Hi, I dont think you touched on player count, because it seems Hegemony really needs 4p, but I have to assume this plays well with 2p only because I assume that is how you played and since you did not complain about that... Is this right? Thanks!
i've only played it at 2p since i never play with anyone other than my wife, and i can say i don't feel like we're missing out. the game's simple system for emulating a 3rd and 4th player makes the game more strategic than it might otherwise be, so i think for our tastes it probably best at 2 :)
i would rather play it at 2 than 4, because the system has a very good automated mechanism to represent the 3rd and 4th player, making area control contests more interesting than they normally are in 2p, and also making the game overall more strategic and less tactical, which is our preference :)
I had my eyes set on Hegemony. I love the theme and my partner works on the topic. Now I'm wondering if I should wait for this one. Do you reckon they're compatible on the shelf or there's some redundancy and this World Order is an improved version of Hegemony?
well first of all i'd say this is the superior option for 2p gaming. 2p in hegemony is a much more complex beast. but gameplay-wise they're very different, with this being an area control deckbuilder and the other being an asymetric worker placement economy game. so it's definitely not the case that you'd say "oh, i already have one, i don't need the other".
Hegemony was my favorite game of the year when it released. I got eight plays in that year. How do feel like the replayability is for it? Are there multiple paths to victory for each faction?
this one isn't as asymetric as hegemony. everyone scores points the same way, and the different nations have different stats and starting cards that make them a bit unique, but not hugely so. but the strategies you follow will change game to game because of the deckbuilding opportunities that change from game to game :)
How does this compare to Twilight Struggle? Do you find it better? (I know you mention it in the video, but I have Twilight Struggle, so wondering if it is worth having both)
Thank you so much!

How did you find this game at 2 players? Did it feel compromised? Worried about the dreaded 'area majority' at 2 players.

@@rahdo Cool, thanks! I'll check both in more detail, but I think your review pretty much sold me on this one! :D
Will this book be available to get outside of kickstarter? looks interesting but can't find any reference to it.
someone on boardgamegeek said that you can read the book for hegemony online on the pub's website, so maybe they'll do the same for this game?

i think this game is much more mechanically interesting than TS, which is briliant too but more mean spiritied and only supports 2p :)
Everybody wants... Rahdo... to rule the world.
