Awesome scenery in Torridon as always even on a duller day. I see the trail from the top of Coire Lair hasn't improved much. I last rode there in 2020 and it was basically the same dry river bed, really sketchy. The slight detour onto those rock slabs looked excellent fun - I'll need to remember to do that. Well done getting round that tight, techie switchback 👏 I always come a cropper there. For me the easiest way to do the Achnashellach descent is to go over the Coulin Pass (good vehicle track) and up Drochaid Coire Lair (singletrack). Didn't take too long as I recall, certainly nowhere near as long as the "Lollipop" and you don't need to do that b*****d of a hike-a-bike out of Coire Grannda.
Absolutely top video Neil. There was some tough riding conditions in there and as usual you made it look easy. That is a beautiful remote part of Scotland. Top entertainment. Cheers. Stoozer. 🤠
If you are on a normal bike (non electric then I would probably just push up the Achnashellach descent itself mate its the quickest way up but if you have an E bike then I would do it the same way I did it in this video ua-cam.com/video/mZIzTldDqqY/v-deo.html
Hi mate. I’m thinking of heading to torridon to ride this, it’s a good5 hours travel for me. Is it worth the trip for the achnashellach descent or is there other good stuff to ride. Thanks
Yea the Achnashellach is the best of the lot in my opinion. If you are not adamant about doing it as a loop the best way to do it is push/hike up it and come straight back down (unless you are on an ebike). The annat descent is also very good
That trail looked great ,it's now on my list
Cheers 👍
Great VLOG looks a great trail too. Its on my trails to do list 👊
Definitely one worth doing for sure 👌

So which way would you recommend doing this route? How would you do it if you could come here just once?
