This is great! I always think of George Bruns as the "Disney movie music guy" (along with Buddy Baker & others). But regarding another post -- THIS is "thematic music" for the dunder heads who go around "expecting perfect RAW authenticity". That's fine. Go LISTEN to THAT music. "Be authentic" if that's all you can comprehend. The REST OF US LIKE "portrayed thematic music". It's like a soundtrack to a movie. So this was some of the music I heard waiting to go in the Tiki Room all those years ago.... THANKS for uploading this. [:-)]
I just bought this LP at Goodwill for 15 cents. Someone dumped off a lot of ancient Disney albums from the mid-60's. I got a halloween haunted house "spooky sounds" one and a compilation of the top Disney tunes, which also features the song from "Song Of The South" on it.
In my humble opinion this is the corniest of music, ridiculous, boring and racially insensitive. This is lacking in soul. Good for sampling and shameless appropriation. Post humanously he deserves it
You obviously don't know music then. A quick Wikipedia search can enlighten you--it's recently been my musical fix. This album features steady rhythms kept often by ukulele strum, the second song has the slack key feel (kind of a blue grass slide guitar influence, called the dobro there, but this seems purer and I believe a theramin could be the instrument in the first slides). The form used in weaving the instruments is largely contrapuntal (classically influenced) and the melodies are beautiful! Corny, maybe, as it's from the sixties and has a romantic vibe to it all. Ridiculous is a nondescript adjective anymore, boring is subjective (and from a musical perspective, this is leisurely in overall sound, yet highly intricate arrangement and style with the melody being passed along seamlessly between instrument voices). Racially...it's the Hawaiian Strings, and in it you can hear the influences of original Hawaiians and the adaptations with bluegrass influence particularly. Lacking in soul is another subjective criticism, yet can be pretty clearly demonstrated by the dynamic rise and fall, clear voicing of arrangement, and the glissando in both the melody and harmony. And get your "humble" criticisms spell checked, its posthumously.
I'm vacationing in Maui right now and listening with total gratitude to you for this upload! Magical, transportive, heavenly.

that's a great value. I got this off eBay forever ago for a few bucks - now sells for stupid high prices online.
Wow, really? I never knew. I grabbed it because I like 60's Hawaiian music.
150 bucks on discogs now - what a shame...we need a reissue 👌
@@delbertgrady damn what happened that made this so rare. i still have it
@@MrWolfSnack i know: greed and no brains (people listening to Kanye West and Taylor Swift thinking this is music)
This was the background for Adventureland Veranda restaurant in Walt Disney World for years.
Also at Disneyland's Tiki Room
very beautiful music, knowing the melody the orchestra arrengement enhances it.

I wonder who is playing the steel guitar and very nice ukulele?
perfeito para sonhar
Beautiful! Not really what I would call "Hawaiian", but I wish they had added an Hawaiian steel guitar to the band. I love the selections.
Is there any way to download Chris' restoration?
VidtoMP3.com
Is there a playlist on Apple Music?
Modern day Disney music has subliminal perverted cues throughout
