Max Starx (MUCH better Steelers O lineman than ANY of current players) frequently said "James Daniels is a man of the earth...because he's always on the ground".
Wow James Daniel is good OL it will be a mistake to give him up that’s why we deal with the draft. If you good as a rookie we will keep you but when you’re rookie contract is up we let you go so we don’t have to pay him good money so Keena Benton look out
Something people got understand is although James Daniels is a great OG, we have so many key free agents in 2025 that it is impossible to resign all of them. Isaac Seumalo is on the same level if not better than James and we have Isaac under contract longer. Plus we draft Mason McCormick to be the successor in planning for life after James. Making the tough choice to let James go allows us to focus on resigning Pat-Najee-Warren and possibly either Wilson or Fields depending on which one, if either of them, prove to be a longterm starter for Pittsburgh. Nobody is saying James is bad, it’s just the team has to focus on how to spend the money most effectively.
of course nobody is claiming he wasnt extended because of bad performance, and cap space is the obvious and ONLY reason, if any, to not do so. that is obvious imo.

Dotson is playing good u know why team makes it to the Superbowl they keep there team together
Steelers dont want to pay their best lineman because their cheap. No money spent on offense Rooney is a embarrassment.
You have to read between the lines. No one gives up a 23 year old starting guard (Bears) or a 26 year old starting guard (Steelers) just because. It’s not a football issue. It’s a locker room issue. So, what kind of issue would have two NFL locker rooms reject Daniels?
To be fair, the bears are NOT known to be a good franchise that makes good business decisions haha and the Steelers will not have the cap in 2025 to resign everyone and people will have to be cut. They drafted a guard in the 4th this year, so the cards are aligning to save money here.
Do you think it’s nuts the getting rid of Daniels 😂😂😂
I don’t see what’s so crazy about it if the guy brings the same level as James Daniel next year and we can pay him nothing move on we’re gonna have to pay a lot of positions next year
That’s why we can’t win the big games
It seems like the Steelers are trying to cut corners with their offensive spending, while continuing to pump big money on the defense. As you let guys go, you then have to use draft picks to replace them, instead of using the picks to improve weakened positions like WR!
Steelers hold the all time NFL record for the highest paid D NFL D ever in history...yet they were only ranked #21 out of 32 teams =underperforming coaching including subpar in-game head coach...BUT he gives cool speeches and is fun to play for ant makes Art Rooney II tons of money because National Media blindly promotes him to out of town fans.
Few if any of you under-informed out of town "Steelers fans" (who are really only mike tomlin fans) will upvote the truth i write...but that makes it no less 100% true.
Sad but true.
Omar knows what he’s doing, but if it was me, I’d probably re-up Daniels and groom McCormick as Seomalu’s eventual replacement. But I guess Anderson is the wildcard in all of that.
Semalu is better than Daniels, so your idea is not good.
@@trebordrum Seomalu is also older with an injury history, so my idea is just fine.
@@jagmd Isaac Seumalo
has another good five years in him and he’s had zero injuries with the Steelers. James Daniels has missed games with the Steelers due to injury.
James Daniels has been exaggeratingly hyped up by the media; yet Max Starks says he’s always on the ground.
I’m sticking with first team Pro bowl Steelers O lineman Max’s analysis of James Daniels and not your under informed opinion. K?
@@trebordrum and James Daniel’s is 4 or 5 years younger and can grow with a young line. And while Daniels has missed games, he hasn’t incurred any major injuries.
@@jagmd your obsession with injuries therefore supports my point because it’s Daniel’s who’s been out multiple Steelers games due to injuries versus Isaac Seumalo who has not missed any Steelers games and has been the much more reliable Steelers player as well as the more skilled Steelers lineman as well as their true veteran leader.
If Bears needed to improve their line and moved on from a 23 year old Daniels and Steelers are looking to move on from a 26 year old Daniels then how are you tripping and believing your own delusions that he’s somehow going to improve and that you know more than the coaches and front offices of two different NFL teams?
Steelers have plenty of actually young guys who actually are going to improve, so you need your best player who’s also the most veteran player in Isaac Seumalo to lead them and for you to say otherwise is simply not seeing truth.
BTW, I have yet to hear a single former teammate of Daniels rave about him being so great, versus Seumalo virtually. every player who’s played with him talks about him as great.
so again how is it that you think you know more than the guys who played next to these guys?
Daniels is a high end player but over the next couple years the financial situation is looking tight, real tight. So not resigning him for a cheaper (yet effective) option is fine by me. Besides, lets say McCormick or Anderson don't turn out to be really good. I know having deficiencies on the o-line is bad, but patch work is doable provided you got the left-tackle and center on lock. Which we do.
I think we'll be happy with the old line come two to three years from now.😊 These guys will grow together and become beast including McCormick
Remember Spencer Anderson can play ALL 5 position as well as be Daniel's replacement if McCormick doesn't pan out.
As much as you're likely right in our hopes being so high for McCormick, it wouldn't hurt for us to come back down to earth for a minute and recognize the highest level of football McCormick has ever played is 2nd rate NCAA Division II👀
The need to resign Dainel
I think Mason McCormick is a beast. I think he will do well for the Steelers
Steelers O line has been BELOW average in NFL the last few years including last year before the last 4 games when Mason Rudolph saved them by not holding on to the ball too long like the other QB's we had.
This year Russ and Justin hold on to the ball just as long as Kenny and Mitchell =the 2024 O line ain't gonna be above average, so much elite as so many uninformed fans deluded fans incorrectly assume.
Broderick and Isaac should be good tho,
Don't forget the with a new offensive system with Arthur Smith coming in QB's will have easier keys to read. A little dumbed down a bit. Smith will have to address that
@@dreadlock99tiger Russell Wilson‘s problem has never been needing a “dumbed down” system and never been his inability to read things. It’s simply he doesn’t want his personal stats to look bad with interceptions so he holds the ball, plus the fact he’s exceptionally short so to have a better view he often abandons the pocket early and then is so risk averse he won’t throw the ball and instead will take unnecessary sacks and that has continued no matter how many different offensive coordinators he had. for you to think 35 years old (turns 36 this season) is going to magically change now is laughable.
It’s good you’re optimistic friend, but it’s better to be realistic🖤💛♥️
@@dreadlock99tiger Damn i b dumb, Tiger! Didn't recognize U at first! U right that Smith will have a system easier for all the new and young guys!
I was just saying that doesn't change Russell being Russell...for good or bad.
Much love!!❤
I think it will be fine, he was our best looking lineman but there were many plays he looked lost and he isn’t an anchor like lineman to an o line
Khan & Co has done such a great job the past 2 seasons that i find the 5th yr decline of Najee suprising BUT the non extension of Daniels as completely bonkers and not understood., regardless of cap space. 🤔
Problem is noah, you should actually know the answer to why they are not signing Daniels...you are supposed to b inside, right??
Lowk we should trade Tj, CAM, and Najee for cmc and 2 first round picks and deebo
Thank God you aren’t our GM
@@williammcclung6092 I’m joking
and the Easter Bunny ?
If u gonna get resigned u better be a to 10 on the Steelers at something..
