I’ve always been under the impression that the HBG was best for spread and the LBG the best for pierce. You have absolutely destroyed that way of thinking. This is amazing! Thank you for the info! Edit: What is the layered armor? I need it. Edit: Nevermind, found it in the comments. Thanks again!
Yeah. I really like to use Pierce on the Shield HBG, mostly because of the range that I have with Pierce. I started with Spread HBG, the one from Garangolm, in Sunbreak, but when I tried Pierce I almost never used Spread with the HBG again. Thanks for watching.
Really nice build. i just ran across your video and did the build and it really improved the offensive numbers against the monsters by at least 15% if not 20%. my previous build with Devil's Conduit did not have blood lust and crit eye and did not have attack 7. i think the chain crit level 2 that i have also helps. i had been using Unsprung Mort with blood lust , attack 5 or 6 etc but not the chain crit or crit eye and while that build had better numbers than my Devil's Conduit build, your build still far outstrips those builds. i tend to be a more defensive payer ( i dont want to be that guy that carts frequently) and so i will give up some offense. but heck beyond shield, guard/guard up and embolden its time to bring the heat !. So thank you for the build!
It's good to hear that you like the build. I like to use the Shield HBG, and with the different TU it's getting better and better. Thanks for watching, and have fun using it.
The shield attachment is really overlooked compared to the Long Barrel.Especially since Diablos is a great meld farm and its attacks are predictable when using the HBG.I only wished they hadnt nerfed the Slicing ammo for tail severing...I cant seem to cut it now.
The Shield mod is great to use against Diablos, you don't need the chase the monster, you can hit the monster far away and there is no need to dodge when you get attacked. Diablos becomes a very easy monster with a Shield Pierce HBG. That's want I have experienced. Thanks for watching.
For a while there i did a LBG build with slice to cut the tail and then back to camp for either the pierce 2 RF build or use the HBG pierce 3/shield build. Too much trouble to do it , now i just hope to have a great sword or long sword person in the build to cut the tail if i needed it.
@@pdureska7814 Doing that regularly will become very annoying. I have a similar reason why is stopped using Elemental Shield Pierce HBG, because I needed to constantly restock in quests, so I made the scorned Shield HBG build, and now I don't need to restock. When you need a tail, LS and GS are popular, the chances that there will be a player that uses one are good.
Thanks for watching. The layered armor that I was wearing, is the helmet from Risen Teostra, and the other pieces, chest, arms, waist and legs are from the Guild Palace armor. The colors that I used where purple, with all the 5 pieces it's the first color slot, and black that with all the pieces is the second color slot. I made a layered armor video, the fashion that I wore, is the third set that I show in that video. In the layered armor video you can see the set also with red and black, around 1:17 you can see the purple and black set. Here you have the link. ua-cam.com/video/xPNPzAgcg7w/v-deo.html
The augmentation that I used to get more slots is the with the regular "Augment", I've kept on augmenting until I got the extra slots. Sometimes I got those extra slots fast, other times I used a lot of materials. I usually go for more slots, because I also use the armor pieces for different builds. Or I go for the "Augment Skill+" if I need a skill, that doesn't have a decoration or the decoration has a lot of slots, that it is better to get it with an Augment. I got Powder Mantle with "Augment Skill+", I was very lucky to get that skill, I got that very fast, and Powder Mantle is a skill that I like, so I kept it. Thanks for watching, I wish you luck with making the build and with other builds.
For me it is a preference thing, because of the range that I have when I use Pierce. I haven't tested Spread vs Pierce to see which one is better to use. I used both, with Spread I find that with monster that move a lot, I'm more chasing the monster around, especially in multiplayer. That's what I experienced. And with Pierce you stand at a longer distance, so you have a bit more time to react when the monster goes after you. I mostly use this build when I go on quest against monster like Diablos, Rathalos and Bazelgeuse. So the monsters can be the reason I like to use Pierce. Thanks for watching.
I hadn't actually noticed that, when I read your comment I watch it again, and saw that the monster, especially in the first half of the quest, was going after me, constantly. The monster was ignoring my Palicoes and followers I had on the quest. In multiplayer I had once a similar experience against a Bazelgeuse, using this build. I think that the monsters don't like me using it.
That is something that I can do, and with Defiance Lv2 the effect of strong roars are reduced when the monster is enraged. The reason I prefer to have Defiance Lv3 is because when the monster is enraged that it nullifies weak and strong roars, so I have an easy opening to attack when the enraged monster roars. Of course not all monsters have a strong roar, so for those monster is Defiance Lv2 enough to give an opening. I usually use this build when I go out and face big monsters like Diablos, Bazelgeuse, Rathalos. Your suggestion to have Defiance Lv2 is a good option to keep in mind. Thanks for watching and have a nice day.

Which augmentation did u do to get slots for the armour pieces? It seems so impossible to get

Is Pierce much better than spread for this type of build, or is it just a preference thing?
