Yes, that is the spirit of Christianity! As Paul said that while all things may be permissible, they may not be beneficial to the purposes of God! And he further added to even avoid being associated with the destructive and ungodly habits of the world, in speech and deed. Yes, if one is truly led by the Spirit of God as Jesus was, it would never, ever lead them to drink or drugs, or even tattooing their body, immodest clothing, gambling, scratch off tickets, listening to pop music, watching the world's filthy godless movies, TV, etc...
THEN PEOPLE WOULD ARGUE, WHAT CAN WE DO????HOW ARE WE SUPPOSED TO HAVE FUN??? - OF COURSE, THE ANSWER TO THAT IS WHAT PEOPLE WILL BE DOING IN HEAVEN FOR ALL OF ETERNITY INSTEAD OF INDULGING IN THE SIN-NATURE DESTRUCTIVE EVIL THEY INDULGE IN HERE ON EARTH!

Anyone who argues against Christians drinking alcohol is going to have a hard time squaring that belief with the fact that Christ Himself drunk wine on occasion(Luk. 7:34) and He commanded Christians to drink wine as part of the new Passover ceremony(Matt. 26:27-29). Seems pretty strange that nobody in the Bible preached against drinking alcohol at all if that was supposed to be something Christians were to stay away from.

@@phil-goodthat's a good point, cultures where vine is treated like as you mentioned, knows how to handle it ( I would compare it a bit to peace pipe ceremonies with tobacco for indigenous people of America), but cultures which are not "design" for it, better to avoid, specially, if family trends are negative, cough medicine and other natural syrop contain alcohol and is good for cold and soar throat, but even this might be abused by tortured soul ( tormented or oppressed), I don't think anyone gets to drinking excessively or taking drugs same way, if their life is really in balance and they know Lord first hand, it's always product of some unresolved problems, in our culture we tend to have too much pressure to achieve materially, and it's getting harder, we are isolated in society and this all brings many ways bad habits can develop as cry for help....if would be more real churches ( cause for sure there's some minorities) ppl would in those communities help each other, but unfortunately is more about prestige, wealth, showing off then real services for brethren....why not talk about this too???

My husband was a pediatrician. There were few cases of child abuse that were not alcholhol rrelated. Many can " hold" the stuff until they can't. And mess up their lives. But prohibiting its use as in prohibition just cemented organized crimes hold on this country. It is a nasty problem.

I am a Christian. Abused alcohol for years. I kept praying to Jesus to help me stop when I'd wake up in the middle of the night with the shakes and a pounding heart, promising Him I would stop if He would just get me thru the night! Of course I didn't keep that promise and continued to drink. The evening of May 15, 2023, I had drank so much over the course of a week that I had an alcohol withdrawal seizure. I spent 3 1/2 days in the hospital. Having that seizure was the scariest thing I've ever been thru. I believe that God taught me a lesson and gave me a second chance! I will NEVER touch another drop of alcohol - I don't even crave it or think about it anymore! Praise Jesus! ❤🙏

A blessing of wine was prophesied as a heritage to the chosen people in Genesis 27:28: “May God give you heaven’s dew and earth’s richness - an abundance of grain and new wine [tirosh].” The Hebrew word tirosh, meaning “new wine,” is used in 38 places in the Old Testament. People sometimes conclude that this word means grape juice, or fresh-pressed juice of the vine. However, Hosea 4:11 states: “Old wine [yayin] and new wine [tirosh] take away their understanding.” Grape juice could not have this effect. Tirosh is an intoxicating wine if used in excess.
However, Jesus Christ did drink oinos (wine) (Matthew 11:19; Luke 7:34). Jesus did not preach against the use of wine; instead he did like most other Jews of his day. He drank wine in moderation. In ancient times it was normally diluted with water for drinking, and was one of the principal beverages at that time
(1 Timothy 3:3, 8, Titus 1:7). If a minister drinks, it should be in moderation
Matt. 26:27,29; Mark 14:23,25; Luke 22:17-18; 1 Cor. 11:25-27 - Jesus instituted the Eucharist using wine and commanded us to "do this in remembrance of me." We know that Jesus instituted the Eucharist at the Jewish seder meal, which required the use of wine. Yet some Protestant churches forbid drinking wine. Such a prohibition is not based on the Scriptures.
Luke 7:33-34 - God the Son drank wine and was accused of being a drunk. Are those Protestant churches that forbid the drinking of wine doing the same?
John 2:1-11 - Jesus' first miracle was turning water into wine which was drunk at the wedding at Cana. Wine is a symbol of the life of the Church, in both the Eucharist and, here, the sanctification of the sacrament of marriage. Verse 10 also indicates that the people drank enough wine at the feast to the point that they might not have recognized good wine from bad wine. Yet Jesus creates for them more wine to drink.
1 Tim. 5:23 - Paul tells Timothy to drink not just water, but a little wine for the sake of his stomach and frequent ailments. If Paul under divine inspiration encourages the drinking of wine, why do some Protestant churches prohibit it?
Gen. 14:18 - Melchizedek offers a bread and wine sacrifice, and Jesus is the Priest in the same manner. Heb. 5:6,10; 6:20; 7:15,17.
Gen. 27:25 - Isaac brought Jacob wine, and he drank, with God's favor.
Neh. 8:10 - Nehemiah commands the faithful to drink sweet wine to celebrate the Lord and His holy day.
Psalm 104:15 - the Psalmist writes that "wine gladdens the heart of a man." God gave us the fruit of the vine to enjoy.
Ecclesiastes 9:7 - "drink your wine with a merry heart, for God approves what you do."
Wisdom 2:7 - "Let us take our fill of costly wine and perfumes!"
Sir. 31:25-28 - "Wine is like life if drunk in moderation." God created wine to make us glad, so we rejoice in heart, and have gladness of soul.
Sir. 40:20 - "Wine gladdens the heart."
Isaiah 25:6 - God will provide a feast of rich foods and choice wines.
Amos 9:14 - God declares that His people shall plant their vineyards and drink their wine.
Zech. 10:7 - God says that when He saves His people, their hearts shall be glad as with wine.
2 Mac. 15:39 - this verse also describes the pleasure of drinking wine. The point is that all God made is good, and we are called to enjoy His good gifts, including drinking wine, as long as we do so in moderation. And while we drink in moderation, the miracle that Jesus performed at the wedding feast at Cana suggests that we can have a second glass!😊😊

The bible clearly states drunkards will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Well, there is Psalm 104.
I have never been drunk, but I do enjoy a nip of liquor from time to time. It's a special thing usually a gift that I savour till it's gone. Then nothing again, till there is another gift, so that is like 2 bottles a year, birthday or Christmas, so I want it to last a while. I understand some folk have a problem with alcohol, so I tend to not drink in company. But I do savour every sip & thank God for the beautiful taste in much the same way as I appreciate a wonderful dessert. I'm a retiree now & it's been this way for me my whole adult life. Sure, I could just go buy any number of bottles, but then it wouldn't be a special gift.
I guess that nobody who has had an experience with alcoholism is going to believe this, but that's their problem really.

I do not get drunk, I hate that. I do not drink hard liquor, or (like The Lord) wine either, (but that is the Lord's good choice and taste). So in answer to your question for those that have a small amount of something because the flavor gives them joy, it’s the same as someone who drinks a coca Cola because they love the taste(and Coca Cola is full of junk…very unhealthy)I don’t drink liquor because I think it’s disgusting. And if the way is too long for you, so that you are not able to carry the tithe, when the LORD your God blesses you, because the place is too far from you, which the LORD your God chooses, to set his name there, 25then you shall turn it into money and bind up the money in your hand and go to the place that the LORD your God chooses 26and spend the money for whatever you desire-oxen or sheep or wine or strong drink, whatever your appetite craves. And you shall eat there before the LORD your God and rejoice, you and your household. 27And you shall not neglect the Levite who is within your towns, for he has no portion or inheritance with you.

Alcoholics metabolism is different. I went to children's aaa as a child and married into a family that included alcohol as an important ingredient in their diet. There is a difference between habitual drinkers and addicts.

The problem with alcohol, is the same problem with medication. Chemicals. One person maybe able to drink responsible and the alcohol kind of helps balance out their chemical balance so that they stay on even balance. I can't drink alcohol makes me sick, medications almost killed me, but I have been smoking marijuana since I was twelve go back through my life other than getting in trouble for having a joint on me two different times the only trouble I have gotten into is when I went a while without smoking. First John 1:8. If we say we have no sin, we are deceived, and the TRUTH is not in us. One lie would be enough to send us to hell forever. But, the good news. Romans 6;23 For the penalty for sin is death, BUT, the GIFT of God is eternal life, through Jesus finished work on the cross. Jesus paid the debt of sin we owe God and set us free. John 3:18. Believers can no longer be condemned, but unbelievers are condemned already, because they have not believed on the name of the Son of God.
First John 2:2 And He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but for the sins of the whole world. So, all we have to do is accept the free gift to be saved forever. Romans 1:16. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, (First Corinthians 15:1-4) For it is the POWER of God unto salvation to everyone that BELIEVETH, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Deuteronomy 14:26. Go and buy what ever thy soul desireth, wine or strong drink.
Colossians 2:16. Let no man therefore judge you in food, or in drink, or the respect of a feast day, or of a new moon, or a sabbath day.
Second Corinthians 5:21 For He who knew no sin, Jesus, became sin for us, so that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.
Romans 4:5-8 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on Him who justifieth the UNGODLY, his faith is counted for His righteousness. Without His perfect righteousness, no one will see God.
Just as David describeth the blessedness of the man to whom the Lord imputeth righteousness, APART FROM WORKS. Blessed is the man whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. He paid our sin debt in full so we can never be condemned again.
Romans 3:26-28. For He is the just and the justifier of them that BELIEVE in Jesus. Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? By the law of works? Nay, but by the law of FAITH. Therefore, we conclude a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law. For by the deeds of the law shall no flesh be justified.
Matthew 7:21-23. There will be no boasting in heaven. Only those who have done the will of His Father are justified. John 6:40. And this is the will of Him who sent me, that ALL that seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life, and I WILL RAISE HIM UP ON THE LAST DAY. John 6:29. Jesus, answered, and said unto them, this is the work of God, that ye believe on the one He has sent.
First John 5:13. These things have I written unto you that BELIEVE on the name of the Son of God, that ye may KNOW YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. John 5:24. John 6:47. John 3:18.

22:38... No sir, I disagree with this. Everything else u said, backed with verses, I agree to/with, however, this portion, no, here's why (backed by verse). I have a KJV bible. Since God always stays the same, I stick with this. Not saying ur bible is lying, but rather, it's giving another truth that this version didn't point out. Urs says something about a wierd fire or perverted fire or sumthing? But then later speaks of the wine/drunkness, to which my bible also oncludes. However, mine specifically says ( Leviticus 10:01) those two sons put a strange incense to burn in the fire, which God commanded them not too, therefore becasue of that, he killed them wby consuming them in the fire. Their bodies were carried out later, so there was something physical left, however, they were killed by the fire for burning strange (whatever they made their incense out of) stuff which God commanded them not to.
And just s side note, it's interesting how God has things for us that when we're doing them or focused on him and doing them in his name, it's actually encouraged. If u take him out of the picture, then it goes wrong/astray, to sin. Duetoronomy 14:26 (read the whole chapter to get the just and history of it all though) is proof of that, the only verse in the bible so far where God actually encourages his people to get uh, yeah, drunk lol, albeit, in HIS name. He says to get it, consume and rejoice. Perhaps that was only to be for that one time, or if more, to keep our mind on him and praise him during ur process but, yeah, I'd like to get ur opinion on that chapter and specifically that verse, if u don't mind.

As I put out in other comment here, this teachings doesn't touch the essence of the problems, here's only talking about "rich ppls problems", but avoid sickness of our culture where is very strong emphasis on high achieving of material goods and real services for fellow human beings is lost, unfortunately even in churches, cause if not, it wouldn't be so much inequality... very rich can seat with very poor in same churches and never extend the help ( which is clearly required in the Bible...), Often lack of human connection causes ppl to get into excessive, compulsive behaviours ( so not just alcohol, but all sorts of habitual behaviours which are not good for body and soul) ppl feel isolated even in churches, cause they're not encourage to be vulnerable and share their problems, might be quite opposite and they know, they might be discouraged to have any problems, so that's has to be addressed, we all are not build the same and our savior knew it, therefore is lots of emphasis on helping the weak and poor, but who from attending this sermon or watching this video put their own wellbeing secondary to brother or sister in need?????? And not only some pet talk, but really what gospel teach us- give your last shirt from your back and house ppl in need ??? I bet it's far less than it should be in communities of belivers....

Paul recommended not to even involve yourself with the same habits as the heathen - tattoos, piercings, etc. because the genesis of those things and the desire for heathens to have them comes ultimately from the evil rebel spirit against God. This why virtually all criminals in or out of prison have them, also smoke and drink.

It's important to be honest with ourselves and with God, as He knows what's in our hearts. Ask yourself if you're drinking a glass of wine for its taste or because you want to be "humorous". Only you and God know the true reason behind your actions. Additionally, consider this scenario: you're out in public and enjoying a drink, even just one sip, when you notice someone struggling. From afar, you look to this person like you belong in this world. Remember that people are constantly observing us and we should strive to be a light, salt, and children of God. s important to pray and seek guidance from the Holy Spirit in making these decisions. Remember to reflect on your intentions and may God bless you.

14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. *So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin*
This applies to all Christians.. we are not in sin we are in Christ... Regardless of the infirmities of our flesh.. which we all have in some form or another. No flesh is justified before God.
