An 8 Minute, 1 take, hardly edited video of the Highland Trouveres (only editing was the title slate, color fix, the music overlay, and a minor speed change at the very end). Directed and filmed by Ben Fisher and Bryton Nield. Made possible by our choir teacher Bret Scherer.

To everyone watching this in 2023 - this high school recently had a devastating fire destroying both the band room and the choir room. While we all remain highland strong - the community is heartbroken right now. This video serves as an incredible memory for us to remember the place we called home. Ram Power - You’ve said it all!

I really admire the director. Putting this together must have been horrible work. Congratulations to the camera guy(s) who were able to shoot almost 8 minutes really precisely and finally, the biggest respect to the choreographer. The coordination was AMAZING.

I’ve loved this ever since it came out years ago. What makes it so good is a combination of a great mix track, careful planning of parts and routes throughout the school building, the coordination of all the performers to get to their next mark, and the little elements like random students forming little living tableaus in the periphery of the scenes. There is not a dull moment in this, and aside from the briefest moment of bad lighting as they have to transition through a poorly lit outdoor space, it is just about as perfect as they could ever hope for. I wonder how much time and rehearsal went into the plan, and how many takes they had to do before they got this one.

This is the best high school mash-up video I have seen yet! I am amazed that every aspect was so well thought out. Everyone has a specific role in whatever shot they are in. The lip synching is pretty on point. No one looks like they just started rehearsing the day before the taping. Bravo to whoever came up with the idea. I hope you are going to become a teacher because you certainly know how to get young people behind you and engaged. And, yeah, to agree with Kat Lynn, You guys do have that 90210 thing going.

I've seen a lot of these, and I have to say, no one compares to this. The mix is amazing, and the choreography is great as well. Props to all. But seriously, who ever edited the music should really go places.

I agree with Nicolas. I've looked at a lot of Lip Dubs. This school beats everyone - mash up, choreography, dubbing, authenticity. Closest I've seen was Punahoe (graduation), McKinney high and UMAQ in Montreal. But none had this level of complexity. Well done!

I watched this within the same year it came out. Now coming back upon the first view I found it weird and I couldn't pinpoint the reason it went into the uncanny valley, but it was probably because music in 2015 has gone in a different direction. I am glad this still exists to remind us what the good music was.
