- Planet Zoo: Console Edition releases on the 26th March for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, along with a Deluxe Edition and Ultimate Edition. Pre-order now and get three exclusive animals at launch - the Thomson's Gazelle, Pygmy Hippopotamus and Komodo Dragon.
Planet Zoo: Console Edition will launch complete with over 4 years’ worth of improvements, 15 free feature updates and numerous quality-of-life improvements from the PC edition. Free Update 16 and the 3rd Anniversary Animal will also be coming to Console Edition at a later date. 14 DLCs from the PC version will be coming to Planet Zoo: Console Edition after launch, containing over 80 different animal species, 15 campaign scenarios, and over 2,000 additional scenery pieces.
What are the differences between Planet Zoo: Console Edition and the PC release?
Planet Zoo: Console Edition has been designed to deliver an authentic Planet Zoo experience, with intuitive gamepad controls and powerful creative features all from the comfort of your sofa.
To bring the ultimate zoo simulator to console, we have revisited the user experience to create a gamepad accessible experience from the ground up. If you still prefer mouse and keyboard, Planet Zoo: Console Edition will also be launching with mouse and keyword support on console.
To ensure smooth performance as your zoos grow, Planet Zoo: Console Edition features a Zoo Complexity Meter. This meter increases as you expand and add to your dream zoo, below is an example of a detailed zoo at 21% on the Zoo Complexity Meter.
Will Planet Zoo: Console Edition have a workshop for sharing creations?
Yes. Planet Zoo: Console Edition will feature the Frontier Workshop which allows players to share zoos and blueprints with the rest of the Planet Zoo console community. The Frontier Workshop will feature console cross-platform support, allowing PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players to share their creations with one another.
Will the Animal Market be cross-platform in Planet Zoo: Console Edition?
No. Trading through the Animal Market will only be possible with other players on the same console platform e.g. PlayStation 5 to PlayStation 5. However, you'll be able to share and download blueprints with other players across console platforms using the Frontier Workshop.
Is Planet Zoo: Console Edition multiplayer?
No. As with the PC edition, Planet Zoo: Console Edition will not feature multiplayer gameplay. However, Planet Zoo: Console Edition does feature a number of ways to engage with the rest of the Planet Zoo community, including trading animals in Franchise Mode and sharing creations in the Frontier Workshop.

Great announcement and cool video man. Brief and on point! I do have a PS5, will this be like JWE that you need to play thru the campaign to unlock stuff/ animals? Or once you get the game you have all the stuff for sandbox right away? Because I have been wanting to play this since it came out but my laptop isn't powerful enough. This console announcement is just right by me, I hope. 😅

I went on my ps5 to try pre order planet zoo and I could only get deluxe edition does that mean all the dlc animals are already on there or not

It would be fun to collaborate on zoos together but it can be done by sending each other blueprints of the zoo. I did that with Pamoja Wildlife Park.

Sorry but according to my info it is only PS5. To be honest it’s far too complex for a PS4 to run
Ps5 is not that pricy to get so it is quite easy to get a ps5.

Tip 1: Act nicely and do whatever your parents say so they like you and make you there fav child
Tip 2: Tell them that you’re waiting for years and say I will never buy anything after I buy PS5 and planet zoo
Tip 3: Dont tell anyone and order a ps5 and then you’re parents will get a email and they will just scream at you for 30 minutes and that’s sit!
I thought PlayStation hated mods which is why Skyrim/Fallout etc is so limited, I wonder if all mods will be available
I doubt mods will be, just workshop blueprints
Yes Sony does hate mods but these aren’t really ‘mods’ they are blueprints made in the game basically
