It's actually true that THANOS IS TRYING TO MAKE THE UNIVERSE A BETTER PLACE.
His planet Titan was running out of supplies so he thought if half the universe was gone, there will be more supplies for the remaining population.
(Well, yes it is true that we will have more supplies but a smaller population watch What If's youtube video about half of the universe disintegrating)
But he ended up making some problems happen on his planet and yeah....
