Now that I own this game...... I love it. Phenomenal. This would have been one of the best games if not the best game back in the day. It's crazy because it isn't really doing anything special or out of the ordinary. It's just that it does it. Period. The execution is perfect. I wonder what his next game will be like. Hopefully it's another adventure of some sort. Infinite dungeons for high scores is a nice touch too.... so if you manage to finish the game.... you can try to beat the creators high score... which i think is somewhere around the 33rd level, can't remember. Hoping this makes it to a round on the HSC one day.
All they had to do was realize that people really, really liked Adventure, and make more games like that. The 2600 catalog you got with every game more or less spelled out why the library really didn't have very many decent games: In the "adventure" section, there were only ever *three* games total: Adventure, Haunted House, and Superman. You could maybe slot E.T. into that category. Maybe. But yeah, games where you had a bit of a world to explore were too darn rare. So along comes Legend of Zelda, which has so many resemblances to Adventure (screen-by-screen travel, sword, dragons, keys, dungeons with entrances in the middle of the screen, *a portable bridge ffs*) that it's practically a sequel. Surprise surprise, it's a runaway success.
This and Ninjish are on my list of "need to own". Can't wait to pick up a copy of these carts. I loved Anguna and I'm really looking forward to playing this game. I know it's a different author but it's a similar style of Zelda clone top-view action/rpg.
Pretty cool, this one must not have very much Rom on the cart judging by the looks of it though. Still, I think that people would of loved this as an early title for the VCS.
THe Original controllers were SO FUN! What's up with all this Homebrew Atari stuff? I wrote hundreds of great Atari games. The only way to share them back then was buying cases of beer or letting my kids check them out. A lot of my best stuff, nobody saw. The whole shebang got left behind in a move. There was no damn internet and the computer stuff cost a fortune/ You mean I could be rich now, if we kept it all? Damn!
Oh wow! I love adventure/fantasy games on Atari, and this looks fantastic. Looks very much inspired by Secret Quest, which is certainly not a bad thing. I will definitely pick this up in the future, as long as it will work on a 7800. :)

One of those "I would have gone crazy about this game back then". This is really cool.
The crypt looks scary...can't wait to play this
This looks great! I love the box art, it reminds me of Masters of the Universe.
"By the power of GreySkull!"
Just think what a massive hit such a game would have been in 1982.

Great enemy designs here--particular the two colored stripy ones!

I love how this game looks. I must have this.
Nice video, and nice homebrew game! Have my copy on order, and can hardly wait.
Great looking game! Well done!

Yes, it'll run fine on an Atari 7800. :)
@@AtariAge Awesome! And did I read the packaging right on the thumbnail? Random dungeons?
@@drunkendelver1966 Yes, the dungeons are randomly generated.
Need a few more well designed SFX. But otherwise brilliant.
Zelda vibes here :D amazing game!
This reminds me of an old MSX game called Alcazar. Does anyone know about it?
What the Hell is that stick that follows you around in some rooms supposed to be?
what is the evil cursor that attacks you?
Does the cart work on Retron 77?
Download?
