I don't understand why basses don't get more attention. This is art.
“Okay here’s your music guys. Bass 2, go grab your music from the snares”
That’s so true
Upper two basses are just glorified snare drums
1:12
@@ChrisDrums13 not their fault theyre the ones with the highest tension lol
The split 16th notes are on point man. Flawless
Bass 2 gets all the action.
Thats usually how it is. Its my freshman year and for marching band I was 5th and then this winter im 2nd and I can say its differently a big jump.
Usually 1,2&3 are the only bass that played the most. During summer, I'm on bass three, and I played pretty much the whole song. Bass five barely play. Bass four is little more. Then the other higher bass is like the whole song.
Kelvin Chau I am aware of the process, just making a statement.
J. St.Valle True. But boys, you know you have a bad assed bass line when every single drum is strong. Only then can you achieve true bass line nirvana.
this is very true. Strong bass lines are sick as hell. (and im a girl btw)
Goddamn bass 2 just played a seven with one hand. CHOPS!
Beautiful. Simply awesome. My only wish is that they put the boom mic right in from of the bass line, and centered the camera on them. But, I'll take it!
Man. Bass two is just like "ALL THE ROLLS!"
how do they play those drums without their wrists being sore as hell with that technique?
+herp derp My corps uses the same. If you use it well, the only thing that hurts is your fulcrum. That's why my left wrist always hurts and my right is usually fine lol...
Practice. The more you do it, the more the technique becomes ingrained in your muscle memory.
I'm first bass in my HS band. Definitely showing my line this for motivation. Excellent Video
Weeeehhhhhhh!!!! My mind is blown!!! How does the human brain articulate such wonderful splits?!
I love their stance at the end of each session
I wish there was a pdf file that we could use to print off every piece tenors snare and bass drrum
1:52 my goodness the impact...and it makes it sound as if the basses are playing of the snares and tenors but the basses are playing the same thing...the snares and tenors are playing off of the basses instead
0:59 HOLY SWEET MOTHER OF GOD
This Bass 2 is Jesus
And thats why they won percussion
Its a little early to speculate that dont you think? Especially since BD and the Cadets havent even met yet. ANd ive seen both lines live recently. They are both extremely clean. SO yeah dont judge until finals week lol
Wow 16th note split singles? I didn't know that even existed. Mindblow:O
Wait until you here 32nd note split singles...
Just SICK! ( and I mean that in the highest regard) .
Gahhhh Cadets book always has sweet bass. 2011 was so hot.
More of these pleaaaasseee :/
Sweet licks
Rip Cadets 🫡🥁
Educated musician here, totally inexperienced with drumline. Honest question: how is 1:00 possible? Shared alternating 16ths between two players? I can think of a couple things that would make this executable, but I want to hear it from someone experienced. Enlighten me!
In drum terminology these are called "Hand to hands". Basically the way you learn to play these is with muscle memory. If I know exactly how fast the notes I'm playing are, all I have to do is come in after the person playing downbeats and play at the same hand speed. Not sure if I did a good job explaining, but if you're interested there's a good video on hand to hands on the channel Bass Drum Group
@@ryanbishoop I did see another video that described that, thank you for confirmation... just seems crazy difficult!
@@sushiman75just wanted to pop in and say that it was actually a split single because it was done on just the right hand. A hand to hand implies it is played with alternating sticking, and allows for even faster, more difficult splits.
1:22 , the triplets in the middle, there are eight written buy they only play four
there's also a missing part at around 1:30 in the rest
I'm pointing it out for people trying to learn. In case they thought they were missing something. Mind your own business
***** HOLY FUCKING SHIT I PUT SIMPLE AND SIMPLY!!!! OH AND IT WAS ON THE INTERNET WHERE PEOPLE TOTALLY ALWAYS USE ESSAY WRITING MATERIAL.
This guy just called me out for saying a note was wrong and he just said you spelled something wrong lol like really
Wow, look at how bad your grammar is: it's "Oh no, oh no. What will I do?"
Can you imagine if Crown put up any brass parts for people to learn their music?
Sick!!!!!
there is always that one bass at 0:42
So is it just me or are basses 1-3 the same size
Cadets are gonna take high drums!!!!
GOD DAMN.
HELL YEAH BASSES!!!!
Dat bass two tho at 1:11
1:13-1:20... bass 2 is just tearing it up... holy shit...
I miss baseline... would do it in a heart beat....😥
@PlushChronicles it may be early to speculate but BDs book will not allow for a Championship. Sorry it just won't. It's nothing like last year. Whatever that rim click crap is in the Opener is dirty and so are all the split snares in the opener. I'm just disappointed. But ultimately we will have to wait for Champs
yours too wow i thought i was the only one
how? not disagreeing, just wondering how
Well, as of last night Cadets placed first in percussion against SCV and BD.
RJ!!!
I always like the bass drum ones, because they’re the only ones I stand a chance at ever being able to play.
Omg. Nice
"drum-gasm" WOW!!!! That is....damn well freaken cool!
who the fuck disliked this?!!?! May have been a blue devil..
True, however BD is known for completely re-vamping their book to allow for best success. Idk, we will have to see. This is how it was last year early season so idk.
OHHHH the OFF BEATS!!!! 1:46-2:19
Holy babies
how does me wanting more make me made?
Fucking Nice!
Bass 1 is on my college drumline O_O
oh....my.
It would be cool if you could actually hear the basses.
I don't even know anymore
Main drum
Dat bass 2 skill.
As long as I'm not bass 2 I could get it eventually
Load. Blown.
Split flammed hertas... Because cadets that's why
aww man now my keyboard is all sticky
i mean... come on
my face the whole time.... :O
Let me just grab my bassline here...
@1:01 bruh
no
Scratch that. 1-4
Thanks for the spam.
too bad I can't read drum music XD
Can you read any music? If so than you can read "drum music". Same thing. It's actually easier because you don't have to change notes.
smoshman6000 True true. You can pick up rhythms pretty quick if you have some music experience though
I think youre mad because it's already transcribed. haha
Bass 5? GROW UP
Sick!!!
