Also be sure to note: Just because the siren turns off DOES NOT mean that the threat has passed!! Sirens are designed to only run for 3 minutes at a time. Stay in shelter even if the siren has turned off.

I had a chance to meet him when Hurricane Ivan was on it's way to Pensacola Florida. I was with some friends in Gulf Breeze Florida when The Weather Channel was setting up to report on the beach. Very nice guy.

I was on my tiny red school bus on my way to get dropped off and we stopped at the Oakwood elementary school and took cover there EVEN THO IT WAS A REAL TORNADO!!!! But it was nowhere near us

Jim Cantore is entertaining as all get-out. This was fantastic. My only complaint is that that is an air-raid siren, not a tornado siren. Maybe they're different in different areas, but I am used to hearing a steady siren.

I grew up in Michigan, knowing what it meant when the sky turned a really sickly yellow/green and the air had a surreal quality to it. I remember many times, as a child, spent in the basement without power wondering when it would be safe to go upstairs. This video did a great job of describing what was happening, what you needed to do, and how many people have survived and coped. Wish we could have seen it back then. Thank goodness for people like the Red Cross and local churches who step up to have the backs of their neighbors. You're all in our thoughts and prayer
Wow...just wow. This is by far the best, most interesting, well narrated, amazing production value, attention holding, short educational tornado video I've ever seen. I think it'd be a great school educational video, especially for Jr High & High School age kids, in regions known to be high risk for tornados.👍🏼🙂
What wonderful CGI. The best part is that I caught on very quickly that the outdoor scene was CGI, but it wasn't until the first disruption than I realized the studio itself was CGI. That was a cool moment.

am mg in all fairness, Twister was made in 1996. CGI was in its very infancy. Imagine what this special effects dude could do with a modern day serious remake. Not this politically correct remake stuff they're doing now to ruin all movies like Ghostbusters... just a real remake would be incredible.

Twister was filmed in the summer of 1995 , first there is planning and casting, storyboards, etc. That is called pre production, then there is production which is filming, then there is post production which is where editing and special effects are rendered into the film, this process can take up to a year depending on how many vfx shots are used in the film. So, as i said, Twister was filmed in the summer of 95, and was released on may 17th 1996.
Honestly, the CGI/AR is pretty good, considering this isn't a big movie studio.

I grew up in Michigan, knowing what it meant when the sky turned a really sickly yellow/green and the air had a surreal quality to it. I remember many times, as a child, spent in the basement without power wondering when it would be safe to go upstairs.
This video did a great job of describing what was happening, what you needed to do, and how many people have survived and coped. Wish we could have seen it back then. Thank goodness for people like the Red Cross and local churches who step up to have the backs of their neighbors.

What wonderful CGI. The best part is that I caught on very quickly that the outdoor scene was CGI, but it wasn't until the first disruption than I realized the studio itself was CGI. That was a cool moment.

am mg in all fairness, Twister was made in 1996. CGI was in its very infancy. Imagine what this special effects dude could do with a modern day serious remake. Not this politically correct remake stuff they're doing now to ruin all movies like Ghostbusters... just a real remake would be incredible.

Twister was filmed in the summer of 1995 , first there is planning and casting, storyboards, etc. That is called pre production, then there is production which is filming, then there is post production which is where editing and special effects are rendered into the film, this process can take up to a year depending on how many vfx shots are used in the film. So, as i said, Twister was filmed in the summer of 95, and was released on may 17th 1996.
