Regarding cats and their litter box: A lot of people do put the litter boxes in the bathroom, or tucked away somewhere like a basement or washroom. But that's not actually the best place to put it, not for pet nor owner! For starters cats like to have multiple places to do their business, especially if there are multiple cats or if there aren't a lot of spaces specifically for them. This is because they use scent to mark their territory and their colony (family) and pee is one of the best resources they have for that. So they prefer to mark the places where they are most often with their scent. Also the places where the other members of their colony are at. That's why they love to sit on chairs or sofas or beds that their favourite humans have been using; it already smells like their friend and they want to add their smell to signal that you are family. So what happens when you hide away your cat's litter box? It depends on the individual cat's personality and how many other ways it has to mark its scent, but for a lot of cats they will either go potty on your furniture or your floor in a desperate way to mark their territory. Or they will interpret it as a signal that you are not family and will be more distant and wary, as they will not feel safe in the spaces they can't properly mark. (Source: my mum's a veterinarian and I'm autistic with cats as a special interest, and have been reading my mum's books on cats since I was little 😸) And as for where they sleep, cats love scent soakers (like blankets and pillows that can take up their natural scent just by lying on them) so they sleep in places that have those most of the time, also boxes, hidden corners like closets, any extra surface on the floor (like a rug but also like a random bag or smt) and anywhere the sunlight hits. This is because they are instinctually inclined to seek warmth and insulated places. My cat is very old so I spoil her by giving her hot water bottles in all her favourite napping spots. And she also has a pillow next to mine on the bed where she likes to sleep, but during the night she'll move a lot, sometimes lying on my back or even my face (again, looking for warmth). So in that regard you were spot on putting so many pet beds down! Though in reality, especially for cats, there'd also be a lot of random stuff like cardboard boxes or blankets in strange places - you notice your cat likes to sit there so you just put something comfy down for them. And inevitably your house is filled with a million different spots for them specifically! 😆
Thank you for sharing. I didn't know those things about cats. That explains why one of our cats has her favorite litter box in my daughter's room-her favorite person.
So most of our litter boxes are in the basement BUT it’s a finished basement and where we spend the majority of our time so it makes sense for us and our cats!
Cats can adapt pretty well if done correctly there’s normally not an issue with hiding the litter box as there’s plenty of other ways to bond with your kitty so it’s not something they’re missing out on too much
Yess, you spent wayyy too much on the exterior. Which is why I believe that you should NOT include the trees in the budget. Flowers and fences, yes. Because that's something you'd pay a ridiculous amount of money for. But, if you're trying to keep it realistic, we don't pay for trees unless we plant or remove them ourselves. I STILL love this series! & next career that im suggesting is an actor/actress or an astronaut!! ❤
I really like that you are doing these kinda contrasting budgets for the episodes. In that vein, I would like to see a lower budget build like the retail worker next. Then after that maybe do a higher paid professional?
I've had pets that would use their crates and their beds. For some dogs the crates are a kind of den that they feel safe in. My sister had a big(80lb) dog and anytime I brought my little (15lb) beagle mix to her apartment he (my sister's dog) liked to sleep in my dog's tiny bed. I've got some pictures of him curled up as much as he could and his head hanging off the side. Animals like to sleep wherever especially if it already smells like them or their favorite people.
It’s interesting because from what I know about the vet salaries here in Germany, they basically only end up with the bare minimum, because they also have to pay for the clinic, the equipment and staff (i could be wrong tho, but all vets I know have basically a side hustle)
@@sammorris4722I work at a vet hospital in HR so I’m very familiar with the earning potential of the career in the US. Most vets only wind up with a pretty standard middle class lifestyle because the income to debt ratio is so bad. They graduate school with something like $400k worth of student debt that will require monthly payments averaging anywhere from $2-4k for the first 10-20 years of their career. They also usually do internships after graduation which often pay poorly ($30-50k/yr). If someone is a specialist they can easily earn $200-500k per year depending on the specialty and their location, but that also requires 3+ extra years of badly paid residency when your income is spent almost entirely on student loan payments. Many specialists I know came from some money to start with because it’s the only way to survive so many years of expensive education before starting to earn a wage.
I'm a vet in France and you can divide the annual salary in this video by 4 and you'd be closer to what I earn before taxes (and I'm not complaining). But for specialists (orthopedic surgeon, cardiologist, oncologist, etc), that salary might be accurate because their fees are way more expensive than mine as a generalist.
This looks like the house for a single parent to, I think, 3 boys that you did a SUPER long time ago as a curb appeal speed build video. I loved that house I watched it so many times lol

My dog loooooves rutine, same spot for sleeping in the big bed and the same spot in the couch for naps in the day. Also had a crying meltdown when i changed my work hour😂😂😂
I have a cat that is scared of the rain named Rayne so when it rains, I put him in the bathroom to calm him down with his litterbox only then, otherwise it's in the living room corner. loving this series as a player who loves interior design 🥰 maybe interior designer career next

My mom has worked from home for the last decade and has always had a pet bed right next to her desk for our little senior Yorkie, and she also has a pet bed on top of her own bed that our pup sleeps in about half the time (otherwise she’s under the covers with her haha)
litter boxes can go in bathrooms for sure. generally it’s best to put them in an area where they can see their surroundings, and without noise. some simmers place them in laundry rooms which often wouldn’t fly irl!
I have good news for you Ashley! You actually *can* place the hedge-fences on curved walls! You just have to start with the rounded decks for the parts that you want curved, and use the replace fences tool to get the fence you want on the curve. Then you lower the deck to ground level, remove the floor and remove the straight sides, and you've got a perfectly rounded fence! 😁
Your videos are my favorite because you get straight yo the point and build and don't linger on everything . Alot of builders take like 10 mins just talking about and showing you different roofs ! I like ur videos because you give us just enough 😊
Random but I'd love a house for a fashion buyer or fashion editor since I'm in that industry! A lot of people who are in that field come from money in it so I wonder how far you could go off just the actual salary hahaha
My Labrador has a bed next to my bed and a bed downstairs near the television. However, he much prefers to climb into bed with me, especially during the colder months. I love the build.
My dog will take turns sleeping in my room, my parents or in the living room. We have blankets on the ground for him to sleep on as well (he's an older guy)! When we had cats, they would sleep anywhere they wanted lol, there was some questionable spots they would fall asleep on or in ha! I love living with animals so much and you did a great job making this home filled with pet stuff! I absolutely love your builds and the way you decorate each home! I love watching your videos!! :D
Hello from Texas! I'm really enjoying this series you're doing with the realistic salaries. I always love your builds and have many in my game. A house this size where I live would run about 600K.
For professional landscaping, you could easily spend a lot! I do property management, and what some people are willing to spend on plants, and then the up keep just astounds me!
22:55 we have two cats and two litter boxes. one is in the half bathroom and one is in the dining room (which sounds weird, but i feel like most cat owners i’ve met put them there???) i also feel like a lot of people put them in laundry rooms. so those are all pretty usual places for litter boxes
we only have one cat that actually uses his pet bed, and he completely ignored it up until we were thinking about giving it away. it’s like his intuition told him we were trying to get rid of it, and now he’s OBSESSED with it. other than that, they sleep on the couch/bed/in their little cat trees.
The home gym is also for the pets... some service dogs are trained to walk on treadmills... because their handlers can't always take them for walks... it works really well.
As someone who owns a cat: Litterbox in the bathroom if possible, due to smell and litter getting stuck in cat paws. (Most of the time it depends on where you have space and where it is more convenient for you) My cat decides where to sleep every night, sometimes in the corner of the living room couch, sometimes on my chair which I added a blanket and cushions to make more cosy. Sometimes, even just on the carpet. It differs from cat to cat as some love snuggling in bed, whilst others prefer to be in their own separate spot.
Hi Ashley, I found your channel from Episode 1 of this series and I am LOVING it so far!! 💖 Can't wait to see what other careers you cover. I would love to see a plant lover house (maybe add a big greenhouse?) for the Botanist career. 🌱🌼🍂
I have 2 Dobermans, 1 male and 1 female. They sleep in their pet beds that are on the floor right next to my side of the bed. In the morning I have to drag them out into the kitchen and put them next to my chair while I have my coffee, because Dobers are very Velcro and must be right next to me. Later we just pile onto the couch together! love all your series, love playing in your builds even more! Hahaha! Reading that back, it sounds like I’m dragging my pups out of the bedroom! Of course I meant the dog beds! I’m an old lady, you’ll have to give me a break!
Yes, it can often go in the bathroom. Sometimes laundry room but if there is carpet most places in the home it is hard to find a place for the litter box, it really really needs to be on a hard surface because cats track the litter and if it was on carpet you would never be able to clean it all up...
Coming in late, but ive had cats and dogs my entire life and their litter has always gone in the bathroom. My mom always says "you dont want to sleep with the smell and you sure dont want to eat with the smell...where else but the bathroom". Also, neither know what the floor is. We have a couple of large pet beds down, but they both hog up the beds/furniture and we wouldnt want it any different. My dog will actually LITERALLY snuggle under the blanket in winter when its cold like a little human. ❤
I feel like paying for landscaping makes it so much more realistic! I put landscaping in my yard in my house a few years ago (nothing crazy, just mulch and a little border of flowers and bushes out front) and I was APPALLED at how much it all cost!
I love this! I almost never make matching bedrooms because i feel like most kids just have tons of different stuff in their room, and usually only wealthy people have the budget and time to rly make the bedrooms look super matchy, same with the rest of the house. So it really elevates the wealthy look to do this in this build
My anxiety just kept rising as you were doing the landscaping because GIRL!! Those bushes were $45 bucks a piece and I’m just imagining the lag trying to play this lot
My pets are all different. My older female cat sleeps alone but is attached to me 24/7 during waking hours. Dog wants to sleep inside my skin but eventually learned she’s too big and has to sleep next to me. My male cat usually sleeps with someone in the house, he likes snuggling under the blankets when it’s cold. It melts my heart
LOVE THIS Series and have used ur code! I would love to see 2 different artists homes. One for successful artist and one for a starving artist would be awesome.
I think it would be really interesting if you did realistic builds for each of the careers that are playable options in the game, but there are also so many jobs that aren't available in the game that would make interesting challenges for this kind of build. Given that I'm a huge reader, I'd love to see a realistic build for a manager at a successful bookstore (probably a branch of a major chain like Barnes & Noble). Oh, and we have four cats. We have one litter box in the upstairs hall bathroom, one in the laundry room, and two in separate areas of the basement. Really, it would be ideal to have five litter boxes with four cats, but there's just no place to put a fifth. Anyway, the cats all seem good with it. They also sleep anywhere they like, usually on one of their cat trees that has platforms with short sides to enclose them. They prefer to sleep on our beds, but we also have a lovebird who has started waking up at 4 am in his dotage and screeching his head off, so we've had to start keeping our doors closed, and the cats would rather stay out with access to the litter boxes and water bowls. I've also had dogs, who can be trained to sleep in their crates or on a bed, but if you let them sleep in your bed with you as a puppy, they will take it as a punishment if you then try to make them sleep somewhere else once they get older. My dogs were small and could fit on the end of my bed, which worked fine. It's just hazardous for any live thing to touch me while I'm sleeping, since I've been known to throw pillows off the bed for brushing against me and startling me while I'm dreaming.
Love the house! Personally i think it's fine if you use a mix of debug and regular plants for landscaping :) i bought the 2 latest kits and used your code to support a fellow Canadian because I love your content ❤

A cat box is typically some where not behind a door because doors don’t open for cats in real life. Now in the Sims the bathroom is 100% a perfectly acceptable place for the box.
I was sitting here and said “oh there’s no in-home laundry, let me scroll to the next listing” but then I remembered I was watching UA-cam and not browsing on Zillow for houses I can’t afford 😂 loved this build!!
Re: pet sleep locations. We have pet beds throughout the house, and our 2 dogs do sleep in them during the day. They also nap on sofas or the recliner. At night they sleep with people.
My dog pretty much sleeps where ever she wants. Regarding cats and their litter box:
A lot of people do put the litter boxes in the bathroom, or tucked away somewhere like a basement or washroom.
(Source: my mum's a veterinarian and I'm autistic with cats as a special interest, and have been reading my mum's books on cats since I was little 😸)
And as for where they sleep, cats love scent soakers (like blankets and pillows that can take up their natural scent just by lying on them) so they sleep in places that have those most of the time, also boxes, hidden corners like closets, any extra surface on the floor (like a rug but also like a random bag or smt) and anywhere the sunlight hits.
thank you for sharing! 🫶😸
The criminal career must be a really fun one to do!
I think astronaut would be really cool maybe out in Oasis Springs
Oouuu I would loooveee to see an Astronauts house 🫶🏼
I've had pets that would use their crates and their beds. For some dogs the crates are a kind of den that they feel safe in. My sister had a big(80lb) dog and anytime I brought my little (15lb) beagle mix to her apartment he (my sister's dog) liked to sleep in my dog's tiny bed. I've got some pictures of him curled up as much as he could and his head hanging off the side. Animals like to sleep wherever especially if it already smells like them or their favorite people.
If you could do 50 of these videos, please and thank you😊
They’re sooooo soothing
A trick to make the hedge perfectly round is to use the terrainpaint in a circle to follow as a template 😊
It’s interesting because from what I know about the vet salaries here in Germany, they basically only end up with the bare minimum, because they also have to pay for the clinic, the equipment and staff (i could be wrong tho, but all vets I know have basically a side hustle)
Health care in the US is extortionate and people do love their pets, so it didn't surprise me at all that American vets are loaded - from the UK
Including plants in the budget adds to the challenge, don't use debug landscaping 😁 Very cute build!
Ashley,I love watching you build! Your voice is very calming and you’re very patient and deliberate about your explanation of what you were doing with the build. I feel like I actually learn things when I watch you build! This turned out beautifully and thank you so much for sharing it with us! 🌻🌻💛💛
My dog loooooves rutine, same spot for sleeping in the big bed and the same spot in the couch for naps in the day. Also had a crying meltdown when i changed my work hour😂😂😂
I have a cat that is scared of the rain named Rayne so when it rains, I put him in the bathroom to calm him down with his litterbox only then, otherwise it's in the living room corner.
loving this series as a player who loves interior design 🥰
maybe interior designer career next
i have an idea for your next challenge series: maybe you could build houses from movies/tv shows like the cullen house (twilight) etc. (:
I'd love to see a house done for a real life doctor's salary.
“Doctor” is a broad term. A veterinarian is technically a doctor. But I would love to see her do houses of different doctors (PT, Optometrist, etc).
I was kind of referring to a doctor as a physician since that's the type of doctor that we have in game.
@@MsSims2Fan1983 I was just stating doctor is a broad term, and I personally didn’t know what you meant by your comment since it can be interpreted vaguely. Wasn’t trying to come off as rude :)
@@yasmine2141I don’t think it’s hard to use context clues here…
@@terrainegrace17 👍
I like ur videos because you give us just enough 😊
how you build is so satisfying to watch and it looks soooo easy for you that it makes me want to build myself too. this house looks amazing
A realtors house would be so interesting both in terms of salary and decor
Ash shouting out teachers is everything to me. Thank you 💞🤓
Random but I'd love a house for a fashion buyer or fashion editor since I'm in that industry!
Interior designer would be good because you can use the dream home decor stuff 🥰
Just ordered a Brindleton Bay sweatshirt! I’m obsessed 😍🛥️. About to take a roadtrip around New England and it will be perfect for the vacay 🥰.
What a stunning house! I agree landscaping cost should be included, it would be if you both the home or planted flowers etc
Probably my top favorite of all the series in your channel so far. Well done, Ashley! 💗
im loving this series so much! can't wait to see how the other houses look for the different careers 😍.
love the house! i think you should keep including the exterior with the budget, its more fun.
If it helps, Kate Emerald usually takes a sized-up round or half-circle rug and places it outside to help with making a guide for rounded landscaping
The home gym is also for the pets... some service dogs are trained to walk on treadmills... because their handlers can't always take them for walks... it works really well.
10:24 it should be fine 86k is a good interior budget
i love how effortlessly she builds and still created something so amazing 🤩
Do architect please! Love this series !
As someone who owns a cat:
Litterbox in the bathroom if possible, due to smell and litter getting stuck in cat paws.
(Most of the time it depends on where you have space and where it is more convenient for you)
My cat decides where to sleep every night, sometimes in the corner of the living room couch, sometimes on my chair which I added a blanket and cushions to make more cosy. Sometimes, even just on the carpet.
It differs from cat to cat as some love snuggling in bed, whilst others prefer to be in their own separate spot.
Absolutely love your videos! This build is amazing! My dog, Olive, love to sleep in my bed above my head on my extra pillows.
As a cat mom, the 2 places for a litter box is the bathroom & the mud/laundry room (room leading to the backyard)
I would love to have that furbaby playpen on my house ✨
There isn't a toy box or anything for the kids! I was waiting the whole time for one to be added in somewhere! ❤
Stumbled upon your channel by accident today and absolutely fell in love with your creativity and endearing candor.
12:00 with a mod you can run the clinic from home by LittleMissSams of course
Ashley finna be a budgeting master by the time she's done a dozen of these career videos
All sims creator have their own style and I love it sm ❤
I love this!
I almost never make matching bedrooms because i feel like most kids just have tons of different stuff in their room, and usually only wealthy people have the budget and time to rly make the bedrooms look super matchy, same with the rest of the house. So it really elevates the wealthy look to do this in this build
My anxiety just kept rising as you were doing the landscaping because GIRL!! Those bushes were $45 bucks a piece and I’m just imagining the lag trying to play this lot
Do landscaping last 🙂
You should add a bath tub on the first floor for bathing dogs. Maybe even on the deck like a utility tub.
FYI I LOVE the new music 😍
So nostalgic
Please upload the Teacher's build to the TS4 gallery!❤
You did it and I was only panicking a little. Love your use of colour! 😂❤
you're killing it w all your builds and videos, keep it up!!
I would love to see a first person walkthrough once the build is done so we can get the full essence of it!
I think you should do a high school coach, like a football coach or cheerleading coach
Doctor Ashley, you could use a half-round carpet as a Stencil, to make hedges as well.
Love the house! Personally i think it's fine if you use a mix of debug and regular plants for landscaping :) i bought the 2 latest kits and used your code to support a fellow Canadian because I love your content ❤
even tho it´s quite difficult because every artist has their own salary. I would like to see what you do with the average of an artist salary. Taking in consideration, most of us need a studio. Even if it´s a crany in our bedroom or a full warehouse.
Edit: Also, some artists are at the same time art teachers... So maybe an academy inside the loft... Ideas.. I don´t know.
So earlier I said a dentist and I still want to see that but someone said an author and I think that’s a great idea!! Like I can see them having a huge library full of books!! I love to read so I think that would be fun!! So either a Dentist (I am a dental hygienist) or an Author (I love to read a lot)!! I gravitate towards both! 🥰 thx Ashley I love you videos btw!! 🩵
A cat box is typically some where not behind a door because doors don’t open for cats in real life. Now in the Sims the bathroom is 100% a perfectly acceptable place for the box.
How about a farmer??? Although finding a general salary would be hard
ASTRONAUT!! that's all
I was sitting here and said “oh there’s no in-home laundry, let me scroll to the next listing” but then I remembered I was watching UA-cam and not browsing on Zillow for houses I can’t afford 😂 loved this build!!
Re: pet sleep locations. We have pet beds throughout the house, and our 2 dogs do sleep in them during the day. They also nap on sofas or the recliner. At night they sleep with people.
I love this series! I would love to see a fast food worker edition lol Also my dog sleeps wherever
My dog pretty much sleeps where ever she wants. She'll mainly sleep on the couch or go outside (I have a fenced in yard) and we'll find her asleep in her dog house or just out in the open grass if the weather is good.
The only time she'll go onto a pet bed is when the cat is sleeping there 😆She wants to cuddle! Though she usually ends up squishing my poor cat...
idk why i am so stressed when you buy things 😆 i keep thinking "omg she's spending too much on this" while watching but you make it everytime (not sure about this one tho as i'm in the middle of the video). also i really like this series! this was a great idea ♥
20:42 yeah i do feel silly, sorry..
Lmaooo ily 😂❤️
@@DoctorAshley it's fine, it's fine. glad that you got a good laugh. i won't be stressing about you spending money anymore (i probably will)
as someone who’s also allergic to every animal literally bengal cats and russian blues don’t affect mine as bad!! my bengal on the occasion will make me sneeze but these are some options!! 🤗
That hedge work got me feeling crazy right now 😅lol I love the build thoooooo it’s so big ❤❤❤❤
I like how Sims builders ask for the team to be able to paint the ceiling, but choose not to😂😂...I really love this build +being a vet is my dream job♥️🫂
Most homes have just plain white ceilings. I find myself using the ceiling paint when doing a cabin type home or a luxurious apartment reno. My house has a drop ceiling 😂
I think giving yourself a free tree or two is allowed if absolutely necessary. Also, you should do a build for a designer or artist now that we have the art kit! I think a farm would be cool too. Maybe you could Google averages farmer salary?
