Yeah, why she thought that the other lady was gonna have to pay her the amount of the rent that she was gonna have to pay to the realty company is beyond me

Very short term notice?? She had over 3 months. Ms. McCormick moved out September 19th, paid the entire $1250 fee to terminate the lease and paid rent through December, which allowed Ms. Tennison to remain there. Otherwise, she would have had to vacate much sooner. It didn't work out. Yes, it stinks to move, fork over a deposit, 1st and last months rent, etc., but apparantly Ms. Tennison thought they'd be living there forever. $10,000?? 🤬 It's nonsense like this that's tying up our courts so REAL victims are left waiting years for their justice. Two Karen's?!!
    Where?
    Duh.
Calling them that is juvenile. And a tad creepy.
    IMHO.

You know you’re a Karen when the only friend or family loan you can get has interest on it. Eeek

Sounds like the “large financial consequences” are a you problem….

People always want to sue for the maximum amount in small claims. They've been conditioned by news stories of big settlements to think there is going to be a big payoff. She just wanted to get even and punish the other party.
It seems like a bit of a tricky situation. Ms. McCormick should not have made that offer to pay until the end of the lease. Her offer to Ms. Tennison seems reasonable. I'm sure it was financially tough for both of them.
Why characterize them both as Karens? Ms. McCormick was respectful and reserved through the whole process.

Breakups suck. Just be glad it's over.

Sounds like Ms. Tennyson is looking for revenge because Ms. McCormack wants to move on. Yeah - you are right - break ups do suck but life can suck sometimes. Ms. Tennyson is now going to have to figure out how to collect her judgement on Ms. McCormack and potentially also come up with her share of the rent on the place that went vacant when they both left.

Don't get me wrong, I hate the private landlord housing situation as much as anyone, but why would Tennison believe that McCormick is liable for rent at Tennison's new place?? I know it sucks, but surely you know that it's possible that your co-tenant could break the lease, and that doing so is one of the risks of cohabitation? Housing costs are fucking awful but this isn't McCormick's fault...

Karens, not Karen's. You would use Karen's if you're talking about something that belongs to Karen. For instance, "Karen's recent encounter with the general manager was loud and horrible." Since the "recent encounter" belongs to Karen--it is hers--you would use Karen's. However, in this case you are saying two Karens, plural. Do not use the apostrophe in this case. Do not trust the little red and green squiggles, or the autocorrect, to be correct. In this way you may avert any further apostrophe catastrophes.
