There are so many people in music classes or people just interested in what serious composers are doing now and often there is no work at their library and certainly classical radio cant make the time AND NOW we can all go to youtube and hear work 10 years ago we only got to read about and never heard. Thankyou so much for downloading this now I need to find what is for purchase.Funny how everyone knows Ligeti and you see his music in the stores while Johnston,Oliveros,LaMonteYoung and so many
thank you for posting this! If only they knew what they did with their music… how much it helped people. Mad props to Pauline Oliveros. Masterpieces of humankind.
Thanks to "New Sounds" on WNYC, I was introduced to this album. Meanwhile, there were many other CD's I want to get and I've forgotten about "Deep Listening." It wouldn't be until the late '90s when I would see the album on an online store at a good price and finally got it. I have that listed in my collection at Discogs. I also submit releases there, too.
I heard an extract of this on BBC Radio 3 yesterday afternoon and was intrigued enough to find the full piece of music. I must say, I found it very beautiful, mesmerising, meditational.
This music remind me of megastructure, space, dysonsphere and advanced civilization.
Damn, I must go to sleep, but it hurts me. Magic, wonder, extatic. I could be hearing this blessing for hours.
Its up there with the best even after all these years.
One of my absolute favorites too.

Not to gild the lily or anything, but it can be quite interesting to have this playing in multiple windows slightly out of sync with each other......
hehe, great idea! I do that in production all the time, never thought about it in this context. NICE.
