I saw this show at Coachella that year, the band were given a tiny stage in a crap little tent, they unloaded in sweat-drenching heat and i could feel how pissed they all were to be shafted by the festival while whatever mediocrity played on the main stage, still - they absolutely ROCKED it! Brilliant musicians and true professionals
In 2009 I saw them at V-Fest in Toronto and the promoters messed up and after a bunch of delays they come on, play 3 songs, and were told they had to leave the stage.
This kinda reminds me of when I saw them live, at Riverfest in... 2012? 2013? They were phenomenal on-stage despite the fact that they were there billed to essentially open for Chevelle. It was... an experience. Governenment Mule, then Mutemath, then Chevelle, the supposed 'headliners,' then Third Eye Blind. Of the four, Chevelle was EASILY the worst of the lot, and completely disengaged from the audience, while both Mutemath and 3EB played their hearts out, engaged, and really made it feel like they were there for the people watching them and not just the paycheck.
My single biggest regret in life is never getting to see Mutemath live. I truly hope they can get back together for some sort of reunion tour eventually. This is as close as it gets for now! Thank you Paul, Darren, Roy, and Greg!!
Me and my wife took our kids to see them when they rolled into our town. Their first all ages show. My youngest ended up doing his 5th grade project on his favorite drummer and band MUTEMATH! And he aced it of course. sadly Darren had already left but Hutch aint nothin to sneeze at either. He obsessed over playdead for months
Sorry to disappoint but the band broke up a little while ago. Darren King left prior to their most recent tour and then shortly after Paul announced the end of the band.
Mutemath is a band I can rediscover. I'll move away from their stuff then see a reminder like this then go on a bender of their stuff all over like it's all new.
I was at this show, stage left, balcony level. I didn’t know it was being recorded until I saw the EP come out later. Truly one for the best live performances I’ve personally witnessed.
I was also at this exact show, except I was on the right balcony, where Darren was. I flew in from Australia, just couldn’t wait for the Aussie Tour lol. Absolute legends and truly miss them
This tour was just amazing -- the Detroit show was maybe the best show I have ever attended. I felt horrible for Paul; his voice was hurting so hard. He got thru it, amazingly.
Paul we love you. We love that you're sharing this gold during a very quarantine-y kinda time. From Boston, be safe - be well - be the sonic god you are.
Man i love theses guys. I remember listening to them when they first debuted on that competition show on mtv. I knew they were gonna be big. Cant believe im still rocking out to theses guys. Every album is a banger.
Man went to this concert series in Kansas City, so good. My north Topeka brother in law had a soul break thru and was jamming in bear with it.. if MuteMath can do that to Norf Topeka, it can change the world..
Thank you!! I absolutely love your music!! ♥️🎶..And I have to say, your song “Reset”, is very much about the times we are going through right now!! The planet is experiencing an ENERGETIC RESET!!! Time to change the planet, folks!! 🌎
I saw these guys live once or twice back in the early days, and from the first time I saw them live I knew they would be a legendary live band. Man, this video is so good!
There are concerts.... Then there is seeing Mutemath live. For anyone who missed out on seeing them live with DK at the helm... The greatest gift Paul and the gang have given us is the quality live recordings they have like this one. Gives you an idea of the visual and sonic experience... Seriously... These guys... Will go down as one of the greatest bands ever that most never heard of. Rock on Paul, there is still time to let the world know.
I almost forgot how great this band is! Or was? I didn't know they broke up. Used to listen to them all the time for years. Saw them live once in Baltimore. I have a feeling they may come back together again as a band or reunion!
The drummer broke his Bassdrum in the first song the last time I saw them in Germany! They made a stand up comedy fun medley until it was fixed. So professional and cool! I looooooove Mute Math!
Thank you for posting this! Please post the whole thing!!! I miss your music like a brother. Hope you are all staying safe during these stressful times!
SO good! I can’t express how sad I am that I never got to see Mutemath live. That said, I’m thankful for every morsel or content that’s released. Kee ‘em coming!
"Quarantine" I’m undecided if kidding or not Under the smiling, you never know Fall in a line if you’re standing around Let the harvester carve your soul Blind eyes still rely on a sign anywhere they go Let it heal someone, heal someone Who really needs to understand what they know If they know it well Say all you can to convince yourself If it’s real than it’s hard to tell Fly high to paralyze any karma you left below Let it heal someone, heal someone In my mind, I can hear the river Wondering why, the sound is getting thinner It’s no use to pretend you’re not We’re all fish out of water Believe it Love is keeping everyone liable Slow down the spiral now It’s no use to pretend you’re not We’re all fish out of water Didn’t you know Should we by now Can’t ever let the children out Can’t ever let the children out of your sight There you heart rate goes again No one knows what’s happening Can’t ever let the children out Can’t ever let the children out of your sight
My best concert experience was at a Mutemath show. I had gotten there way early, got through the doors close to first, ended up at the barrier, but this girl came running in from the back and was trying to muscle her way in front of me the whole show. I kept my spot. A couple songs in, Paul drops his mic stand RIGHT on me. I wasn't rattled. when he got down off the stage a couple songs later, Pushy Girl really wanted a high five. But Paul was down in our section just for me, came over and gave me a big sweaty hug, then ran away to one of the sides 😂
I've gotten pretty good tone out of trashed cymbals, you just gotta rip the excess cracked bits neatly with pliers so there's not any contact and you're left with a drier version of the tone it had when intact. Definitely an excellent choice here.
Maybe this song is the cure to the god forsaken Corona virus. We take all those who are infected and have them listen and experience this song...and with the power of music from the great Mutemath, they'll be cured! This is the quarantine we need! Lol...Mutemath cures the soul!
The only band that needs to comeback
I call BS. Beardfish, Procupine Tree and Gentle Giant all need to come back.
AMEN 🙏
Yes god 😭 please
Dont bother if no darren haha
There's so much about their sound that people don't hear, etc.
There really is a MuteMath song for every occasion 😂
haha amen :)
Yep haha. Stratosphere is my song whenever I travel in an airplane XD

...that is what MM always did...no matter the venue, their performance was worthy of royalty...us, the loyal fans!
In 2009 I saw them at V-Fest in Toronto and the promoters messed up and after a bunch of delays they come on, play 3 songs, and were told they had to leave the stage.

Sean Bessette they were one of the best live bands ever! I hope you get to experience it someday.

They always put in 100% for a show. Sometimes doing seemingly unending sets. You always had a good time.
Seriously man!! I really wish the same!!
Oh man... I’ve never missed a show. those were the days! Hope you can witness it one day
I will never love another band the way I love MUTEMATH
Preach sis
Facts! Perioddddd
I will never love again like I love Mutemath.
Best live band ever.
Ridiculously good. We need another Mutemath tour with this level of insanity.
Sorry to disappoint but the band broke up a little while ago. Darren King left prior to their most recent tour and then shortly after Paul announced the end of the band.
Ah the Glory Years. Drove hundreds of miles from Canada to the USA just to see this tour. One of the best shows of my life!
Mutemath is a band I can rediscover. I'll move away from their stuff then see a reminder like this then go on a bender of their stuff all over like it's all new.
You might want to go on a bender with these guys too!! m.ua-cam.com/video/_ofTeH9DzIw/v-deo.html
Same! But the first two record were the ones I cherish the most and heared many more times....
Please, please, I beg you... COME BACK TO D.C.!!!!! PLEASE COME BACK TO US
I beg of you.
Listening to quarantine while in quarantine. Hell yeah.
Pls come back
They are too old to do this anymore. Paul is producing for The Blue Stones now.
I’ve never needed mutemath in my life more than I do now.
I was at this show, stage left, balcony level. I didn’t know it was being recorded until I saw the EP come out later. Truly one for the best live performances I’ve personally witnessed.

There's no greater, and this is their best song!
I got to see them 3 times.. I was at their last show in CHICAGO.... THEY DEFINATELY ARE ONE OF THE FEW BANDS THAT Out perform their albums...
Hope these guys come back one day. They will always be my favorite band.
This tour changed my life, truly. Amazing band, amazing musicians. Mutemath will forever be my favorite group
This is what we really needed! Mutemath will always be my favorite band
I was there! Completely redefined what a live performance was for me.
I'm so glad I made it to this show. I miss seeing you guys live. Never missed it when you came to town
The level of talent going on here is beyond next level. Wow. The music and his incredible voice. Wow.
Didn't get to see them until the farewell tour, but I was at the Nashville show so I got to see Roy play. That was the best show of my entire life
Paul we love you. We love that you're sharing this gold during a very quarantine-y kinda time. From Boston, be safe - be well - be the sonic god you are.

I was fortunate enough to catch them on this tour in Columbus, Ohio. I’ll never forget it.
I hope i can see you guys someday before I die.
I will never forget how excited I felt when I bought their first album. Man I love that album so much.
I saw these guys live once or twice back in the early days, and from the first time I saw them live I knew they would be a legendary live band. Man, this video is so good!

Such energy. These guys play every concert like it's their last. Saw them in St. Pete and they were Ah-ma-zing!
One of the best and grooviest songs I've ever heard. Even with Paul's crowd surfing, this is such a good group effort. Just amazing to hear it live.
I feel so fortunate! I was at this show and even had the chance to do the meet & greet. Love these guys so much
Wow! I'm speechless?
Still waiting for a big UK tour! Saw you guys at Leeds fest it was great

Always wanted more tracks for the Live in DC EP and Darren tops the video. Love this band
The drummer broke his Bassdrum in the first song the last time I saw them in Germany! They made a stand up comedy fun medley until it was fixed. So professional and cool! I looooooove Mute Math!
Seen them 2 times live. Freaking amazing band live.
Saw every UK tour. Got to play high five drums with Darren. Oh to be out in a crowd like this!
Didn't know they were done... Was gonna request them in the durham region and/or Toronta [lol]
Miss you guys tremendously!! Watching this makes me happy because it's awesome, and also super sad because I wished I could have seen you guys live 😭

Não existe uma banda igual. É um estilo próprio, inventado, não tem como ser copiado 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Dude i love this
Amazing ❤️
"Quarantine"
I’m undecided if kidding or not
Under the smiling, you never know
Fall in a line if you’re standing around
Let the harvester carve your soul
Blind eyes still rely on a sign anywhere they go
Let it heal someone, heal someone
Who really needs to understand what they know
If they know it well
Say all you can to convince yourself
If it’s real than it’s hard to tell
Fly high to paralyze any karma you left below
Let it heal someone, heal someone
In my mind, I can hear the river
Wondering why, the sound is getting thinner
It’s no use to pretend you’re not
We’re all fish out of water
Believe it
Love is keeping everyone liable
Slow down the spiral now
It’s no use to pretend you’re not
We’re all fish out of water
Didn’t you know
Should we by now
Can’t ever let the children out
Can’t ever let the children out of your sight
There you heart rate goes again
No one knows what’s happening
Can’t ever let the children out
Can’t ever let the children out of your sight
I still believe in a reunion.
I can’t believe that I’ve never had a chance to see their LIVE…
Your music still gives me full body goosebumps. Was wearing my tour shirt yesterday. 💜 Thank you for posting this!!
2:06 is me trying to be social while avoiding Coronavirus
Miss you guys...
My best concert experience was at a Mutemath show. I miss old mutemath....so sad to see all the og band members
you guys are the absolute greatest
How in the world does that shattered hi hat sounds so good? How Darren, HOW???
I've gotten pretty good tone out of trashed cymbals, you just gotta rip the excess cracked bits neatly with pliers so there's not any contact and you're left with a drier version of the tone it had when intact. Definitely an excellent choice here.
I miss the Darren Roy and Paul and Greg combo that stuff was amazing man
Shit was magical man.
Absolute thing of legend. Way way too ahead of it’s time. I even have a hard time imagining it in my head now.
brilliant !!!
The healing we need!
my dream is to attend a live show of mutemath
Saw some good MuteMath shows...all I hear is guitar on this.
P L E A S E go on tour together again. PLEASE!!
Nobody is pointing out the irony that this video was uploaded right around the time lockdowns began?
Maybe this song is the cure to the god forsaken Corona virus. We take all those who are infected and have them listen and experience this song...and with the power of music from the great Mutemath, they'll be cured! This is the quarantine we need! Lol...Mutemath cures the soul!
I will buy five copies if you put the entire show up for purchase!!
Please make more albums
Omg the timing of this!!!!
Please please please
COME BACK TO US
Great music
I miss this band. :(
Man I'm gonna love this band to death!!
great little tip of the hat to Cissy Strut at 1:07
Buddy Rich would be proud. Darren is a freakin' beast.
I want a resurrection of Mutemath
Merci ♥️
