Given the Ukrainian Hryvnia's hyperinflation following Euromaidan, the rise in token prices from UAH 1.70 to UAH 2.00 is justifiable. Besides, 2 grivna is barely even 8 US cents.
Among St. Petersburg, Moscow, Minsk and Kiev, I have to say Kiev is the most crowded metro system. The increase from UAH 1.70 to 2.00 did not make any difference. I think a token might cost more than 2 hryvnia by now.
Well, they will cost UAH 3 or more starting from February but I don't believe it will make a big difference, too. It'll still be the cheapest and the most convenient transport.
Right bank of Kiev has an uneven terrain. Besides, it's much higher then the left one. That's why different stations lie on different levels. Some are on the ground level. This one particular is comparatively deep underground though not the deepest one. And the escalator moves rather slowly, I guess.
I miss when a token was only UAH 1.70. I was there from 9th to 13th October 2009, did not need a visitor visa. Kiev had the best ads on the escalator lights.
Indeed, I'm not.
I just love Finland, Finnish language and everything that's close to Finland :D
@ 10:03 That's really nice.
Yup, the lovely russian metro trains of the ex-soviet blocks

Nice!! Are there elevators at the stations there?
No. That's one of the things of the past: in the Soviet Union the authorities were not that considerate.
The one at the beginning is the deepest railway station on earth, Arsenal'naya
How many meters / kilometers you traveled from the first to the second station?
It's my background!
You are finnish?
Nö, ich bin Deutsch.
