Making excuses, about it being a bad day, is not a mature or responsible option. ~ Of course, the problem with hotheaded, is that it isn't rational; it's rash. @@NossaSenhoraDasGracas1127 I am often surprised by the confluence between Christian and Buddhist beliefs. There is some speculation that Jesus was exposed to Buddhist teachings and perhaps wove some of them into his philosophy. I have friends who are both Christian and Buddhist, which seems contradictory unless you know the Buddha is not considered a god but a mere mortal who had revelatory insights.

I came from a song that sampled a line from this video. The song manipulates the quote “Fear is the response to loud noises or loss of support, and the emotional response to love is usually a result of a show of affection or favors. And these seem to be the emotions with which we start life” to sound like “fear is the emotional response to love, and these seem to be the emotions with which we start life”, and I just think that’s pretty cool all around.

    People over-react when they either:
    * feel insecure (including taking on too much responsibility)
    and/or
    * think that they are the centre of the universe (rather than being servant to something more important than themselves)
The answer to the latter is putting duty to an orderly, secure, graceful, harmonious society before yourself. The answer to the former is surrounding yourself with other people who that (duty) also.
Today's society sets itself against that with its lust for noise and self-obsession. No small wonder its such an unstable place that more resembles the poor example in this film rather than the good one.

It came to be accepted as unkind and inauthentic to be polite and show common courtesy. It was unkind because people should be and do as they think and feel and not conform to "what has already been done". It was in authentic because you could be polite and not really feel the politeness being expressed. It came to be viewed as heroic to be offensive. Eventually the state became involved and politics weaponized the freedom to offend just for the sake of self expression. So guess what. Now we thoroughly hate each other. No surprise there.

By a better understanding of the emotional patterns of everyday life, and by knowing how you respond to various stimuli, you can develop better self control by eliminating the stimulus, or by modifying the stimulus, or by modifying the response. You can control the fire of your emotions. You can balance your emotions and use them so that your personality becomes more pleasant. And you and those around you are a great deal happier and healthier.
