    Filmed December 11th 2023. I had not posted this video until now as it was a weird day for me and reliving it in video is difficult. I mentioned in a past video about how a lunatic tried to run me off the road and was following me for 5 miles continuing to try to run me off the road - well that incident was on the way to film this video, then when I started filming my batteries started dying quickly on all my equipment as if my own stressful energy was draining them.
    The stress of the event is what I believe kicked off an immune response that then lead me to be hospitalized and having a 100+ degree fever for over a month. I was carrying Epstein Barr virus as well as Bartonella Henselae (Cat Scratch Fever) simultaneously - so having multiple illnesses, being immunocompromised along with the extra stress, made my immune system go haywire. I was sick for about 6 weeks recovering, lost 20 lbs and it wasn't until late January before I regained my health and strength. So while this test is pretty lame due to it being cheap .22 WMR and .380 ACP ammo, it reminds me of the end of 2023 which wasn't great!

      Sam, that's terrible. It's enough stress to make you sick. It's good to hear that you're on the upswing. Good job keeping your head and not trying to shoot the guy. Then you would reeaally be stressed. Take care.

    Very interesting video! Glad you recovered from the "incident" Thanks for the video! This is an interesting topic that seniors may be interested in because of the recoil of other calibers like 9mm and 38SPL. I would love to see a comparison between the 22Magnum and the 38 SPL Short from Magtech, but I think you already said in another comment that you no longer have that 38 ammo. Thanks again for the video!!

    With newer 380’s going back to longer barrels in conjunction with 12+ round magazines you can accurately place more 380 than 22 magnum bullets.

    Hey Sam, I ordered Buffalo Bore 125g Tactical Low-Recoil Short Barrel 357. Mag Ammo not knowingly realizing it wasn't heavy 125g. I'm thinking about returning that and going with heavy 158g. It is worth the hassle and effort to convert considering this would be SD ammo being shot out of a 4.2" barrel.

    DDR recently posted some budget defense Fiocchi 38 Spl that did pretty well too. The nice thing about budget ammo is you can practice with it. At least it's a nice thing if it performs well enough.

    Isn't the .22WMR cartridge primarily a rifle cartridge? To obtain full potential a longer barrel might be needed.

    • @GunSam
      @GunSam  5 місяців тому +1

      It was designed to be a rifle cartridge but the first firearm in .22 WMR was a revolver.

    Hey Sam off topic question. Some of the 357 mag like federal hydro shock doesn't seem to expand from 2in barrels. Do you think 3in barrels will expand those and majority of others? Thanks

    • @GunSam
      @GunSam  5 місяців тому

      I haven't gel tested it, but I have tested in other methods the Hydrashok .357 Mag in a 2" and it did fine. There's no reason why it wouldn't or shouldn't expand from a 2" barrel.

    • @FoulPet
      @FoulPet 5 місяців тому

      @ZeroXSEED it's not something I would choose, but the reason someone might choose 32 over 22 is centerfire cartridges are way more reliable. Both in ignition and feeding. I eventually decided not to carry anything less than 9mm. With today's micros, there isn't any reason an "average" person should carry anything else. I can conceal a full-size pistol with minor effort and a micro with almost no effort. If you're not concerned about capacity, I have a 5 shot 357 mag revolver that easily drops in a pocket.
      There is a long but well done video by Paul Harrell on 22 reliability.

    The old .22 WRM is better than .38 Special, goes back to the ancient days of the 1960s. A comparison would be a .22 Magnum Hollow Point, Rifle Ammo, not modern pistol ammo verses .38 Special LRN both out of 2" barrels.
