Part One was recorded in 1960, as part of a longer pilot titled "Frostbite Falls Follies," and, yes, that's Alan Reed voicing Fillmore. Part Two was recorded in 1964; by this time Reed was locked into doing "The Flintstones," and the part of Fillmore was taken over by Bill Scott.
"Hoppity my boy, as you grow older you will learn that as soon as you have any money at all, somebody is always going to try to take it away from you. And you know what we call that?" "Stealing." "No, income tax."
I'd forgotten how much fun this show was! When I was little I'd get up at six-thirty Sunday morning to watch it! You really can go home again (sometimes)!
Uncle Waldo : "You forgot to set the brake *you numbskull!"* Filmore : "You drove it last!" Uncle Waldo : "Well _accidents_ will happen." LOL That part kills me!
Alan Reed was supposed to do Filmore’s voice but he had to to Fred Flintstones voice for The Flintstones. So he was replaced by Bill Scott (Voice of Bullwinkle)
Bill Scott would do Filmore's voice in the remaining episodes, but he's voiced here by Alan Reed, on a brief sojourn away from Bedrock and the Hanna-Barbera studio.
That's because the first two episodes were produced in 1960, in order to "sell" the series to a potential sponsor. (you'll notice that background music by Dennis Farnon was used in them). Jay wasn't able to complete the entire story until he sold it to General Mills [and Topper Toys] in 1964. Because of this, Alan Reed was only heard during the first two episodes. He was already established as "Fred Flintstone" for Hanna-Barbera by the time "HOPPITY HOOPER" began production, so Bill Scott replaced him.
After the first two episodes were filmed, Reed was hired by Hanna-Barbera for "THE FLINTSTONES"- under an exclusive contract. Jay Ward had to find someone else to be "Fillmore's" voice for the series- and Bill Scott volunteered.
Can ANYBODY give me ANY information about the sound effect heared in the background when Waldo Wigglesworth rthinks? It was also used in the Clyde Crashcup and other cartoon series.
Ok, hear me out, I wasn’t paying attention to what I was watching, I thought I was watching Touché Turtle, because Filmore (I might’ve spelled that wrong…) Sounds exactly like Dum-Dum, and I discovered that Alan Reed (I might’ve spelled that wrong as well) voices both of these characters! Unfortunately, I think the voice for Filmore tends to change…Probably. 😋

"I had a line to say for you but it was censored." LOL - I do love Jay Ward's work.
"Can't you go any faster?" "I can, but this trucks holding me back."😃
I'm 55 and this is the first I've ever heard of this show. Weird, because I watched a lot of TV. I would have loved this.

@@YujiUedaFan God bless you for reminding me I made this comment.
I completely forgot I watched this on DVD when I was a kid and always thought it was some kind of sleep paralysis imagination
This cartoon is from Rocky and Bullwinkle Show
“Hoppity there’s a fortune up there we gotta catch it!”
Gets me every time 🤣
One of my favorites; As a kid, getting to see Hoppity made my day...Good memories.
Andre😊
I love that Saul Bass-like design in the opening sequence.
The Professor sounds strangely like Orson Wells and if I didn't know any better, Hoppity has the same nasal range as one Bart Simpson !
-and a female also voiced Bart Simpson.(Chuckle!)It was Nancy Cartwright...and no,she was not in Lost In Space.(That was Angela Cartwright.Chuckle!)
Back in the 1980s, this ran on ABC before the usual Saturday morning fare. I loved watching this!
"There's his name on the box."
"What is it?"
"Deh, it's Mail! U.S. Mail!" That left me giggling pretty hard.
I've been looking for this FOREVER! Thanks!!!!
I miss this cartoon.
I'd forgotten how much fun this show was! When I was little I'd get up at six-thirty Sunday morning to watch it! You really can go home again (sometimes)!
at the beginning one of the words are"poot"! I didn't see that before! wow!

Hoppity is adorable ☺️
I would imagine a group of fangirls would come and see Hoppity and give him kisses.
@@kaikobak1698 yeah
That episode opening is one of the all-time greats. Too bad the show itself didn't live up to it.
Hoppity Hooper is such a cute little froggy!
Yeah he is I also love his cute little voice
If he where brought back he’d be very marketable
@@skunkman9815 yeah
Hoppity is so adorable
For some odd reason, the animation in episode 2 is smoother than usual, and it has actual music.
Probably handled by a different studio team.
It was produced by Ward's own studio in Hollywood, rather than Gamma Animation in Mexico City.
Episode 2 was actually the pilot episode. 👍
Genius! Loved this as a child and remarkably it is still funny today!
In this, we hear three great radio actors Hans Conried Alan Reed, and Paul frees
How can a fox be an uncle to a frog?(Chuckle!)
Seriously though-Bill Scott sure sounded like Alan Reed. His Filmore was just like the original.
Alan Reed was supposed to do Filmore’s voice but he had to to Fred Flintstones voice for The Flintstones. So he was replaced by Bill Scott (Voice of Bullwinkle)
I think so too
The bear voice actor is Fred Flinstone.
Only in the 1st 2 segments then Bill Scott took over when Alan Reed was preoccupied with The Flintstones.
13:12 "I had a line hear to say but it was censored"
"I prefer to think of us as roving retailers."
Voices:
Chris Allen-Hoppity
Hans Conried-Waldo
Paul Frees-Narrator & other voices
Alan Reed-Filmore
It surprised me when I found out Chris Allen was a woman-and I recognized her voice in the 1966 cartoon,"The Space Kidettes."
When I thought of Chris Allen, I thought she was a boy instead.
Oof i loved this show when i was little so glade i found it

Another entertaining episode!
8:08 in 3D too
Hilarious

I love these cartoons
If Fillmore sounds different that’s because in this series pilot he was voiced by Alan Reed.
I remember this show
I wish Alan Reed would voice in more episodes
After the first two episodes were filmed, Reed was hired by Hanna-Barbera for "THE FLINTSTONES"- under an exclusive contract. Jay Ward had to find someone else to be "Fillmore's" voice for the series- and Bill Scott volunteered.
@@fromthesidelines Reed was also the voice of Touche Turtle's sidekick Dum Dum the sheepdog.

It's a shame Cyrus didn't get that wart removed from his nose!

Huge disagreement there. Sure, the animation isn’t good, but the humor, voice acting, and visual style more than make up for it.
