crying 😭😭😭 and I think I'm not good enough for my mom's too ,but I'm doing the best good only for I did it
