Stamford - yay! What a great town! I'm glad you did this video. I lived in Peterborough, but worked in Stamford, always loved it. 35 years on I remember Stamford as being bright and light, even in the gloom of winter. Maybe that's because it's built largely from the whitish stone that you talk about. Does anyone recall playing in the 'Hills and Hollows' in Barnack? That's where the stone was excavated to build Stamford. Burghley House, too, I believe. I can't wait to visit again. If anyone goes, try to be there on a Wednesday for the market, which sets up all along Broad St. Such fun, and lots of bargains! Thank you so much, Jay, for doing this video.
My home town much admired by my friends. First Conservation Area in the UK and the town football club tops the Northern Premier Midlands Division at the moment. Few cyclists compared to the 1940s and 1950s when everyone rode a bike. You can see why = too many cars. Best day to visit is Friday when the street market is held - one of the best in the UK. You can still get there by train.

Is your bike an electric one? No preconceptions here, even though I think it defeats the purpose. But I was curious just because of the constant hissing one hears when you're moving.
Yes it's electric mate. My dad has been in the electric bike industry for like 20 years and so I've grown up around electric bikes. I would hear people saying the same things to my dad like 10 years ago and they all have electric bikes now. Electric bikes have changed my life...and I'm only 28 haha. I'll make a video on this because there are a lot of misconceptions about electric bikes. Thanks for the idea :)
@@CycleWithJay I'm not against electric bikes at all. I think that environmentaly speaking they're an unnecessary burden on the environment. But for my 'getting fitter' purpose, an eletric bike would defeat the purpose.
@@Karelja You mean they are good for the environment? An electric bike is great for exercise. You can control your level of assistance so you have control over how much effort you want to put in. I don't use my car very much because I can go very far on my electric bike and not be absolutely shattered. I think for the average person they will do more exercise with an electric bike because they will cycle more frequently.
