We also purchased a brand new commercial grade, zero turn Toro two weeks ago. 0% financing. Toro is very reasonably priced in comparison to some of the other top brands. We love it
I would send them back if your original cv axels are working good so far. That is some very poor shipping. I work for a freight company, and that’s just unacceptable. Same with the wheel hub.
Down here in south Louisiana that’s a baby we have over hundred acres and 15 acres of that gets cuts on a 60 inch and it’s to small we need a 72 inch but there so pricey but you will love that zero turn way faster for cutting grass happy for you
Once you get used to it, you will love it. I bought a Toro timesaver 5000 pro zero turn that was the year prior model at a discount price and 18 month 0 interest. Toro's moto is " It's not how fast you can mow, but how good you can mow fast" lol
I recently bought a Hustler Super Z HyperDrive with the 60” VX4 deck. This thing is a BEAST of a mower. So I know the feeling of having a full blown commercial grade mower. And the Vanguard BigBlock®️ engine from Briggs & Stratton gives me all the power and torque my mower needs.
Id send em back if it were me for my miata. Its my baby and u seem to be the same way with your burban. Its one of the reason i enjoy your channel, great minds think alike u kno.
I would've lost it if you spliced in a cut from your living room window showing the wifey holding her coffee cup, looking outside at you talking to the camera at the end of the selfie-stick pointing to the mower, and shaking her head wondering why people find these things so interesting. Keep up the great work Jimmy. I always look forward to your videos!
i used to mow with a traditional mower from 6th grade to sometime in highschool, took 3-4 hours. when i got to use a zero turn it took just over 1 hour. with your amount of lawn you could've looked into an old ford 9n or massey fergusen with a belly mower
Is say with the cv axles clean the grease out of the end that was open repack it full of grease, verify your abs tone ring isn’t damaged and put those reman cv axles on the suburban
Man Jimmy you live on a ranch.? Man the a nice place you got there. I use to work in golf course maintenance an use to operate a Toro zero mower there a lot of fun an they get the job done right.
a good zero turn is nice to have. we have a John Deere 130 lawn tractor. Just got a Bad Boy Maverick 54" Kawasaki 726 and a good zero turn cuts your mowing time in half and its fun
Dry bearing. Replace both sides. I would change the CV axles also while you are in there. Like the mower. Drove and older version of one just like it at municipal airport in NC. You can mow down small trees with those. If you start feeling like you need that seat belt, it is the machine telling you to slow down or take a different approach to that hill you have. Keep your tire pressures on the low side, get a gauge meant for mowers. Check them. Be safe with that bad boy, and no donuts in the wet leafy grass (when she's looking).
I was really hoping you was gonna do videos on restoring that old zero turn you pulled out behind your house with the suburban. I just got an old snapper push mower and a 1970 lawn boy riding mower, going last weekend. I think the lawn boy rider is a 26 inch cut single blade but it cuts so pretty. I’m happy as heck with them. Your current mower is super nice but was hoping to see you fix up that old mower.
I love my commercial grade zero turn that I bought 9yrs. ago for residential use. If taken care of you shouldn’t have to buy another mower and from the looks of your videos I believe you have that covered. If it were me I would return the parts and continue searching.
With regard’s to that CV axle that you’re concerned of a possible contamination, I would if possible, clean-it up, remove the grease that’s on it now. I mean clean it up really good then repack it with new grease. Might as well take that extra steps for peace of mind.
I have the FX801V on my mower as well. Lots of power so far just likes to drink the fuel. The FX850V is the same engine just with some carburetor differences. You can easily mod the carb with parts from the 850V for about $50 to get a few more HP out of your 801V. Commercial grade is the way to go. So much more durable.
@@1RoadGarage so far no engine issues besides noisy valve train. Need to relash the valves. I bought my bobcat used and it had 500 hours on the meter but I'm thinking it actually has many more. Local dealer says most important thing is keep motor clean and regularly blow off the grass, if not can overheat the heads.
I live in North Carolina, and the only part that start rusting on my Hyundai was the left CV axle that I replace for a fail rubber boot. I wanted just replace the grease and the rubber the boot, but the shop convince me that just replaced with an after market one is better. They charge almost twice for replacing the rubber boot. Also, they took old axle and they gave me 80$ credit on the new aftermarket one. This isn't right. Now, I almost always bring the OEM parts to the shop instead buying after market parts. Even now, for common maintenance, I am bringing the OEM gaskets, oil, or parts.
Would return the axles you don't know what those axles went through and how long those caps were off and if those ABS Tone Rings have any slight damage it will throw ABS Codes / Problems and is it really worth it to you to have to do that job all over again when you put it together and then find problems
@@1RoadGarage It's up to you but like it goes the second you notice any problems coming from that area it's going to be in the back of your mind "I wonder if it's those axles" judging by the condition of those does it make you think "Hmm why are they now Unavailable" how do you get any replacements if you have a problem further down the road??? just a thought
If the caps were missing, there's no telling what kind of contamination got into the grease beforeyougot them. Water, dust, grit, literally anything could have found its way into the joint. Any grit will eat those joints alive and shorten the lifespan.
You should get your parts from Rock Auto. They have Timken wheel bearing hubs. They also have Mevotech is what I have used. The AC Delco from China are, well not so good. I also bought Cardon HD CV axles for my 2004 2500HD from Rock Auto and came in pristine condition. I also have a 95 C2500 Suburban with a Mevotech front end, Mevotech stuff is awesome.
Did you look st the z master 7500 d? You can search for videos here on other channels. With a 144" deck that bad boy will get your yard done in no time. Unfortunately, the cost is like buying a brand new truck.
This is two months ago but I would contact the seller, see about a substantial discount, then clean it up, make sure it's not damaged and regrease it for an install. What did you end up doing with them?
You need to keep in mind that remanufactured axles are stored in used boxes. Also sometimes they sit on store/warehouse shelves for years before anyone actually buys them. During which time they get pulled, moved, relocated and so on. That's why if you go to your local parts store they charge you the core fee plus a box fee. Some of these boxes are constantly used for years until they end up in the condition they arrived at your door. And as long as you don't see debris in the grease you should be fine to use them. But to be sure you can always repack new grease of your choice. But yeah these should have been at least in a plastic bag inside the box.
Thank goodness you didn't buy a Dixie Chopper. Those things are dangerous along canal banks and steep slopes. Toros are great mowers. We use them where I work, only we use 60" and 72" decks. Skags are great mowers too.
By the way, switch your cut direction every time you mow. That way you don't create ruts in your grass. For example, if you cut north and south one day, the next time you cut, cut east and west.
When I saw the video where you did all the yard work and told how long it took on the riding mower, I was like "Yeah he'll be buying a zero soon." 🤣 Been there!
Curse you Jimmy showing off the cool lawn toys! I'm now frantically trying to do the calculations to justify a similar purchase to mow my small urban front yard. Not sure if being able to do the job is less than two mins with that monster makes financial sense in my case, but the cool factor of driving that thing out of garage each weekend has its own reward. :) Oh, and send those parts back. There is no doubt they will have contamination/damage that you can't see. Don't take the chance on an early parts failure, especially if you are driving the '95 far from home or civilization on an overnight trip. Not worth the hassle with potentially damaged components. As always, great content my friend!
i've used those zero-turns when working as a grass cutter. they are awesome. i would rather sit on my butt and use the zero-turn rather than have to go around with a trimmer :P

Send them CV axles back I want to see your 95 done too but everything is buying online and shipping now these Companies shipping and Manufacturing are making billions from people sick of the shipping situation not sending them back they make money on that product even when you send it back so there's no reason for Quality anymore which our government should be taken care of but they ain't quality anymore anyways PS where's that Shop dog

Cut the band clamp around the boot, clean the greaase out of the joint, replace with new grease and a new band clamp.
Skip to 7 min if the mowers what you came for.
