Tech just told us about this unit takes Micro Sim Cards not over 32gigs...goes in the upper right hand corner on the back. You can track where you go in real time on those cards.
Hi Matthew, the DST810 will provide depth as number only to the Garmin GPSMAP 1243xsv. You won't have bottom profile or fish finding capability without a compatible transducer plugged in the 1243xsv,
Just ordered a 1243xsv. Also a 743 xsv to run next to it. Unfortunately won’t get to use it until may.
Both are really popular displays from Garmin.
No transducer with it?
Great review. Does anyone know difference between the 1242 and 1243. Thx.
Very helpful. It would be interesting to see a similar presentation for the equivalent Raymarine Axiom product.
Yep, will feature all the products we recommend, stay tune.
Go to Raymarine UA-cam channel...they just did an excellent hour long presentation on their Axiom line.
I'm curious about the different brands of MFDs. Why would a person choose Garmin over Simrad or Raymarine, or others.
Hi Mark, good suggestion for a future video.
Does it output wifi or Bluetooth to an iPad
Yep, built-in Wi-Fi for connectivity between smart devices and the chartplotter.

A 32 GB memory card will offer lots data storage for tracking history.
Connecting it to a fuse box, what size fuse recommended?
The Garmin manual should state exactly what size fuse they want for the chartplotter, we always refer to the manufacturers recommendation.
I have a Garmin wind package, will these get sonar info from my Airmar DST810 connected in my NMEA network?
