We went to see the derby between Benfica and Porto at Luz Stadium. Porto only needed a draw to secure the championship title of the best Portuguese football league.
The atmosphere was absolutely incredible. The fans were so passionate and the energy was electric. We have never experienced anything like it even though we've been to many football games before here in Portugal.
It was mindblowing the see the Benfica fans defending their honour against Porto even though Benfica really didn't have anything to win. The game ended with a 1-0 win to Porto, which made the ending extremely tense and atmosphere boiling to an almost uncomfortable level.
All in all, it was an amazing experience and one that we will never forget. We would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves football and wants to experience something truly unique.

não percebo o escândalo, amam o benfica, não amam o porto nem os árbitros. e visto que o porto pagou muito bem ao concelho de arbitragem não estavam lá a fazer nada. eu fui ver o jogo e fiquei até ao fim independentemente de ter assistido ao roubo que o porto fez, este video provou que o porto só a roubar é que vai lá.

My father was from Porto and grew up there in the 1930s and 40s.
He was a Portista as am I and he told me the Rivalry between the supporters was intense sometimes even violent then,although the Business Relationship between the two Clubs was Amicable.
Apparently this changed dramatically in the 1980s and became Hostile as Porto started a phase of Ascending in Stature under Pinto da Costa and a New Benfica President purposefully created animosity towards Porto.
This has never been properly addressed since that time which is a pity.
