if a mechanical component have a tough gasket and it refuses to be removed what type of hammer is suppose to be used? (it should just bugger off, there's no dowel pin or a guide that holds it in place)
Glue and patience. Let it dry in place. If there are screw holes like in a valve cover gasket, then you can use bic pen caps and insert them after gluing to keep aligned till cured. The caps are tapered which makes the perfect alignment hold. So when it comes time to put the screw it on the gasket won’t move at all. 😊
You didn't say what kind of gasket, or are you joking that you want to hit it ? 😂 If serious though, most people have a valve cover gasket start leaking and get on hot exhaust and make smoke, or a lot of smoke. A gasket scraper tool would work on some gaskets, especially cork. Be Careful ! You do not want to damage the surface of metal the gasket will be sitting on, so the lowest angle possible for scrapping. A wire wheel to get the rest so you don't remove any metal at all. A dead blow hammer and gently start tapping the gasket will make it easier. Be patient. You need it clean, as glues are used of different types, and some don't think future, and put permanent glue types, and in that case time and parience is key, and doesn't have to be done all at once. Breaks are necessary as holding yourself up can be tiring, and people tend to rush when tired. 😊
